Yes the bug and client is already being worked on and scheduled for release this week.  Anything to do with a possible name change or further ideas is supplemental to its release.  I believe everyone is trying to function one step ahead of the game, as opposed to 5 steps behind.

Primary goal of client and bug fix - already in process.

Please vote here for ideas involving name debate.

heh, i was just about to post that the grand bazaar name was chosen by arteleis , but i was being blocked form posting and he came here to admit to it himself .. so thank you arteleis, for telling the other monkey that it was you who came up with such a horrendous idea.

I chose the name The Grand Bazaar because surely the camel was going somewhere...
In this metaphor he is going to load up with goods at the bazaar before he heads back out on the next long journey up the crypto ranks..  Enjoy and please pm me to be added.
We will fix this together under the silk veil of unity.

The Camel Marches On.

nzminer i just realized discussion with you is pointless, you are probably 12 and dont understand "crypto" at all.

IDK, keep the ideas coming, its early days, perhaps separate blockchains could be used for each commodity, thats something that hasnt been done with any coin before.
You may ask why use seperate blockchains, well perhaps some people just want to use the main silk platform and not engage in trading, the separate blockchains could store the extra data required in the online trading, social networking side of things, IDK. The devs will have a better idea on this.

yes please leave all the "ideas" to the devs.
the reason it "hasn't been done before" is because it makes no sense whatsoever,
and..
silkcrypto is a horrible name,

...we can not have a different blockchain for each commodity, that meant everytime you wanted a new item in a new "commodity" section you would create a whole new coin, new blockchain = new coin. so it's not even silkcoin anymore...

altho there is already a potcoin and cryptometh, so maybe you are on to something Wink

and of course ...
the implied myth behind silkcoin was there would be a silkroad type marketplace with anon features that would accept silkcoin...
of course this could probably never be built into the block chain as they described... it was a nice dream, and someone could still pull off a decentralized market of some kind that indeed does use silkcoin as the currency .., anything is possible.

but if i was you, and i am sure as hell glad i am not, i would look into CLOAKcoin's proposed p2p decentralized marketplace that will accept CLOAKcoin .. called CLOAKmarket.....  https://twitter.com/CryptoPioneer/status/483297316976078848

maybe it will be a scam too. but it looks promising so far, whitepaper to come out soon..

i will keep holding my silk, i hope something happens with it, besides a bunch of 12 year olds renamaking it silky the camel-my first internet monies.

arteleis, the original silk road was a magical place where dreams came true, of course the implied reference with silkcoin was to this original marketplace, complete with a camel as it's symbol.
... not that it matters as it turned out to be a scam.

i hope the dream still comes alive.. or at least silkcon gets some value again.

so yea, nzminer, it seems you are the one that missed the point... as all i was saying is, all these ideas are pointless for a broken coin. why bother changing the name, go home.

you and arteleis are making this thread into an embarrassment, no one is going to want to save this coin if you two have anything to do with it.

Right on man.  Destroy or build.  Your choice.

And honestly this gives me warm fuzzy feeling of black metal.  Which I like.  Feels a bit like Mayhem or 1349.
For the record, if you would like to throw your name at the forefront of anything resembling silk road go for it.  I started buying silkcoin, because it stated literally on the site that it had nothing to do with silk road.  As coool as it would be to associate my name/alias with a group that might get me sent to some torture chamber, I'll pass.  If this goes that way.  I'm out.

i think those are all terrible ideas .. cubits ?? wtf.

cmon, just all it silkcoin.

i kinda like the proposal to call it "silky" .. kinda .. but now all this shit is blown oout, it's stupid.

Grand Bazaar? wtfowts....

Yea, it will be cool to have a decentralized p2p marketplace, just call it SilkCoin DarkMarket SilkMarket, where it accepts SILKCOINS, not silkcrypto, not silk cubits, but silkcoin, SC. that's what it is.

edit: ... Phenocoin .. ?

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Pheno

Pheno. A Secluded Dublin 15 location where a select group hang out and partake in illegal activity on a disgustingly frequent basis.

Headin' down pheno?
I think youve missed the point, read again.
From Memory the term "Grand Bazaar" was going around on here when the original developers were here.
I dunno I never seen Grand Bazaar anywhere before I made the trello.  Possible but not as far as I know.
Only problem with silk market of course, it sounds very directly linked to silk road.  Which of course silk coin has nothing to do with. Personally do not want to go that direction at all.

We need a community manager or management team. In order to promote concensus.

I'd volunteer for community manager. I've a BS in Public Relations and I minored in marketing. I have a fair amount of experience being an operations director for a local fandom convention. I can manage teams, get work done, follow deadlines, and that sort of thing. I'm passionate about crypto for a while. I like Silk, and if the community will allow me to help then I will do so.

Awesome!  please join the grand bazaar and post your trello id.

Unfortunately I just found out that to edit the names or add to a poll, the poll needs to be restarted.

Will see the outcome of this poll, and when bholzer gets back on the forum maybe we can do a btt poll, and maybe another easypoll with the same choices.. Sorry about that Brian.  Please note everyone, that Phenocoin - Is Pheno in the easypoll.

 The aim of the easy poll was to find out a rough estimate of what everyone wants, but I do not think it shall be the end all of end all polls.  (-;

Compassion and Empathy is a good thing. Think it has a lot to do with the reasoning behind everyones volunteer efforts.  No need to cry! Silk is getting rebuilt! With Love! Grin

edit: Camel Love.  lol

IMHO I don't think any public votes should be allowed.  Why open it up to abuse with bots?  I write bots and know the power they have.

A bot with 100K scraped IP addresses could/would skew a poll.

If people don't hold coins, why should they get to vote anyway.  You either buy in to vote, or sit on the sidelines and wish you did later.

The technical complexities would be challenging as well.

Yeh, there are disadvantages to public polls like bots, or just proxying different ips over and over..

But there are also problems with weighted.  It would mean that the 2 or 3 percent of the community with the most coins control the entire thing.  Much the same as the world we live in now.  My hope is that there can be a balance somehow.

But in relative contrast to saying that.. What about a straight forward pay to vote system?  1 silk = 1 vote.  Would show exactly how much silk has been spent to vote, and would contribute to development directly.

Absolutely!  And as i mentioned before, with the massive community support of skilled individuals, a management team would be necessary.

Don't forget to make your vote here for rebranding debate.  If there is a name you think you want added, please post and I will add it to the poll.
I have added IP voting - so one vote per IP, geographical mapping, and have also paid to have ads removed from poll.  The polls here are also able to be embedded in websites, so if you you have somewhere to embed please let me know.
Also has java scripting capabilites, so if someone knows java please let me know and I can give you the poll site password to help make this poll better.

Silk 33%
SilkCrypto 11%

Silk Exchange - Ecosytem 0%
Phenocoin 0%
FairSilk - Ecosystem 0%

Please note about this poll, I think that once exchange withdrawls/deposits are back up we should consider a weighted poll as mentioned above. My suggestion would have to be an agreement on percentage of weighted votes vs public ip votes for the polls to be finalized and decision(s) made.

I have also purchase www.silk.international.  Once the name decision has been concluded, please pm me for transfer to web developer(s) if needed.

Peace folks!
