1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price today returned to $ 7,800 on: October 07, 2019, 06:39:06 AM
Many experts have foresaw Bitcoin's downturn
nobody has predicted this "downtrend" apart from those who are always seeing drops at all times no matter what. some expected drops but not a trend.

Quote
when the Chinese return to the cryptocurrency market this week, will they decide to buy at the current bottom? Or will they continue to stand out of the game to watch the support break down?
bitcoin market is a global 24/7 market and you don't leave it to come back! besides you have to believe it is the "bottom" to buy it. right now the market is scared of the drop and the manipulation and the decision of investors like always is to wait until it is over.
you also seem to be stuck in 2013 having some illusions about China's market size and its effect on the price...

China still is making the big moves. About downtrend no one really predicted but you could see coming a slow down in volume and volatility lead to dump after descending triangle.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Multi-signature: what it is and a list of services on: March 30, 2015, 10:08:44 AM
Are there any windows / android wallet which can generate multi-signature address ?
So far, i have found multi-signature address in online services

Other than greenaddress.it, I've not heard of any. I would recommend greenaddress though.
3  Other / Meta / Re: Deleted Posts?! on: February 27, 2015, 02:34:25 PM
My activity wasn't affected by the deletion of the posts so I don't care if they don't come back.

I was just wondering if it could be useful to have the posts back? If there isn't any useful information then no point for theymos to restore anything. But it's quite interesting that the OP, all of a sudden, deleted everything from that thread.
4  Other / Meta / Deleted Posts?! on: February 26, 2015, 09:09:11 PM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=795749.msg8959539#msg8959539

What just happened here? The owner of the thread just deleted everything (I know cause I got 49 messages about the posts deleted).

Should/will theymos put them somewhere so we can read them? (I think it was a scam)
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 25 February - White Monday (on Wednesday) on: February 18, 2015, 09:32:04 AM
On 25 February 2015 it will be 1 year since Mt.Gox crashed, taking the BitCoin price with it. This enabled many new users to buy in at lower prices and increased the distribution. It also reminded us why the private keys should remain private and that there are no bailouts when it comes to BitCoin.

But it's has been as long since the last exchange 'hack' Roll Eyes
6  Other / New forum software / Re: Ditch signatures altogether on: February 14, 2015, 09:42:07 AM
People can already turn off signatures but he's making an argument that they lower the quality of discussion, which you can't really turn off unless you start blocking people.

Also, you can turn off ads and avatars which is nice. Signatures provide the site with a lot of adspace banner views which I think theymos wants to keep (as would be expected), even if there is spam.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is everyone so quiet? on: January 29, 2015, 08:20:41 PM
Tis the calm before the storm, my friend.

Once Coinbase gets fully licensed in NY and Cali, once Gemini launches, once the COIN ETF finally launches, once Paypal launches...

Believe me, there will be alot of chatter once all this happens.  It's only January!   Cool

Let's just wait a few months and not worry too much about the price!

What is this news about PayPal?

10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC TX fee on: December 03, 2014, 05:21:03 PM
if i understand it right the pools can choose to not accept no fee transactions.
can a pool also choose to accept it even if priority is low?

Yes but it happens less often. For example sending 1btc gets confirmed with no problem without a fee. 0.01btc without a fee and you'd experience some delays but it may well get confirmed eventually.

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Can We Make Bitcoin Mainstream? on: November 15, 2014, 01:02:04 PM
All of the writing seems to be on the wall.

Bitcoin now has PayPal integration and dedicated global banking to go along with its natty logo. Regulators are taking notice of it, and noted retailers are accepting it.

paypal can do the job for us if they can bothered to add bitcoin to customer wallets, after they do that its "mainstream", we are done, case closed.

Bitcoin would only be used by merchants who would find it worthwhile to accept the currency, they would not be obliged to accept it, hence the currency might not become mainstream. Same thing would happen if Amazon were to accept bitcoin payments. Only merchants willing to take it as payment would accept it, not everyone.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Interesting free BTC on: November 05, 2014, 05:24:46 PM

Excited to see what johnny has for us. Does anyone know?

I wasnt in the IRC.
Interested as well. Hope it's something big.

I hope it's not too late.

Well see. I dont think its ever too late in crypto.

You really just have to deliver quality products and the infrastructure/community follows.
