102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The IRS decision and the Bitcoin foundations opportunity to redeem itself on: March 27, 2014, 02:02:32 PM
We keep getting told that the purpose of the Bitcoin foundation is to lobby governments and push for adoption.
If there was ever a time when a decision needed the voice of the community to protest this would be it.

Is there a member of the bitcoin foundation willing to detail their plans for countering this new development?

Its gonna take quite a bit more than them to do anything.  The IRS dealt the death blow.

113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin insurance on: March 24, 2014, 04:08:32 PM
Quite, I've yet to see any evidence that Xapo's insurers are insuring against loss of customer BTC through theft or incompetence on behalf of Xapo.
Is there some reason you don't consider the statements they make on their website to be evidence? From https://xapo.com/#aboutVault
Yes, I would need for Meridian Insurance to put out a statement that they are insuring Xapo against loss of bitcoins under those circumstances. I'd also want to know more about Meridian Insurance.

Unfortunately people lie, so we will never be able to have 100% trust. But that would go some small way.

why dont you just look at Xapo's backers.  You think Fortress is going to risk their reputation defrauding people out of small amounts of bitcoin?
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To Bitstamp: Gox's coins are being sold on your exchange on: March 23, 2014, 04:38:22 PM
even if they are, it is not bitstamp's fault/responsibility.  That goes in the face of the whole decentralization of bitcoin.  Mt Gox was negligent, that is a centralized problem/loss, that shouldnt spill over into affecting other businesses in the same space.
115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why so few Mt gox threads on: March 23, 2014, 03:28:47 PM

116  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cloud Whale - Small group, large investors - control the market! Be a whale! on: March 23, 2014, 03:28:15 PM
I'm looking to start a group of large investors, 5-15 investors, 3 BTC minimum; who can be trusted to follow a schedule and invest as a group.  Think of it like an investment fund where you keep your own BTC (and your own promises).  I don't want your BTC.  I want to band together to decide when we will control a market on a specific coin; and when we will make moves in coordination.  We don't have to be individually rich to be the wolves of crypto!  PM me to get on the list; I just need your commitment and your BTC wallet so I can confirm your balance.  After that, we'll group together by skype to schedule investments.  I may get haters for this; but I'm all about the markets and profiting for myself and my group.

what strategies will you run besides "trying to corner the market"?
