two weeks ago this was a thriving community of level headed intellectual progressives, now every post is met by gangs of thugs and mental midgets severely limited in world experience.
such is the nature of human civilization.  Sad

After the training I detect 100% consistently.
Or you've convinced yourself (and others) that you do.  Seems to me it's a pseudoscience-du-jour that can't bear any real scrutiny.  A TV driven fad backed by a quack.  A psychological con so people can feel like they have some superpower.  Who else wouldn't want to be 100% right on everything.  Word to the wise: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, and you're probably fooling yourself.  Eckman's stuff isn't even peer reviewed.  He's a Guru, not a scientist.

The METT is a standard test, I don't throw numbers because I like them.
It seems that you really need to check your biases.
I am tired of uninformed and uneducated Wikipedia-based critics-du-jour.

Edit: Not even peer reviewed? Quackery? Seriously, STFU.

whoa, youre a mess (most shrink majors are, thats why they are there), but could you take this down the hall to your "colleagues" or your Nobel prize committee chair,
cause nobody cares.  Thanks

FYI - I nod at everything. It's a habit I've picked up here in Japan from teaching english. Nodding at students as they literally piece sentences together shows I understand, and encourages students that would otherwise be shy/nervous when trying to express their thought or opinions. In the last 8 months I've been here I haven't met many english speakers, so 95% of the time I speak english it is with non-native speakers. I've found this mannerism has carried over. I also tend to over express everything with my face (I'm very aware of this) so I don't know how it would reflect in this kind of assessment. (I think it may distort, rather than amplify, judging from what you were able to puzzle together). By prescreening our reactions with information that may or may not be true, your assessment is at the mercy of your own confirmation bias. Its definitely was amusing to read however. Wink

whoa, maybe I'm crazy, but........SHOULDNT YOU BE BUSY GETTING MTGOX BACK ONLINE!???

131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Visa and Banks After BTC on: June 23, 2011, 01:08:38 AM
sources are telling me that there is chatter and likely action focused on  "killing btc" before it grows up, by card companies and their trade associations.
Visa and other usury based entities are nervous that if BTC is successful, that there will be many other copycats that pop up, that essentially kill
their debit transaction business.  Theres little fear on the credit side of things at the moment, because that is loaned money, but the debit drafts are another can of worms and there are billions in global fees to lose.

The banks and credit card companies have the security knowledge to pose a hostile threat to BTC based companies and exchanges.
Of course these same entities are in bed (or at least exchanging nude photos) with central governments, although they make it appear that the government is cracking down on their business with regulation.

My contacts believe that some of the recent attacks were orchestrated by groups with sophisticated understanding of market dynamics and exchange platforms. For instance, The trading on MT GOX was in a bullish break out pattern, meaning that the market was wound up and ready to move higher based on price action.  At the apex of this setup the attack was launched effectively killing the market dynamic at a critical point.

make of it what you will....

132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Idea ("Silk Road" except for gold/silver instead of drugs) on: June 22, 2011, 09:09:49 PM
already working on it....
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Human greed and bitcoins on: June 22, 2011, 09:06:15 PM
actually I do see this as a weakness of the current currency systems which btc doesnt seem to have overcome, maybe it cant be overcome, its not envy, its just that if someone has a large proportion of a currency they have the power to manipulate it, crash exchanges etc

the magic hand of the market will solve these issues. once the price gets high enough and stable enough, they will cash out and distribute their stash to more people, thus stabilizing the market even further.
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To Magical Tux on: June 22, 2011, 09:01:43 PM
I'll be sticking with MT gox....why you ask....its simple really.

all the angry locust will be leaving....swarming over to tradehill.....goodbye, then there will be less volume on MT gox,
and the service will be better in terms of communication because of less angry locusts
demanding service. Also MTGOX has had their lessons, and have seemingly learned.
They wont repeat those mistakes again. As the masses leave for tradehill, the focus of hacktack will be.....you guessed it....tradehill....

have fun...its bitcoin hell.

138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 2.0 - Bitcoin backed by "junk silver" - coin dealers become exchange on: June 22, 2011, 04:54:55 AM
I like the idea, but I think the silver should not be junk, it should be fine silver bullion of a certain non political mintage.
The rounds minted , numbered and limited in production.  NO fractionalization!
Ive been thinking about this for the past few weeks.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Out in the wild - people think Bitcoins will drop to 0 on: June 22, 2011, 04:51:13 AM

I don't think you understand angelus, eventually it will take massive amounts of computing power to generate bitcoins. That IS the value you're looking for right there. Try telling someone who just invested 20thousand dollars on mining equipment, hundreds in electrical costs, and months of his time, that his coins are worthless.

something only has value if someone is willing to pay for it.
.....and there does seem to be a market, although today BTC is trading below their creation costs.
Looks like a buy.
140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins = Friendster. What will be the Digital equivalent of Facebook? on: June 22, 2011, 02:28:43 AM
