344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SaffronCoin [SFR] - Hybrid Algo -111M Max coins on: May 03, 2014, 11:32:24 AM
Is someone able to use ccminer with this pool?
I dont have any accepted shares with
Code:
ccminer.exe -a myr-gr -o stratum+tcp://erebor.dwarfpool.com:3347 -u address.1 -p 1

Same problem Sad
I have temporarly removed "cpuminer" as supported miner. Send me your wallet via PM, I'll check logs

Glad that you offered help. I might ask for it one day. Most of this web stuff (python, javascript, etc) is not really "my thing".

Yes, I remember that yours was the first pool (you got 35,840 GRS bounty for it).

And BTW, perhaps your skills could help in implementing merged mining in DMD blockchain? There is 100k GRS bounty on it?

I didn't notice, I offered my help ))

bounty.. hmm, 35K GRS for 2,5hours start a pool ok. 100K accord ca.7-8h. I think it'd take longer, C++ is not really my thing. but why didnt you do this? it is just your specialization, isn't it?

But generally it is not about bounty, just because of luck of time, I'm 150% in a project, it will last a while
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [GRS] GroestlCoin: Democratizing Mining | AES Accelerated | Ultimate PoW on: May 01, 2014, 03:55:13 PM
You are clearly using an old miner, where "difficulty-multiplier" is not set.
Your share difficulty should be like 0.125, not "16" in the log.
Also, difficulty of 16 is pretty high. So you're supposed to only get it relatively rare.
"old miner, where "difficulty-multiplier" is not set" works like new, this "difficulty-multiplier" was hardcoded extra for groestl by myself,  before it appeared in new version by SPH.
This all means that both two versions work the same

There was the stat problem on the pool, recalculation on real sent shares will be done next hours, the pool engine works.

PS: I'll ignore your "worthy coin" comment above.

nothing personal, but generally ignorance of this is just the point why coins die )

Hi Atrides!

Thank you for your latest interest to GroestlCoin.

It's not really the "latest" interest, Dwarfpool was the first pool for Groestlcoin.

Quote
I wish you had more time for us when I asked you how to implement stratum mining for GroestlCoin (2 times in this thread, PM in BTC talk, and email on your pool page). It took me about 2 weeks to figure out myself. The time that I could have spent implementing other features like Android wallet / miner.

Thank you
srcxxx

I wish the same here! I have been working hard on a large project since last month, often for up to 18 hours a day.

Very sorry I didn't take your request seriously, wouldn't ever think that a senior C++ developer needs two weeks for that task, if I knew, I'd have helped

Hi Atrides!

No, as soon as you have 30% or less, I'll add you back to the groestlcoin.org list.
But you need to understand, 51% attack is a big deal. And it has happened to other coins.

Nothing personal.

Thanks
srcxxx

so what about cpu-pool having more than 35-40% at the moment?

sure 51attack is big deal to the worthy coin, while the other coins you are speaking about died in no case due to such an attack, this is a suit pretext of their devs just to shift the blame onto someone, but because they didnt get the real issues and sense of coin

Dear Dwarves miners, I am very sorry for troubles last two hours, the issue is fixed now!

http://dwarfpool.com/grs

DwarfPool Quality you can trust!

Dear Dwarf miners and Atrides personally!

Your pool has 7.4 gigahash out of 12.7 gigahash.

This is bad because of the 51% vulnerability.

Please spread the hash asap [move to other pools].

Thank you
srcxxx

hi, please consider, dwarves take less than 50% last time, you can see it on graphs on the pool. Our shown hashrate 7.2Ghs is roughly approximate! it is not comparable with the formula in wallet, just like the other pools show. In fact we have 40-45%

cryptohunger.com - 2Ghs
cpu-pool.net - 5.85Ghs
suprnova - 1.65
coinmine - 0.46
5limi - 0.1
-----= 10Ghs
+ Dwarfpool 7.2

Total-----= 17Ghs

Wallet shows total 13Ghs

the second important thing is that on dwarfpool are much less users than on the other pools (compare hunger 270, cpu 500, dwarf 110!) just because many of them are "largehash"-miners, but when one was gone today, dwarf got about 35% at once. By leaving another one-two top-miners, we'll stay with 5-10% FOREVER thanks the fact you removed my pool from your list, so that no one new miner will even know that we exist!

You can setup all the p2p pools you want... And it will help nothing. Miners need to actively move around to diff pools...
And Pools need to control the amount of hash they aquire. Dwarf and 1gh FAIL big time to do this, again it is also the fault of the miners.
Do not compare dwarfpool with 1gh. Dwarves never done dirty things, as well as never slandered the other pools to get out the competitors of the way! This is not a war to me, I just do my work. I am also open to any reasonable suggestions.
10% fee wont compensate the difference, but will frighten away ALL our miners )
But if you think so, from now on dwarves fee increased to 2%, over 50% of total network to 3%.

If you as a coin owner had done the "official" pool right away at the beginning,  miners wouldn't have depended on any other the only one pool

356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: April 17, 2014, 08:26:34 PM
Just noticed that 1gh.com has 76% of the network hash  Angry Angry Angry Angry

What the hell guys?  They're charging a 3% fee to discourage use, and still 76% !!!

Does anyone here care about the fate of MaxCoin, because if you did you would pay attention and not allow a single pool to have 76% of the network hash, that's crazy!  It opens us up to a 51% attack and sends a terrible message to the cryptocoin community at large.

I just don't understand this, I realize people are lazy, but I would expect those fees to have an effect.  BOOO!

We need p2pool.

what is p2pool good for? we just need the sane miners  Smiley

Thanks for the links , this is what I was looking for.

I've already collected a few and i'll use that to do the job for the rest.
When and where can we see your work? I'm very interested
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: April 16, 2014, 07:30:36 PM
I'm doing a research project on coin distribution for both older and new coins. I'm interested on gathering some data for top addresses and how much of the coins the top100 have. This along with the number of people (addresses) actually holding any amount of coins.

I have some info from bitinfocharts on a few coins but I really do need some data on other coins along with less exposed or new ones.

If anyone knows an explorer with this feature drop a line.
You can use this explorer and extract all addresses:
https://github.com/znort987/blockparser

Or ask Agran, examples of his work:
