Well, do have some things in store, but we have this thing at bitember to not hype things before they're done.

Anyway, we at Bitember truly wants this coin to succeed so I have decided to go full public to alleviate some of the stress about the pre-mine. That way, if we do anything evil, you can come after me with torches and pitchforks Wink

Here we go!

I'm durilup, also known as lifeofcray on irc, reddit and twitter. My real name is Marcus Johnson and my facebook page is http://facebook.com/durilup

I'd post my myspace account if I actually remembered it. Most of these accounts are from between 2005 - 2008 and all of them have my real face on them. This was already easibly accesible information since my username on here is durilup as well. But might as well just post direct links. I will also be adding this information to potatocoin.net and memorandum 1.

And I promise you, we're trying to make the world a better place. And we truly want this to succeed. Thing is, as we said when we started this coin, this is not a pump and dump coin. So you won't get any hype from us. You will get results when they're ready. And remember, we're handling way more money at http://bitember.com every day than what we would get from trying to scam you guys with potatocoin. And if we did that our brand name would be tarnished forever.

Anywho, we do have a couple of things lined up for the end of November. You'll see what when it's ready.

Well, that's it for me tonight. If you got any questions, feel free to ask in the thread.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SPUDS] PotatoCoin: Sowing the change that Africa needs on: November 12, 2014, 11:19:17 PM
Also you need quite saturated soils for growing spuds so im not too sure about it being a main crop for Africa for obvious reasons.

I thought so too, but:
http://sweetpotatoknowledge.org/insights-from-the-field/

The genius that made this coin dont realise that in Africa they dont eat Potatoes they eat Cassava..
PotatoCoin is a coin for Ireland!

Not only they eat potato, they love ' em. http://cipotato.org/press-room/blogs/insights-from-the-field/

Yeah, they do, and it's not really about physical potatoes. It's about helping people. http://potatocoin.net for you who haven't read up on the coin

buy now while there still cheap. block reward getting lower every day

I agree buying now while it is still in POW is a great chance to accumulate some cheap SPUDS.. This coin has a mission and it should be supported by the Altcoin Community and those who care more about others too.

PLANNED PRE-MINE MOVE:

We're moving 2 000 000 coins, to our PR-guy, from the S +B premine so that he can work more autonomously while offering up bounties for articles, bloggers and other marketing stuff. The coins are moved to address PVE6qzwNBL8oZ8ZveJggi346QehJUwQPwH

Any and all coins he spends will still be logged into the excel sheet at potatocoin.net

3% pool rate is a bit high isnt it?

It's a fair price for a stable and reliable pool under a good brand name
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SPUDS] PotatoCoin: 100% backed by real potatoes on: October 28, 2014, 08:57:30 PM
some promotion?

We are planning some promotions as we speak, which we think will benefit everyone!
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SPUDS] PotatoCoin: 100% backed by real potatoes on: October 28, 2014, 08:56:35 PM
After some brainstorming among the development team, we have decided to increase the premine to 50% to ensure farmer control of the cryptocurrency. We will distribute these coins over a number of years in various countries, as opposed to all at once in Kenya.

this is brilliant!

1.  Where ever potato farmers are in most need + ability to 'linkup' then they can get potato chips?

2.  Slow distro, prove it works, document it case by case, get a well tested program of organizing local farmer groups/markets/local area coordinator. etc.  Why not start with a potato farmer nearest to us?  Swap them real potatoes for crypto potatoes, then in the spring they sell the cryptos to fund growning the next crop.

3.  basic crypto dev 101 stuff ... working code, active exchanges, growing community.

4. the international potato bank - spuds on deposit everywhere on planet Earth - "We'll Feed the World" (long term)

I would suggest you prove this a real deal.  There are ways to 'verify'.

And last the premine needs to be held by multi sig.

Still interested.

1.  Is there a SPUDS charity committee?
2.  Who holds the pre-mine?  addie?

I hold the premine. Makes most sense since i'm also the face of the coin, with most of the responsibility. There's not really a "committee" per se, but we do everything at Bitember as a team. I'm Lifeofcray on the IRC if you guys wanna chat with me.

there's http://gyazo.com/118252bcac626f1d88e3d38e78014148 @ potatocoin.net. There's also a block explorer at abe.bitember.com

235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SPUDS] PotatoCoin: 100% backed by real potatoes on: October 23, 2014, 09:25:52 PM
how your provment?

We're working on a spuds shop as we speak! We'll go public with it as soon as we can. Until then, have this screen shot:

It's more than a novelty than anything. But if you meet up with me in person i'll be happy to trade some real life spuds for SPUDS. As long as you don't bring like a bazillion of them
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SPUDS] PotatoCoin: 100% backed by real potatoes on: October 23, 2014, 09:22:56 PM
Alright! We had a serious question on the IRC that I tried to answer to the best of my abilities! It's worth a read!

