You're crazy. Good luck, though.

He's not crazy, he's really smart.
His first bet was 200 ETH. If people get in line, he doubles his investment. If they don't, he sends another 200 ETH and gets 400 ETH back.

As it is now, if nobody else puts in, all he has do is add 100 and he will get his 400 and some idiot is out 100eth.
Assuming it's not his secondary account, hehe. Morality aside, well played, Tdecha!

Considering that clangtrump and BetGod were the only 2 people claiming that Piggbybank (an app that sent most of its deposits to the owner as fees) worked while everyone else was denying it and that clangtrump, aka mr programming for 8 years, was the one who re-released Piggbybank without the "bugs", I would be really cautious. There are few coincidences in this world.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH] EthVenturesFinal on: April 09, 2016, 06:00:48 PM
I agree about Rubixi, but as far as I know sydhelly has only been warning people about apps that are broken, straight out scams, or made and promoted by fake accounts to scam people. I would know because I've been trying to do the same.

There's a balance withdraw function in your code, and no way for users to withdraw investments; people should draw their own conclusions. It starts to stink when many people (some of which have negative trust) try to defend things that simply shouldn't be defended (I don't just mean in this thread specifically, it has been happening a lot. From the top of my head: they were also defending the app that was considering 40+ETH deposits to be a 10ETH deposit, or they claimed "I've been coding for 8 years and this source code works perfectly" on apps that had scam mechanics, such as fees stacking to 100% little by little with every new deposit).

Scamming 101: get a few buddies to claim your stuff works great and you're a dependable guy so that people let their guard down. Good thing I learnt that one the hard way when I was 16.

I'm not trying to accuse anyone here, just telling people to be careful and use their brains. You can try to rationalise all you want, but taking unnecessary risks shouldn't even be considered by anyone when Ethereum allows for most of those risks to disappear. If you disagree, you likely have a hidden agenda or are unable or unwilling to see things objectively.

That being said, I think your EthVentures project is a great idea, but in my opinion you should get rid of the questionable aspects if you want it to be a success.

Damn, how did I not think of that? Genius, indeed.

Where will my eth go or for what are they going to be spend?

They will go in the scammer pockets once he kills the contract look at the code

you are trolling in many threads, you probably need to stop this lol
He isn't really trolling, his concerns are very legitimate.

Good news everyone! The website won't be outrageously slow anymore, I've finally finished moving everything to the new servers. I just need to figure out how to make a loading screen for the 4-5 seconds it might take to connect to the geth node.

Reminder: my new dapp "Ethstick" was released a couple days ago (website coming soon, too!), you can check it out here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1428691.0
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Carrot on a [ETH]STICK, the ultimate ponzi game - Ranking - 120% - 5ETH max on: April 09, 2016, 02:41:44 AM
In spite of the exhaustive testing, it seems a bug slipped through. The last position of the ranking doesn't show the right value, it seems to show the most recent deposit. I've increased the ranking size to 16, and I'll make sure the website only shows 1-15, which should all be correct values.

That being said, the new slots (10-15 in the wallet interface) will be empty until new deposits are made  (it doesn't check for existing deposits). If you already deposited, depositing more will update with the right value. This doesn't affect the game logic in any way, it's just a display issue, so don't worry.  Smiley

Edit: In other news, the greed pit is having a promotional fee for the weekend.

(still not done reviewing the code, I'm updating as I go)
So do you think the code is bug free?
I can't be sure, I'd have to test it to know, but it seems fine.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH] NICE GUY TAX - "rounds based" ponzi with guaranteed pay-out in same round on: April 09, 2016, 12:41:41 AM
Thank you so much for your kind words and feedback, it truly means a lot to me. I've fixed the contract as fast as I could, and fortunately I was fast enough.
You're welcome, I also added an extra thing on my previous comment (still not done reviewing the code, I'm updating as I go).
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH] NICE GUY TAX - "rounds based" ponzi with guaranteed pay-out in same round on: April 09, 2016, 12:24:43 AM
Haven't reviewed the code, but I like the concept. Good job Smiley

Edit: You might wanna re-release it. I think you're not sending the money back when it's not 9 (not sure if throw actually sends the money back since I've never used throw in this case; return is better to save gas).

