141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: The Simple Game on: April 03, 2016, 09:13:31 PM
The problem is that it takes no skill to do this, I could've published 20 of those by now if I had no dignity. This just fucks people who invested in other dapps in the ass, by saturating the market with repetitive junk. But I guess it's natural, when money is involved people will do anything it takes to get it, even selling their souls. Maybe I should just go on ahead and embrace the dark side by publishing an app that limits investments to 5ETH and returns 1.2 with a lower fee? Wink

Yeah this whole thing just smells like more repeated dapp investment garbage but then again who am I to say look at all those transactions if people like it they like it.
Well, of course they like it, it's easy money after all. It's just upsetting to me in particular because I spent weeks working on a project and people just copy paste something in 15 minutes and get profit anyway.

Good job on the copypaste.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH] Fountain of Wealth - Get Wealthy Today! on: April 03, 2016, 08:53:02 PM
GET WEALTHY TODAY!?!?

whoa man thats crazy... almost...too good to be true?
Yeah, it's a scam, all the deposits go to fees in the end. Don't fall for it.

Lot's of small paiements now, free rescue tokens Smiley

Too bad I'm already in the pit  Tongue

It's good to see the scary entry barrier is finally gone. It should be much smoother from here. Many new users joined, which really helps.

In case people are unaware: with the current number of people trapped you'll get 2 tokens/save with a 20ETH deposit, and 3 with a 40ETH deposit. That basically makes it quite easy for you to get an extra x0.3 on your next deposit just by saving one person. There are a couple medium-sized payouts coming soon, but it's mostly lots of small ones, so take the chance before someone else does (x3 bonus gone at <25 people trapped and x2 bonus gone at <15).

Payouts are lowered dynamically when the pit gets too crowded, so those rescue tokens are very valuable. With them you don't have to rely on luck to get a nice return.

Looks like there is a temporary pb with the website, can you fix it ?

It worked fine until yesterday.

http://hpics.li/b3f7a0d

That is very strange, I didn't make any changes to website other than changing a link's style. I restarted the server and checked from 3 different devices and the website works normally, is anyone else having this problem?

Try clearing your cache/cookies or hard-refreshing the page to see what happens.

Edit: I found a problem with a mobile plugin and removed it, it should have fixed the issue. Please let me know if the problem persists or you find some other, and thanks for letting me know! I'll be moving the website to another server soon, it should speed things up a lot.

Awesome, more copy paste cancer. You do realise by doing this over and over you're just ruining it for everyone, right? At this rate they're gonna ban all ETH posts from this forum, it's become obnoxious. Instead of stealing other people's code to make a quick profit try coming up with useful original ideas.

148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH] THΞ GREEŠ PIT - A pyramid with random and strategic elements -40% FEE WKND on: April 02, 2016, 07:44:03 PM
This Dapp is a good and promising one, there is no doubt.

So how and where can we spread the word?

I don't know, the ethereum community isn't very big... mostly got hate on the ethereum forum and on reddit the post dies after 24h; maybe trollboxes of exchanges and social media. I'm working on the website and some side projects so I don't have a lot of time to advertise, but I'm definitely keeping an eye on the situation. Once I finish what I'm working on I'll try more aggressive promotion campaigns, since the new website features will be quite attractive to people.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH] Wealth Redistribution Contract Experiment - 0% FEES - on: April 02, 2016, 07:17:00 PM
Roll Eyes ???Can someone create the same but with no-limits on deposits?
The last thing we need are more copy paste jobs. Every other thread in this subforum has become a cancerous useless dapp advertisement in the past few days.

If my understanding is right, the person that manages to free the current stuck adventurer will share his payoff, is that right ?

There is a certain criteria. It's only shared if the person being saved made a 20+% profit and the person saving deposited at least 5 ethers. The amount shared is random, but also depends on how big the saviour's deposit is (max 50% if you deposit 40+ ethers). In the best case scenario you get most of your deposit back right away by saving a big payout. The person being saved will always earn at least 10% of their deposit. The cool thing about shares is that you get them right away if your deposit saved someone.

Promotional fee is now live, went down from 10% to 6%.

sounds a good investment, i could try this soon!

We'll welcome you down there, make sure to bring some candles, it's quite dark.

This looks fun, I'll be jumping in soon in when I get my ETH back from lending on Polo.

What are the new features you'll be adding ?
I don't wanna reveal them just yet, since I don't want competitors to copy the idea (even though it's probably not possible for existing contracts to do so), and I'm also not too sure about the technical limitations I'll be facing. I'll give details when I'm half-way through implementation. I don't wanna give an ETA since I'm busy with a few things and I really suck with time estimations, but it should be soon-ish.

