Whenever Ben opens his mouth, markets drops. So, that's why.

No yuribekey for you? I feel sorry for you but after last Mt Gox hack, you should have known better. Responsibility comes with greater freedom.

we should pursue all avenues of investigation. starting with finding the person who paid for the hosting of the site.
maybe we should put a bounty on his head We can ask Bruce Wagner to setup a bitcoin wallet that we can all donate to. the more money is in this wallet the more intensive poeple have for coming forward. turn his friends against him using btc!
Hmmmm that isn't a bad idea ....set up a "Reward" if he is caught sort of thing ...that way people who are close to him can turn him in ...good thinking I lost 0.5 bitcoins in this ordeal, but I'm willing to pledge 5 bitcoins into this reward pot.

Yes, most exchanges are going to have this feature in the near future, including margin accounts, shorts & options. Baby steps, security first.
Maybe you are right. My feeling is that this is not a high priority right now. But I am sure that it will be popular, specially for the miners that are heavily invested. Yep. I read this in an article. A lot of new and exciting things are happening. The truth is, two or three years down the road, the bitcoin scene is going to be very different from what it looks like today. I heard from a Trader that bitcoin scene today looks a lot like what wall street is like 10 to 15 years ago. Disorganized, no central structure... Forget the short term gyration, stick to the big picture. Best!

Get well soon, Bruce. We are all standing behind your back. Let us know if you need anything.

Me too. Keep doing what you do, Matt!

I'm worried about the effect of this on the bitcoin PR machine. Specifically - Bruce Wagner and onlyonetv's bitcoin show.
Love him or hate him - he does get the message out there. Unfortunately that message has often included mention of mybitcoin.
It's bad enough to lose one's personal holdings - but it's another level altogether when you introduce friends/family and small business owners and they then lose their money based on your recommendations/advice. (even if it's not strictly 'advice' - and you did hint that it was a bit 'wild-west')
I feel for him and anyone else in a similar situation. I do think Bruce has been a little too starry-eyed in some cases (e.g suggesting bitcoin 'seems to only go up' , and talking of potential huge values) but overall he's been doing a great job.
Whatever the final outcome with mybitcion - I hope Bruce and the team will continue with the show and their efforts to cast light on all things bitcoin.
+1 +2 +3 Couldn't have said it better myself.

Is it really lost? Has anyone checked out the blockExplorer to see if the coins have been shifted? We know that MyBitcoin's stash hasn't been shifted.

website is down, already?

lol Hahahaha!!!! Genius!

I'm not looking to fight, but I don't think there is much wrong with what I said. I feel sorry for all the people who have had their funds 'disappeared' on them like a bad con, but sometimes when you hear something so bizarre and so strange you just have to stop and think "wtf?".
"wtf" indeed. One thing after another is making the situation a lot more stressful. Anyways, I hope the Korean exchange is going well, Matthew N.W.

One of Bruce's accounts has about 250K bitcoins!
That's completely ignorant, no offense. I seriously doubt anyone who has $2.5 million dollars of anything would be silly enough to trust a random 'dude' with their funds, and if that's even a remotely accurate estimation of funds in MyBitcoin, running away with money just got boosted up to the top reason for the site being down. Good going. Dude, not so ignorant if you actually do some homework and have a listen to NPR's podcast. http://www.npr.org/blogs/money/2011/07/13/137795648/the-tuesday-podcast-bitcoin

We have a lot of bitcoin there..... ( as has already been reported in the press )...
rightfully so. One of Bruce's accounts has about 250K bitcoins!!! Bruce, could you contact MyBitcoin to see if they would appear on your show? This would add a new layer of legitimacy into the company... or else, we will be moving all our funds somewhere else.

I have two 6990s in my box, so there are 4 GPUs in total.
My question is, how come my GPU1 load is at 99%, while my GPU2, 3, 4 load are at 61%, 60%, 40% respectively?
They are all overclocked the same way.

The owner of Paxum is Octav Moise, you can look it up if you'd like to. Chris Mallick has absolutely nothing to do with Paxum. Wasn't Octav Moise the guy behind the 'Vimax' (penis enlargement patch) affiliate program that littered the Internet with web pages using the words "Vimax" and "scam" prominently so that people searching for "is vimax a scam" would find hundreds of pages that said it wasn't? (Spoiler: It was. The only ingredients in Vimax that will make any part of our body larger are starch and sugar.) This keeps getting better and better... Lulz... citizen investigation at best!

Yep, one instance for each gpu. Just want to make sure that I screwed the card in properly... since it's running so it looks like a hardware default problem.

I just purchased a pair of 6990 (2x) video cards from the same owner on Ebay and installed them to a new rig. By comparing the total number of shares submitted, these two "used" 6990s submitted at 50% less shares of what the two new 6990s.
Both rigs have the same setting...
I'm just wondering what is the deal... I didn't screw in the video cards properly or what? Or did previous owner properly fked up both cards?

Would be a huge buy-in if a major porn outlet starts accepting bitcoins. Someone on the forum is already reselling Reality Kings... I wonder if he is an authorized reseller.
