If you go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1326803.0, get cpuminer-opt, and use the appropriate version for your cpu. The batch file I use is below. Obviously, replace miner.worker with your own. Also, I believe you have to enable large pages, and run in administrator mode to use them. The -t 4 is for the number of threads your cpu has (mine has 4). C: CD\E-Currency Related\cpuminer-opt-3.6.5-windows cpuminer-aes-avx.exe -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://xmr-us.suprnova.cc:5222 -u miner.worker -p 1 -t 4 pause

I'm mining my CPU on Suprnova. I would need to know exactly what kind of CPU you have, your amount of memory, what OS, and whether it is 32 or 64 bit. I can only help in 64 bit Windows. I'm not aware of a CPU miner that runs in 32 bit.

The site is slow, but I did get through. It appears that they are out of inventory...again.

Let's say I wanted to add nheqminer for AMD APU mining. I'm aware that it won't be very efficient. How would I go about doing this? I already have the miner that does work on NiceHash. I'm assuming I'd have to edit a .json file somewhere.
Edit I found the MinerOptionPackage_nheqminer_CPU.json file in the internals directory. Interestingly enough, the only algo that shows up under NiceHash miner is cryptonight, even though nheqminer works just fine. Any ideas?

At the bottom of the main page is a link for email us. When I've used it in the past, they've always responded.

Thanks for replying. I'll answer what I can? I bought this second hand. This is a dual blade model. Was there more than the single and dual blade gridseeds? I am not aware of any, but that doesn't mean much. I have a 500 watt PS (I'll have to check the brand/quality, when I get home), it is the only item plugged into it. I'm using the latest BFGMiner. The batch file I'm using to run it is below: bfgminer --scrypt -S gridseed:all --set-device gridseed:clock=825 -o stratum+tcp://scrypt.usa.nicehash.com:3333/#xnsub/#skipcbcheck -u (wallet address) -p 1 ::pause
One thing of note, that I just thought of. I am on WiFi. I have no choice but to run on WiFi, as my roommate won't let me run an ethernet cable. I usually don't have dropouts, but do occasionally. I could browse the internet, at the time, but it was slow. Could this explain the error? I've been running this rig for a few months without difficulty, until now.

I'm getting the following error on a gridseed blade. "Error 111 connecting to 127.0.0.1:6379. Connection refused." Any idea how to fix this???

My guess is that you don't have enough ram, so it's using the hard drive as extra memory. Looking at some of the earlier posts, you'll see that each core requires 4GB of ram. Since you only have 8GB for your system (and Windows itself requires some of that), you cannot run -t 4 without swapping to the hard drive. It should be -t 1. It will be VERY slow; like less than 1 sol.

Ok, where to start... Monero is using the cryptonight algorithm, not scrypt. Aeon is using the cryptonight-lite algorithm. Zcoin, is yet another algorithm called Pure Lyra2. As far as asics (like this usb scrypt asic), I don't believe there are any asics for the cryptonight, cryptonight-lite, or Pure Lyra2. Those 3 algorithms are CPU/GPU mineable only. If you want to see what you can mine with this miner. go to coinwarz.com. Check the scrypt box, and uncheck everything else. It always shows bitcoin first, even though its not scrypt. Everything else shown will be. Hope this helps.

Let me put this another way. IF you can get the miner to run at 230kh/s without hardware errors, and leave it running for a full year, you'll make about $2.17, of which you will pay fees to sell the scrypt coin to bitcoin or cash. My miner refuses to run above 144kh/s without getting constant hardware errors. Running at that speed results in about $1.35 a year per miner. With a CPU there are other altcoins that are much more profitable than scrypt (monero comes to mind), but your new miners will not work with it. If you're not in it for the money and just having fun, have at it. If you're looking to make money, you'll earn just over 1/2 of a penny per miner per day. Peace...

Are these profitable to mine with?
Not even close. Even if your electricity is 5 cents per kilowatt hour, it still costs more to power the thing than it mines. It is a novelty at this point.

I cannot get the keyboard to come up to clear the line for the API key. Any ideas?

Hmm, even when I unselect cryptonight, the others refuse to benchmark. Grr.
|
|
|
CryptoNight sgminer not bench marking on any of my AMD cards across 7 systems... just sits there and does nothing. There isn't even a load on the card during that bench mark. I'm getting the same issue. It refuses to run the benchmarks from cryptonight on.

If I was to guess, I would guess that the Radeon 5450 is simply too old. I don't believe it is supported.

Out of curiosity, how are you running CGMiner?
|
|
|
What version of Windows are you using? I have v8.1 Pro, and my Gridseed blade is running just fine with the command I gave you. I didn't need to install any drivers (though it may have downloaded some). The other thing you can try is to use MultiMiner located at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=248173.0. It uses BFGMiner, but does all the locating of miners, and configuring BFGMiner automatically. I had good luck with it when I've run into troubles getting something to work.

Look at "SETTING UP USB DEVICES" at the official GitHub page for CGMiner located at https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer regarding USB connections requiring Zadig. It's about half way down the page. Also, according to https://litecoin.info/Mining_software CGMiner 3.7.2 is the last version to support GPU/scrypt mining. Newer versions are unable to use your Gridseed at all.

|
|
Ok, to begin with, CGMiner requires Zadig to connect via USB, if I recall correctly. You can get Zadig at http://zadig.akeo.ie/. IF you use BFGMiner, you do not need Zadig. I use BFGMiner for my Gridseed. If your Gridseed is this one https://www.amazon.com/Gridseed-Blade-Scrypt-Asic-5-5MHs/dp/B00KYG2NHI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482654204&sr=8-1&keywords=gridseed+blade, the command below should work (it does on mine). One thing to remember, if using notepad or similar to make a batch file, make sure word wrap is off. Everything but pause should be on one line. Also remember to use your worker name and password for Multipool. bfgminer --scrypt -S gridseed:all --set-device gridseed:clock=825 -o stratum+tcp://us-east.multipool.us:7777/#skipcbcheck -u (Replace with your worker username for Multipool) -p (Replace with your worker password for Multipool) -o stratum+tcp://us-west.multipool.us:7777/#skipcbcheck -u (Replace with your worker username for Multipool) -p (Replace with your worker password for Multipool) pause
