2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest Scam History in the Cryptocurrency on: December 10, 2022, 09:28:22 PM
Not one of the biggest scams but EthereumDark was a fairly successful scam:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2106405.0

I was one of the lucky ones that made $10K AUD from a $300 investment.

Most investors lost money though

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ftx hacker bought 7000 eth on: November 15, 2022, 07:05:57 PM
Ftx hacker bought 7000 eth just now…😱

Why is his wallets no frozen coinbase and usdt.

Stealing funds and buying eth. Weird! 😥

Any clear evidence for what your claiming? Who is the hacker and where he bought the ethereum using stolen funds from FTX?

Lot more questions can I ask from your statement.

Provide any article link and give appropriate details. Huh

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: staking is a type of mining? on: January 08, 2022, 09:27:19 PM
I stopped mining about 5 years ago as It's not really profitable in Australia as the cost of electricity is really high.

I personally have decided to only stake coins that don't have an unbonding time frame such as ADA and Tezos (XTZ).

Some projects such as ATOM, ICP and CRO have a minimum staking period or require 21 days to undelegate which potentially means missing out on profits from price swings on daily and weekly timeframes.

An example is ATOM/Cosmos, I could have made a decent profit or increased my holdings through trading if I'd traded rather than simply staked them

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What altcoin will go 10x this year? on: January 03, 2022, 07:14:33 PM
I think Songbird (SGB) has a good chance of making significant gains this year, the price is significantly down from it's all time high but has remained relatively stable for the last month or two and it feels like the bottom is in.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/songbird/

SGB is also very easy to stake using the Bitfrost wallet app.

https://flare.xyz/introducing-songbird/

It was airdropped to XRP holders and is the canary network for Flare which itself is due to be airdropped to XRP holders in the Q1 of this year.

SGB holders are also eligible to receive the ExFi airdrop.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple makes a $1 price bull set for 2022 on: December 23, 2021, 06:40:59 PM
Sologenic airdrop is happening tomorrow on binance exchange and other few exchanges too it's still possible for XRP to reach 1.3$ per one coin but what will happen after is unknown, actually this isn't the first airdrop that happened on binance exchange this year

It's highly likely that a lot of folks bought XRP in recent days and weeks specifically to be able to participate in the SOL airdrop tomorrow.

I expect there will be a lot of selling pressure once the snapshot is done and the price of XRP will go down
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Highest profitable altcoin for you in 2021 on: December 18, 2021, 05:57:23 AM
Avalanche, Cardano, polkadot and Atom have all made me a decent profit this year Smiley
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What was the first altcoin created? on: December 07, 2021, 09:44:16 PM
That’s what I’ve found in wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cryptocurrencies#Before_2013 . I’ve looked through coins and found out that the chronology of "borning" of first alts is the next one:
-   Namecoin (decentralized domain name management, 2011)
-   Litecoin (first memory-hard mining, 2011)
-   Peercoin (first proof-of-stake mining, created at the end of 2012)
-   Ripple (first release in 2012)
-   Primecoin (launched on 7 July 2013 by anonymous hacker and Peercoin founder Sunny King
-   Gridcoin (created on October 16, 2013 by Rob Halförd.)
-   Gogecoin ( introduced by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer as a "joke" at the end of 2013, in December)

That list is not a fully comprehensive one as Tenebrix,Fairbrix,Geistgeld and Solidcoin all came out in 2011

I mined solidcoin back in the day before the DEV said he was re-branding it to Microcash (which never happened), one of the DEV's (coinhunter) is a fellow Australian who lived in Melbourne at the time.

Giestgeld was an early alt, I'm not sure if it was the first (september 2011)

I mined some back in the day but it was a pita to setup the miner!

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICP token on: September 24, 2021, 10:50:49 PM
You can store ICP using the "Fido U2F" app in ledger live:

https://www.reddit.com/r/dfinity/comments/nacs7c/you_can_use_your_nano_ledger_as_your_physical/

I use it and have had no issues at all.

Hope that helps Smiley
I see, so ICP can't store in wallets like trustwallet, metamask or safepal? so currently there are only a few wallets that support such as "Fido U2F" does it only support hardware wallets?

As I understand it https://nns.ic0.app/ is the only official app and you need a dedicated security key to transact with it.

the Fido U2F acts a security key using the ledger, I would assume Trezor would work similarly

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I am not investing in Bitcoin, I am staying with Altcoins on: July 20, 2021, 10:45:54 PM
I am not investing in Bitcoin, I am staying with Altcoins

Why I am choosing altcoins is because bitcoin is now too much volatile and there is too much hype regarding Bitcoin, Altcoins will be recovered soon and will be hitting to new highs, but in case of Bitcoin, We are not sure that when this bubble explodes. Since we are not sure, investment in altcoin is only the safest option.

