I discovered your site yesterday.  I did use it and then when I saw that he pay out was 0.0001 BTC, I realized that this was about 0.05 cents...  If I set an alarm and used the site each hour all day then I'd make just over a penny!

I appreciate that this is free -- but boy...  A penny for 24 log ons?

Embarrassed  yeah, I'm a horrible asshole.   I'm not going to air the issues I've been going thru here, nor should anyone care.  I haven't been following this thread, mostly out of guilt and the shitty feeling I had when thinking about this project and what was owed. My life has been full of challenges recently, but that isn't an excuse of any value to you guys.. I'll make absolutely sure that you all receive your items.  I accept full responsibility for this, and I'd like to apologize to all involved for the length of time it's taken to get your stuff.  I've never had any intention to rip anyone off, or steal from anybody.  Things just have a way of spiraling down fast.  Anyway, if you haven't gotten your coins yet, or you're just really pissed off and want to shout at me for a while, please contact me and I'll do everything I can to make it right.

d

Welcome back!  I am sorry it has been tough for you.

I kinda have my order.  I was supposed to get #2 and theoretically some free stuff was going to be tossed in (I'd have to look back through the thread -- I think it was a coin w/o the acrylic around it or something)...  Instead I received #3 alone.

Whatever -- I paid for one bitcoin and I received one.  Also, whomever it was that received #2 said they wouldn't mind us exchanging them once I had #3 (which just showed up yesterday).  Smiley

Still nothing here and I was supposed to get #2.

If you get my #3 I'll def trade you buddy. :]

Thanks a lot, sir!

So, just received 1/2 of my order in the mail. He actually sent me the wrong number ... he sent me #2 instead of #3. Anyone get theirs yet?

Doh!

Good post.

I have shared a couple emails with Dodgrr.  He wrote:

Hey! I've had some crazy shit go down including an emergency custom toy order for comic con and the theft of my laptop and phone while in las Vegas a week and a half ago.  I've just gotten back up and running technologically speaking, everything is ready to ship but I'm trying to unravel all the mailing addresses.  For some reason I can't get into my yahoo mail that was associated with my bitcoin forum address, I'm hoping I can get back in and contact customers to figure this mess out.  Anyway, this is the pile o bits:

I promise im not ripping anyone off, but this has been a massive fuckup on my part and I'm really sorry. Hopefully I'll be mailing out tmrw, huge apologies for the lag with these.

I asked if I could post his message and he replied:

That would really be appreciated, I'm going to try and figure out something extra for everyone who's had to wait for so long.. I never intended for this project to take any longer than a week and it been driving me nuts far longer than that. Huge thanks again for your patience, I'm really sorry about the lag.

After looking over the thread, it does seem that no one would actually go through all that work to scam people out of $300 or whatever it was.

I agree entirely -- I don't believe he intends to scam us...  Fortunately, I paid with PayPal instead of a bitcoin, so I could try to get my money back.

I am just hoping he resurfaces.  I'd rather get the merchandise.  Smiley

Okay Mine was shipped out June 3rd and arrived July 2nd.

Thanks for the info, kgo.

I have a private message saying he'd send it a month ago -- but no word since.  I've sent him a few private messages before resorting to asking the community here...

Number 2 from the first batch where they were encased in more resin?  Or from the second batch where they were just coins?

Good point.  This is the first batch in resin.

Has anyone received anything yet?  I haven't and mine was number 2.

Things are moving forward.  This past Thursday was our church's domestic adoption support group.  My wife and I met about 7 other families that have either finished domestic adoptions or are, like us, going through the process.

We, my wife and I, were able to decide to go with the Cradle and I sent them an email Friday asking what to do next.  They replied that we need to start with a general adoption introduction course they offer.  Coincidentally, I had already signed up for that very course.  The next one they have is online and will be offered on Thursday the 28th.

We're very glad to be moving down this path.  Smiley

I think it is just supply and demand.

If I am willing to pay $15 for a bitcoin then to me its value is $15...

What determines the price of honey?  What people will pay for it...

OP, all the best with your adoption.

Thank you, mouse.

However, still wrong forum, if anything a mod should just delete irrelevant posts and pop this over in "Off Topic"

Good call, BTCP -- I'll move it to Off Topic.

How much do adoption costs normally run?

Adam, it can really vary from agency to agency.  My friends adopted two boys from Ethiopia and it came to $40,000.  The agency we're currently leaning towards will cost around $30,000 for a domestic adoption.

Best of luck in your adoption Threshold!

Thank you, Current-C.

I can move the post -- I wasn't sure what message board would be appropriate for it.
17  Other / Off-topic / Re: Funds for Adoption on: June 29, 2011, 02:19:08 AM
The next step in our adoption is a meeting at our church.  They have two adoption support groups -- one for domestic adoptions and one for international.  The next domestic meeting is next week Thursday -- the 7th of July.

I am also waiting for replies from two agencies with my initial questions.  Stuff about how many adoptions they've done last year, how many of those were domestic.  What costs do the adoptive parents have to pay for towards locating a birth mother.  Things like that.  I sent the questions a day ago -- I hope they can answer the questions this week.

Site was hacked and will not be returning online.

This stinks.  Sorry, sir.

This is just me -- and please don't take it the wrong way.

If I was curious if this was a scam then I'd call my bluff.  I'd donate exactly 0.00000001 bitcoins.  It would cost a small amount for the transaction fee, but it would certainly tell you if this was a scam or not.  Then you could share the fact instead of a hypothesis.

(Sorry to be lighthearted about adoption.  It's very cool what you're doing.)

It's cool.  When I posted the message, I didn't mean for it to come across as a scam.

I liked TheAlchemist's response more and more now -- he's willing to donate to the agency.  That takes the possibility of fraud out of the equation.