[22:48] <@lifeofcray> i got 120k spuds
[22:48] <@lifeofcray> i'm thinking of transfering them here

[22:49] <@KeksMan> wow
[22:49] <@KeksMan> thanks
[22:49] <Charles_the_Gowl> Thanks
[22:50] <@lifeofcray> well, price is down to to
[22:50] <@lifeofcray> two
[22:50] <Charles_the_Gowl> When will the premine be dumped?
[22:50] <@lifeofcray> Charles_the_Gowl now!
[22:50] <Charles_the_Gowl> Okay.
[22:50] * @lifeofcray dumps 300 mil coins
[22:50] <@lifeofcray> naa
[22:50] <Charles_the_Gowl> lol
[22:50] <@lifeofcray> the plan on the premine
[22:50] <@lifeofcray> we got the "ATF" right
[22:50] <Charles_the_Gowl> I was just about to ask about the plan for the premine.
[22:50] <Charles_the_Gowl> Yes, the African Trust Fund.
[22:51] <@lifeofcray> that one will never go below what it started with
[22:51] <@lifeofcray> if you've noticed, the PoW goes down by like 4 sats per block
[22:51] <@lifeofcray> after that we're going pos
[22:52] <@lifeofcray> so the ATF will never go below starting value AND will only be used for things that can profit farmers in africa directly
[22:52] <VashTheStampede> new wallet on the way then?
[22:53] <@lifeofcray> any direct profits to potatocoin will go directly into the ATF
[22:53] <@lifeofcray> VashTheStampede there's still like 300 days left
[22:53] <VashTheStampede> oh ok
[22:54] <@lifeofcray> then we got the "Initial distribution to African farmers"
[22:54] <@lifeofcray> we'll try to sell the african people on potatocoin
[22:54] <@lifeofcray> there's already a precendent that they like bitcoin
[22:54] <@lifeofcray> but potatocoin is 30x faster than bitcoin in terms of transaction time
[22:55] <@lifeofcray> (bitcoin is 15 min, potatocoin is 30 sec)
[22:55] <@lifeofcray> but we'll try our best to get down there and try to convience them to exchange potatocoin for M-PEsA or local currency
[22:56] <@lifeofcray> any and all M-Pesa or local currency we get from that
[22:56] <@lifeofcray> we'll put into either investments for the future
[22:56] <@lifeofcray> like stock options or similar
[22:57] <@lifeofcray> or trade directly towards spuds
[22:57] <@lifeofcray> i.e if we trade 100 of their local currency for 2500 spuds, we take those 100 and buy spuds for those
[22:58] <@lifeofcray> those will go into the ATF
[22:59] <@lifeofcray> if that doesn't work out, we'll find another way to helpt the african community
[22:59] <@lifeofcray> but those coins are earmarked for just that
[23:00] <@lifeofcray> helping the african community, where infrastrucute is the #1 priority
[23:00] <@lifeofcray> alright, then we got the bounty + server costs bounty
[23:00] <@lifeofcray> about 15 mil spuds
[23:01] <@lifeofcray> so far we've only put up bounties for pools, exchanges and shops
[23:01] <@lifeofcray> but our plan is to deplete the bounty part of the premine before we go pos
[23:03] <@lifeofcray> some of the bounty (about 100 usd max) is planned to be used to register us as a financial NPO as well. In the country of Sweden
[23:03] <@lifeofcray> Swedish laws makes us eligable NPO status as it is
[23:03] <@lifeofcray> so we could technically call us an NPO legally
[23:04] <@lifeofcray> but we refrain from doin so as of yet
[23:04] <@lifeofcray> there will also be more bounties coming in the future
[23:05] <@lifeofcray> for things that we feel could help the coin
[23:05] <@lifeofcray> these projects could be anything
[23:06] <@lifeofcray> from game tournaments with the prize money in SPUDS or individual projects
[23:06] <@lifeofcray> we're going to have a brainstorm about this at a later date
[23:06] <@lifeofcray> and we're always listening to the communitys wants and needs as well
[23:06] <@lifeofcray> so if you have a suggestion, please tell us
[23:07] <@lifeofcray> but yeah, that's about it
[23:07] <@Phil_3x> !tip AndChat|64721 10
[23:07] <@Phil_3x> hi AndChat|64721
[23:08] <@lifeofcray> also, we stake the bitember brand name and reputation of this coin
[23:08] <@lifeofcray> and i've also used my real name (Marcus)
[23:09] <@lifeofcray> and with my Bitcointalk username (durilup) you should have no problem finding my youtube or facebook page
[23:09] <@lifeofcray> so we're quite serious
[23:11] <@lifeofcray> Charles_the_Gowl does that answer your question?
[23:13] <@lifeofcray> or do anyone else have a question?
[23:13] <@lifeofcray> anything at all, i'll try to answer it to the best of my abilities
[23:16] <Charles_the_Gowl> It answers my question, lifeofcray. Thanks.

If anyone of you have any other question, feel free to ask! I'll try my best to answer anything
