In this "quick internet, paranoia, i want it now, 9/11, internet life style" no wonder that actually only 100? people of how much 60000 accounts? are pissed at mtgox, because they waited 4 more days for funds, because they logged in on public computers or with 91% cpu load all the time without even thinking that they may got some nasty stuff when they downloaded brand new PC game, for free of course.

But maybe I am wrong and we all know everything about security of PCs and stuff.

I have been waiting from 4-12 days (2-8 business days), but got it eventually.

First it takes them a day or so to go to the bank and then few days that actual transaction takes place.

In "all" fields there is a problem with journalism, since reporters usually do not understand technology, concept, idea, ... and have very limited time to do work, research or something (not to mention they have to look really smart, since they are working for big corporation, from which they get salaries, ...).

25  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: JSON API Question on: June 14, 2011, 08:42:39 PM
I realize this is probably not the place to ask this, but my newbie status prevents otherwise.

I'm currently developing a website that will accept bitcoins, and at first glance, what makes the most sense is to run my own instance of bitcoind on the server that hosts the site, and use the json api to send and recieve bitcoins.
My main issue with doing so, is that currently, I don't see a good way to handle receiving bitcoins. The best option I can see is to continuously poll bitcoind to check for new transactions. Am I missing something?

Are there any plans in the future for a feature of bitcoind to notify over JSON-SSL when a new transaction has a certain number of confirmations?
After briefly flipping through the source code, it doesn't seem like this would be a major task.

If you are on a hurry (like most web developers are:)), right now checking bitcoind every now and then would be the easiest way to implement.