In other news, the promotional reduced fees will become active sometime next hour.

Edit: I'm having some serious trouble updating the fee, my wallets are bugged and they won't let me use the function, and I can't seem to get the transaction to go through with geth, either (that's what all those recent errors are). I'll report back when I figure it out.

Edit 2: Figured out the problem... my brain. Promo fee now live.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH] THΞ GREEŠ PIT - A pyramid with random and strategic elements -40% FEE WKND on: April 01, 2016, 10:36:20 AM
As a promotion I'll be reducing the fees by 40% for the weekend, if you had been reluctant to jump in now's your best chance Smiley

As Ryth mentioned, once we reach the current payout goal things will speed up quite a bit because the following payouts are mostly small.

Edit: nevermind. I thougth it might be an exploit but they simply reinvested their earnings. Crazy stuff.

Wow. Congratulations to the owner, 3000ETH+ in deposits today, no clue what's going on. If you people have that much money to spare, feel free to try my contract too, it's even cooler!

You should explain more about payouts.

And guys, make the pit live some more, only 3 days and no one is interested in such adventure?
I'll add another tab to the website with more detailed stuff soon, but I thought the FAQ was clear enough.

Anyway, in the coming weeks I'm going to add some interesting functionality to the website that will hopefully attract more people. The promo image on this thread is finally showing (I didn't have enough activity before), so that should help too. Help spread the word if you can, I try to be active on forums but I don't want to spam and I'm also busy working to improve things.

If you're new don't let the "big" payout target intimidate you, we've already taken down a few of those before, and they don't get much bigger than that. More users means lower risk and faster payouts, so feel free to join. Also, if you're having doubts try to invest small amounts (I'd recommend 5-20ethers), that way we don't scare new users or people who can't afford to risk much.

The website will continue to be slow for a couple days, I still haven't moved to the new server, but expect things to be smoother soon Wink
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH] EthereumDice - First working Ether Dice Game! on: March 31, 2016, 03:08:29 PM
Yes you are definitely wrong, the sha3 hash returns the hash of the input (address), which is a long sequence of bytes in the byte32 format.

I have specifically read the manual and I`m familiar with all variable types.

The '%' operator is the MOD operator, which is either 1 or 0, so we take the length of the byres in uint format, it will be a long number, and we see if the number is odd or even (50% chance),

In your current implementation you're only hashing the address, maybe you intended to hash the address with the length of the array sha3(address, array.length). The result will always be the same the way it's coded.

Different from different addresses. That is why the order variable is there. Depends on what order you deposit.

So that is 2 sources of entropy.

Quote
sha3(address, array.length)

that is the same as sha3(address) && array.length %2   from randomness standpoint.

Well, I'd love to hear other people's opinions. I'm pretty sure it's not the same. If someone's address' hash % 2 is not 0 it will never be 0, it's a static value. That makes that person unable to win in this game. If (false && true) always returns false. Only people whose address matches the criteria can win if the array's length is even. If you had used the formula I mentioned that would be different, because then the first result can be true or false depending on the length.

Edit: Either way, even if it worked the way you want it to, people can simply calculate the result before playing, thus knowing beforehand if they're gonna win or lose. There's nothing random about this.

160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH] EthereumDice - First working Ether Dice Game! on: March 31, 2016, 11:25:11 AM
I don't really have time to test the code right now, but I'd be quite cautious, there are some quite sketchy things about it.

Quote
if(uint(sha3(gamblerlist[list_length].etherAddress)) % 2==0 && list_length % 2==0 && Bankroll > 0)    //if the hashed length of your address is even,
   {                                                                //which is a 25% chance, then you get paid out all balance!
   gamblerlist[list_length].etherAddress.send(Bankroll);        //send pay out to participant
   Total_Payouts += Bankroll;                              //update paid out amount
   Bankroll = 0;                                        //bankroll update
   }
I could be wrong, but as far as I know, sha3 always returns the same hash given a certain input. In other words, if you address' hash % 2 isn't 0, it will never be, and so, you'll never get to win no matter how many times you try. I haven't checked yet, but I bet the the owner's address (or an alternative account of his, if he's smart) conveniently matches the criteria. I'll report back with results soon.

Another thing I find odd is this:

Quote
// payout fees to the owner
     if (Fees != 0)
     {
         owner.send(Fees);      //send fee to owner
   Total_Payouts+=Fees;        //update paid out amount
     }
Why count the money the owner gets from fees as a payout? It's a bit misleading.

Also, there are no dice involved here, the payout logic depends on your position in the entries list and the aforementioned hash result. Hardly random.