Quote
//If your investment is NOT 9 ether, the smartcontract rejects it and you get it back.
        if (msg.value != 9 ether) {
            throw;
        }

It should be:

Quote
//If your investment is NOT 9 ether, the smartcontract rejects it and you get it back.
        if (msg.value != 9 ether) {
            msg.sender.send(msg.value);
            return;
        }

This could cause potential problems:

Quote
while (this.balance > 9 ether) {
            investors[payoutIndex].addr.send(10 ether);
            payoutIndex += 1;
        }

It should check if the balance is >= 10, because maybe the balance is between 9 and 10 (because of gas spent or possible errors, better to play it safe) and thus the contract won't have enough balance to make that transaction.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH] THΞ GREEŠ PIT - A pyramid with random and strategic elements - FEES HALVED on: April 09, 2016, 12:18:10 AM
Weekend fee promo is now active!

-60% of the original fee so we reach the next payout faster.

Out of the next 30 payouts, 27 of them are small or very small; if we can get through the next 3, things will speed up greatly Smiley
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Carrot on a [ETH]STICK, the ultimate ponzi game - Ranking - 120% - 5ETH max on: April 08, 2016, 01:36:14 PM
Friendly reminder: payouts are always a maximum of 6 ethers away, so if you deposit and wait a few days there's a high chance you'll get a 20% return; much better than most investments. It tends to be faster on the weekends so it's a good time to get in!

The website might attract more people too, I hope to have it ready soon.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH] EthVenturesFinal on: April 08, 2016, 12:39:40 PM
wow very exciting, an eth based automatic money maker Cheesy

Yeah, the first one after the previous investors lost their money, lol. I hope you guys learnt something from this.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Carrot on a [ETH]STICK, the ultimate ponzi game - Ranking - 120% - 5ETH max on: April 07, 2016, 11:52:25 PM
hey i like your game, i invested in both this and greedpit since they seem like the only ones that are original and are being actively developed/promoted ect.
goodluck in all endeavors!
ps anyway i can help out, i might have some good ideas for future games we can talk in pm Wink

Oh, so the crazy volume was you! Thanks, and welcome. I'm sure you made many people happy, hehe.

As for game ideas, I'm surely open to hearing them, but right now I'm a bit busy with promoting this and doing some website stuff; I don't think I'll be able to release any other app for a while. I want to focus on the ones I already have, and I'm sure my users will prefer if I do that, too.

If we all keep reinvesting part of our earnings this will keep going on for a long time!

PS: Next greed pit payout in 3 ethers. Ethstick payouts always <=6 ethers away  Cool

It's only been one day and the stats already look this crazy:

Can't wait to see what the weekend will be like  Cool

Congrats on making it through that big payout, feel free to check my new dapp Ethstick, link in my signature Wink

Alright, I started promoting. Here's the reddit link if people wanna comment (assuming it doesn't get deleted, I heard they do that because of the recent spam):

https://www.reddit.com/r/ethtrader/comments/4ds0a5/ethstick_a_satirical_yet_profitable_ponzi_game/

Edit: seems to be a slow day, I'm gonna prepare a website for the app to attract more people during the weekend, when things tend to get lively.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH] ethpyramid.tk Dynamic Pyramid *Highest Volume* 0% Fee 50+ ether on: April 07, 2016, 07:31:36 PM
Looks like this cooled a bit down, eh?
Wanted to join but not sure if i am to late for the party.

Maybe you should push this more often to the top so people see it.

Yes, it'll have slowdowns and then pick-up again on certain days. Although oddly, it especially slows down whenever there's a fee drop :S.

Within the last 24 hours, we haven't hit the 10 deposit target required for the pyramid to keep the 1%/0% fee, so if within the next 6 hours, we do not get 8 deposits, the promotional fee will end.

I will look to reinstate the promotional fee, whenever we hit 10 deposits within 24 hours though.
It seems to be a slow day in general, my new dapp didn't get many deposits either. Let's hope the weekend is more active Smiley