The best investment in NFT. I really like the platform that is coming out soon - Deedy Digital. Deedy will serve the growing world of digital artists, authors and collectors. Aiming to create the first cross-chain marketplace for NFT and digital content, where artists do not have to pay huge commissions and rely on intermediaries.

You've made 15 posts today alone in different threads shilling Deedy Digital which will likely put potential investors off rather than lure them in.

The days off bag holders dumping their stash on newbies and people who don't do their research are pretty much gone, investors are a lot more careful these days.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICP (Internet Computer) on: June 12, 2021, 02:34:19 AM
it seems that this trend will continue if the team does not deliver a product and a utility for their coin, I hope this will happen soon because the hype was so much on the occasion of the multiexchange listing.
I think it's not ICP's problem, they are still doing all they can to bring the project to the forefront and scale more. If the bad signals persist, I think this is also a good opportunity to buy it cheaply.

I made the mistake of buying 1 ICP at around $400 AUD but I've been buying more as the price tanked and just bought more today.

I think the project has great potential and I'm looking at as a long term hold
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What did I buy? on: June 10, 2021, 08:49:04 PM
I'm positive this was an ICO I just can't remember which one.... can anyone shed some light?
I have a feeling it was Tron ICO.
It wasn't Tron, it was Faceter ICO.

Faceter is worthless now, I bought about $100 worth during the ICO which is now worth cents

the last post in the Ann thread was in November 2020

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I lost all my crypto gains this not fair! on: May 22, 2021, 09:27:36 PM
I'm in a similar situation in so far as my portfolio dropped in value in dollars but rather than sell I spent a few thousand dollars buying the dip and bought more ADA, BNB, DOT, LINK, AVAX and other promising coins Smiley
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Blocknet just listed on the Pangolin DEX as $aaBlock on: May 14, 2021, 11:29:39 AM
Very interesting post! Thanks for sharing! A few questions...

1:

"Service Nodes receive 100% of trading fees. ... you need 5000 BLOCK to run a service node."

Does this mean the Blocknet runs entirely on service nodes? Can you mine $Block?

2:

How does Blocknet compare with other DEX and interoperability projects?

3:

Where can I find the Blocknet community?

There are already at least 12 threads in speculation about stakenet/XSN pretty much all from the same members (most of whom are newbies)

The majority of posts in all those threads are from newbies who seem to be very knowledgeable about crypto, dex's and stakenet which in itself is a red flag.

I would hazard a guess that a lot of those newbies are Alts of other more senior members holding bags of XSN.

I wouldn't invest a single cent in staknet regardless of how good it might be when it's so heavily shilled.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Non Fungible Token (NFT) questions on: March 19, 2021, 07:47:22 AM
For anyone who's curious about creating their own NFT you can do so very cheaply using the the Avalanche wallet:

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ethereum lose importance? Avalanche launches Avalanche – Ethereum Bridge on: February 09, 2021, 12:49:53 AM
Avalanche is definitely a promising project, it's ecosystem is being developed at a very fast rate. it wasn't even in the top 100 of coinmarketcap a few months ago and it's now ranked number 29.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/avalanche/

I personally think it's a contender for the top 10 in the not too distant future.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What are your predictions for the next Alt to pump after what happened to Doge? on: February 03, 2021, 06:53:56 AM
I would say BNB, and that is coming from someone who hates centralization as well. Normally if you told me I would eventually like BNB, I would call you crazy, but looking at the situation right now, I am not saying that at all, I think that is kind of the situation right now, BNB is so good that even people like me who hates centralized currencies could see himself investing a bit, I only have just 2 BNB right now which is nothing, but normally I never invested a single dime into it before this year.

However what they are doing with their website, and all those binance chain works they are pulling off has managed to make me a supporter, it is still very dangerous in my mind because if one day CZ says "I am taking all your money" that means we are done, now you may think "why would he do that?" but I just do not want to risk it, there is no reason.

I'm inclined to agree with you that BNB could do very well, I just think it'll grow organically rather than be one of the Alts that gets pumped.

In the short term I'm focusing on which other Alts might pump, specifically those haven't done so well the last few months such as TRX ,EOS and XTZ.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What are your predictions for the next Alt to pump after what happened to Doge? on: February 01, 2021, 06:44:13 AM
For the sake of transparency I hold the following Alts ($ value in descending order)
transparency ? wow but i guess its not going to be a big issue if you wont show whats in your portfolio but what can i do ? you already showed it .
doge was a coin that is being underestimated and a few thinks that it will pump again after its last pump that happened years ago and with that observation i came an answer that the coins that will pump next are like doge coin too , coins that are cheap, under estimated but have pumped before .
if you own or if your familiar to those coins you will know thier names .

I didn't disclose how much I held of each in my portfolio  Smiley

I was simply letting other members know which Alts I think have the potential to do well which I why I invested them, I was also curious what everyone else thought about which Alts were next to be pumped or increase in value

I noticed XRP and DOGE are going up again in the last 24 hours, maybe it's time for the long awaited Alt season  Smiley
