What is meant by “bot net” ? Some people illegally controlling a lot of other people's machines for mining? If so, the mine pool program can solve this problem. yup maybe but such miner have to take big resources/disck space to be successful. And what about creating 100 x VPS to mine Hotcoin ? EG. something like Digitalcloud. At some price lvl that can be also problem. Simple solution 10 miners per IP ^^to deter VPS farms... Yes, it should be not small cost (do for bot net).
