1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Myriad [1st Multi-PoW] | REQUIRED UPDATE 0.9.2.6 on: November 03, 2014, 02:12:58 AM
Thanks - seemed to be updated but got stuck at 741,457

tried -reindex but get this message back
Method not found (code -32601)
(just to be certain - just exactly where do you enter the "-reindex" ?- in the debug window?)

Electrum wallets going all good now (thanks Foodies)

Cheers

-reindex is a command line option when starting the wallet (as far as I know).  If the myriadcoin-qt.exe  is in the search path then,  myriadcoin-qt  -reindex  from a command prompt should do it.

Make sure you make a backup the wallet.dat   to a USB or something.   Deleting the peers.dat file got me synched up (as recommended by 8bitcoder in the IRC).  I think peers.dat is in the same folder as wallet.dat and myriadcoin-qt  which would be  in  c:\users\%username%\Application Data\myriadcoin\

I use Linux so I'm not 100% sure but I have another coin's wallet in a Windows XP machine and that's the structure of the folders/subdirectories.

Good luck.  Smiley

the linux path is ~/.myriadcoin/

Code:

Electrum wallet is safe for use as far as I know ... someone that uses one should test sending 1 myr from electrum to qt and vice-versa.

you can also use that dns as a node.
refer to reddit for faster updates.

How do i import my elecrum wallet into this one?

As far as I know you will have to send the coins from your Electrum wallet to your QT wallet.

Make sure both are on the correct chain before doing this.

This explorer is on the correct chain:

The problem is I cant get my electrum wallet to connect since a couple of hours ago. Can i change any settings that will make it connect again?

ON IT.

thanks bordb - all fixed - working better than before............

is anyone fixing the MYR Electrum wallet issues - they just wont work at all now - looks like a server issue?  Server Electr.us is 2 blocks behind is mssg - all transactions give error wont send - and will not update balances etc - at least yesterday they still sent (but did not update balances).

Hey, my name is foodies nod bordb ... that's my reddit alias Smiley)

Means the coin has enabled merge mining as a child coin.

What it is auxpow?

Any thoughts on this guys?

you mean adding the quark algo and aux pow to myriad ?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coin is not a blatant shitcoin, seriously? on: September 24, 2014, 03:56:40 PM
Myriad because multi-pow offers enhanced blockchain security and fair distribution catering to 5 different niches and allowing gpus fgpas asics and cpus to coexist on the same blockchain. Also slow distribution and halving and no scammy shit going on like production cuts and premines and ipos or stuff like that.

Has the SMS wallet ever been implemented or is it still in "private beta" stage? If it's the latter, I'm going to be extremely pissed off Smiley

there is still no secure decentralized way to do the service, a simple sms wallet could be done in days but that would be the same as an online wallet with an sms interface so basically a hot wallet that can be broken in at any time.

What the fork is going on with this coin?  Please update.

I don't think we're seeing forks - what's happening is that clients are stalling at random intervals - every 48hrs or so I'm seeing. The block explorers are seeing the same problem and don't have a watchdog to restart them. It's an annoyance and I haven't figured out why it is happening yet, but it's a not an existential issue.

The major issue is how to decentralize the randomness. I have some thoughts on how this can be done, but not sure how I'm going to gel it with LTS yet.

Current thinking -

Use the block finders for extra randomness.

SERIOUSLY WHAT ?

that has nothing to do with myriad, most of the myriad pools are run by community members not some shady two bit hustlers ... that's a dgb matter.
10  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [NEW] Bitcoin Engine for any peice of software with currency. on: September 01, 2014, 10:56:10 AM
use colored coins or counterparty to issue the currency.

Last transaction received was 17th August. 5 transactions on blockexplorer since then but electrum won't receive it although its indicating its fully synced. It stopped at block 508031. Electrum v3
Electrum problem guys, hold out for a little longer. The Electrum dev is out of town. There might be other guys who can help you if you join the IRC (##myriadcoin of freenode)

Transaction went through! Electrum on current block! Good job guys as always  Grin

My node was frozen, I updated and it seems transactions whould be running smooth, sorry ... hectit times.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient Proof of HDD Capacity Mining | No IPO, No Pre on: August 15, 2014, 06:53:26 PM
Wait, how is this work globaly verifiable by peers, how do you know my miner isn't modded to just relay random data until something stivks and I get a block ?

my simplified answer is, you broadcast ur account number and ur selected nonce to network, these two numbers can be verified into deadline value, so yes you can just broadcast any data (nonce and account number), but i doubt you want to broadcast random account number since you wont receive ur reward, and for nonce yes it is just random value, we select it which one has lowest deadline value

edit : i think nonce is not so random, because they are relevant scoop for each block (depend on previous block hash), i am not sure, we need to read the implementation, its just based on OP post

but if nonce isn't a globaly verifiable var you can just hash with your address and random var that match the nonce schema and spam the network until something sticks... I haven't looked at the source because java but I'd really like an answer to this because if it trully is a reliable hashing scheme it could be very big.

Do you have a massive adoption plan? By a company like Zeta coin?

thats normal ....Huh

Looks like it was a temporary frontend problem. Blocks seem to have been found and paid out for.

We have been having a couple issues where the new daemons (since 0921) are getting stuck on warnings, locking up the crons. We are watching it closely.

are you sure you have all the required dependecies versions like leveldb and such ?

So much development, so many news... but price still continuously falling into a bottomless pit....

Not sure if myriad is the best buying opportunity of all altcoins,
or the whole altcoin scene is just completely CRAZY!!!

You see, we work backwards... when the price goes down that means we're all actually getting richer! We don't want the price to go up!

wat ?

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Multi-vPoW - Myriadcoin's Solution to Parasitic Merge Mining on: August 07, 2014, 09:16:36 PM
I have a question it doesn't directly relate to the topic but more to vPoW-
let me give you a scenario - :

is there an attack vector that exists here:

lets say we have for example 3 "algos"

1. Xa

2. Xb

3. Xc

now (in this world) - there is a beautiful community developed CPU and GPU miner for both

what this miner does is it can mine each of the 3 and choose the lowest diff of each -

is there a potential attack vector where the miner can "game" the next block i.e by jumping form aglo to aglo -

so exploited some how the way in which the next block is determined?

sorry for the newb question.

what i'm asking is:

what is the mechanism that determines the next block is it really random?

None, the block hash is generated and can be solved by any of the algos. It's just a matter of difficulty vs hash power.

Future plans for myriad?

price is going to 0 satoshis....

replacing bitcoin in it's initial goal ... bring crypto to the people ... massive adoption ... you know, the usual.

who is dumping?
i get over 10M MYR now,am i the last hand?

8M here, yes, we are the 'last two hands' . Sad.

Out of almost 500M myr currently in existence, you each own ~0.2% of the total coins in existence. Pretty sure there must a be a few more 'hands' lying around somewhere.

The rest are ARMS not feeble hands.
