4  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have .5 BTC, what mining hardware should I buy? on: May 25, 2014, 01:25:57 AM
I wouldn't bother with graphic card mining. it cost me about $2000 to build a decent mining rig running x4 R9 280x's. i'm in the process of selling off the graphics cards because it's no longer profitable to mine with them anymore with the increase in difficulty and the drop in price of alt coins across the board you will not even break even.

I tried to mine solo, keep getting invalid credentials, tried the usual running the wallet as a server, conf file looks ok, batch file ok. flushed dns still can't solo mine.
only ever happened to a few coins in the past, anyone successfully solo-mining?

I have the same issue. Ever figure yours out? Only happened for 1 other coin for me.
Sorry no I couldn't figure out what is wrong. Possibly there is an error in the wallet code.

I used to trade on Scifi exchange https://www.scifi-ex.com might be worth contacting them, seeing as there are more than a few treckkies on there.
They've even got a Borg flappy game on there now.

Why the wallet is  a few weeks ago?

Wallet was created last month but was only launched today. We had to make sure that it is working and bug free as far as we know.
There are only 2 of us in the dev team at the moment that's why it took us a long time to launch it.

hope that answers your question.

ozzymax

i get the same error on cgminer 5
i'm currently using cgminer 7 on this, try it.

or you can always do it from the debug window but would be wayyyy slower coz you're only using the cpu instead of the gpu

cheers

Thanks, I'm using cgminer 3.7.2 I'll try something else Good launch by the way - to infinity and beyond Wink
Edit: I'm on the pool for now finding lots of Borgy blocks. Smiley
