I sent an email to support a month ago and still haven't gotten any reply. Has anyone else gotten any replies from support?

Hi all,

I am wrapping up a long trip (30 days) in which I got to see a good friend, Erik Voorhees, get married in Denver. It was a great event and I got to talk to some of the coolest people in the bitcoin space. I then went to NY, after a brief stop in LA, to work on some exciting features which are in the pipeline. NYC is still as much of a vibrant hub of bitcoin activity as ever. I spoke at the BitDev meetup group, which is one of the most interesting meetup groups in the whole space. I also visited the Bitcoin Center to check out my baby, Satoshi Square, which is still kicking and bringing bitcoins to the average joe on the street.

Sorry I haven't been around very much lately, I am headed home to Panama tomorrow morning, and I will be posting more regularly. It is pretty tough to keep up with this forum while on the road (especially given how terrible this forum software is for searching, etc).

I do want to add, however, that this is not the primary way to receive an answer to a question. I saw some examples of people asking questions, which are already answered on our site, and then having this pointed out to them by more knowledgeable posters. This is the way this forum works, and while we are happy to engage with the community, and are always listening to suggestions, complaints and compliments, if you need help, your best bet is always going to be support@bitfinex.com (after reading the FAQ and our Announcements, of course).

I see this forum as a place to address large scale issues, engage in conversation on the direction of Bitfinex, and where we can post announcements of new features or policies. It is not our support system, although I do love seeing our customers engage with each other to share tips on how to get the most out of our platform.

Happy Trading,

Josh Rossi

I've sent support@bitfinex.com several emails in the past 3 weeks and gotten no reply.
3  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: GAWMiners.com fucked me over. Be wary in dealing with them. on: October 09, 2014, 03:42:21 PM
You ALL seem to be missing the point. I realize that it was my fault for clicking "YES", but there is no reason that I shouldn't have been able to remove them instantly, which the portal would not let me.
Very likely because somebody purchased them immediately.  The portal wouldn't let you because they were no longer yours to remove from the market.
There is no possible way that anyone could have purchased them in the amount of time between when I clicked "Sell" and then "Remove from Market". It was literally a split-second, and I continued to click "remove from market" for at least 2 minutes before it actually sold. So I don't think that is what happened.

It would be very easy for someone running a script set up to buy any hashlets at a big discount to buy it in a split second.

Also I just checked, you need to hit "Sell" then "Confirm" then "Confirm" again. I'm not sure what you expect them to do other than disallowing people from selling at the price they want.

how would one create a script like this?

Have it scrape the offers page continuously. Once an offer appears low enough have it automatically buy it.

I've been waiting 2 weeks for a reply from support@bitfinex.com. I send an email a week ago to contact@bitfinex.com asking for an update and they said they would forward it to IT but no update since. Anyone else able to get through to them?

Derek you have 2 misconception

1: You own the shares when you lend out and you would earn dividend
2: The system is shitty that it tracks balance of wallet to determine, as previous post mentioned there was an out going transaction from the mining wallet thus this happened. Blame unclescrooge.

@superbit
It is a complicated (yet buggy) system

Ah thanks, I'm not totally sure how that leads to a negative balance though. I'll start going through your earlier posts.

Bitfinex really needs to get their house in order. Between earlier this week my market orders taking 10 minutes to go through and not canceling, not replying to support emails and now this I'm considering finding a new exchange for the first time since I got onto Bitfinex a year ago.

Was anyone else just paid negative dividends on their TH1?!?!

I now have a negative balance in my trading account. I am lending my TH1 out but I'm not doing any margin trading.

Thanks for the tip on btc trader. Are they Trustworthy.

Depends who you ask. I've used them for about 5 months now and they have made every payment (every weekday except for bank holidays) and at the end of each 120 day term I have received my principle back. The website is clean and looks good. Their customer service is prompt and they have a facebook group in which several of the employees respond to questions and comments daily. They have also sponsored multiple major bitcoin conferences and are currently part of a cross-country (USA only) promotional tour. They are also planning to undergo and audit near the end of August, carried out by a London accounting firm (the CEO is based out of London). So yes, I think they are trustworthy.

If you look around the forums, you will see a lot of people calling them a HYIP scam, but in my opinion, most of these people have not actually investigated the website too closely and think the daily return is too good to be true or they are trying to promote some other competing website.

If you have any other questions feel free to PM me. I feel like I shouldn't be clogging up this thread.

USD Swap rate really low now. You guys think it will go up again?

Yes, but not till the price starts going up. Even if the price crashes the swap rate will go up while the price is recovering. I do think in the long term the rate will continue to go down as more people with money use the site as even 0.1%/day is absurdly good by most standards (~44% APR if compounded daily). At this rate you could even take out a bank loan and loan it out and still make a profit. That said, while the price is going down I'm putting some cash in bitcoin-trader https://bitcoin-trader.biz/?ref=dhorks since they've been paying ~0.8%/day lately.

You can back your principal after maturity period expires and this period is 4 months. At the top of that you can daily profits, only during business days, no weekends, which you can withdraw each day.

Willing to wager on this trust you have in bitcoin-trader.biz? Two to One odds:

I will deposit 0.5 BTC and you deposit 0.25 BTC. If bitcoin-trader.biz is still around in 120 days from now, you get it all. If not, I get it all.

Deal?

Just saw this, I'd totally be up for this bet. How would you want to carry out the bet?
