Hi friends, I'm new to the forum and I need to make a couple of posts it before I can play with the big kids. Since all newbies are apparently children that need to be fenced off in a paddling pool I thought it would be appropriate to share my interpretation of Bitcoin expressed through children's literature.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar (Bitcoin) By Eric Carle

In the light on the moon a little egg lay on a leaf.
One Sunday morning, the warm sun came up and POP! – out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.
He started to look for some food. On Monday he ate through one apple, But he was still hungry.
On Tuesday, he ate through two pears, But he was still hungry.
On Wednesday, he ate through three plums,
But he was still hungry.
On Thursday, he ate through four strawberries,
But he was still hungry.
On Friday, he ate through five oranges,
But he was still hungry.
On Saturday he ate through one piece of chocolate cake, one ice-cream cone, one pickle, one slice of swiss cheese, one slice of salami, one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake, and one slice of watermelon. That night he had a stomachache!
The next day was Sunday again. The caterpillar ate through one nice green leaf, And after that he felt much better.
But now he wasn’t hungry anymore. And he wasn’t a little caterpillar anymore. He was a big fat caterpillar.
He built a small house around himself, called a Cocoon, And he stayed inside for more than two weeks.
Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out, and
He was a beautiful butterfly.
The End

I realise it's not as good without the pictures, but bear with me.
Sunday represents Satoshi giving birth to Bitcoin, a tiny scared little thing, very hungry for hashing power.
Monday-Friday shows Bitcoin feeding on early adopter interest and investment capital.
Saturday is right now! Bitcoin is feeding on everything, and getting very big, stomach aches a plenty!

The cocoon represents regulation, slowing Bitcoin's feeding frenzy and further growth.
Lastly, Bitcoin manages to nibble through this cocoon and emerge as something more improved and beautiful than the caterpillar it once was!

If there are any other newbies that feel like getting their post count up, have a chat, share your analogy, the more obscure the better  Cheesy
