181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any miner who have not sold any bitcoin from the beginning? on: August 15, 2021, 04:41:36 PM
Mining has become a business and it’s growing. It has daily expenses and for that miners need to sell their BTC to cover up electricity bill and other cost if exists. But is there any known miner who has not sold their BTC for a single time who is mining for a long time now? We know there are addresses which haven’t moved their BTC for a long time. Is any miner included in the list?
As you were even tell, the expenses for this mining activity is quite massive up to the point that you need a really big chunk of money for your mining investment. Many miners mine just to have a certain coin then sell it for their mining expenses and profit. Unless you have a good career outside mining, you can't sustain the electricity power demand for your mining. Another expenses is your maintenance for your rigs. So yeah, I doubt that anyone mines just to hoard.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't give your bitcoins to scammers on: August 15, 2021, 04:33:26 PM
quite surprised that there are still many people who are deceived by the fake giveaway program....even though there's been a lot of news about this kind of fake giveaway, the greedy and stupid ones are still there.

A lot of these scams are appearing and even uses any big exchanges as their marketing strategy. I saw this Telegram group having Thousands and their members are having conversations about sending their BTC and thanking the team for sending back their BTC added by 10% as an airdrop. It was very sketchy though as their conversation flow was always the same. I just hope newbies here do not make a mistake by sending BTC to any malicious address. Don't be greedy guys.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why hoard Bitcoin? on: August 15, 2021, 04:26:36 PM
Because of the value of Bitcoin, people will hoard it,
Take me as an example. I will invest 20% of my salary in Bitcoin because I think Bitcoin is very valuable and I believe in Bitcoin, so I think Bitcoin is worth investing in.
But if you let me buy something with bitcoin, I will hesitate and pay with fiat currency first.
Although people can pay in any way, will Bitcoin be your first choice?
Now the difference between fiat currency and Bitcoin is that one is inflation currency and contraction currency. Inflated currency (fiat currency) means that if it inflates, you want to get rid of it as soon as possible. For example, we use fiat currency to buy things, invest in real estate, cryptocurrency, stocks. And to shrink the currency (Bitcoin) you buy goods or services, or hoard it. This has no effect on the economy, except to reduce the monetary base and make the currency more scarce, so deflation is faster.
In my opinion, Bitcoin is a store of value, not a currency. There may be cryptocurrencies becoming legal tender, but not now, volatility and supply and demand need to be considered.
Bitcoin has now evolved from being a payment system without intermediary to a store of value. Yes, I agree that it will really fluctuate and its price will still be on rise added by more adoptions happening these days. Its features are unique and somehow the trust built within is quite immersive. Unlike any fiat currency, its total supply will never change.
184  Economy / Economics / Re: "Crypto is no longer in the early adoption stage" on: August 15, 2021, 02:35:19 PM
USA is in fact almost at the bottom and Nigeria is the king in terms using and having even 1 crypto so I believe we are still early in this space.

Loool, the joke of the year... Usage? Where in Nigeria is this usage we're talking about that puts USA to shame??

Maybe in the LN network?

Quote
United States
Capacity 1,024.480212410 BTC (45.012%) $47,444,754.34 Node Count 1,273 (8.99%) Channel Count 18,315 (28.35%)
Nigeria
Capacity 0.003562530 BTC (0.000%) $164.98 Node Count 3 (0.02%) Channel Count 3 (0.00%)

It must bein the companies investing in Bitcoin then, too bad I haven't heard from on Nigeria company doing so, numbers of ATMs, a number of nodes, hashrate, where is the usage you're talking about?
One example of how Nigeria mops the flor with the USA on usage? One!

I was referring from this article made by yahoo.finance https://tinyurl.com/c7zd7c6e. They got their data's from statista which I cannot find first hand. I somehow agree that USA has the most BTC but still most of them are whales not regular citizen. We are talking about popularity and utility and not total btc volume by country due to the difference of economic status between the two.
185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin a good investment in this pendamic situation? on: August 14, 2021, 02:34:54 PM
Crypto currency is one of the best investment platform in whole world. Where bitcoin is more profitable and secure investment which we have already proven. So in this pendamic situation those who wants to hold an asset that's resistant to inflation may find investing in bitcoin will be a good idea. Because Where the central banks of any country have the permission to print infinite amount of fiat currencies on the other hand the quantity of bitcoin is fixed in number and limited by its supply capped at 21 million. I think demand is more than supply is applies for bitcoin so in this pendamic situation bitcoin will be a good investment.
It is. COVID-19 surely helps a lot in terms of popularity of Bitcoin to become mainstream which eventually hit an all time high of nearly $65K. In this pandemic, the realization of the people in terms of utility and use of electronic money is quite immerse that it overwhelms the supply. In my own opinion, it is really wise to have atleast 1 Bitcoin in our portfolio and accumulate more and more no matter what the price is. It is a digital gold that would forever appreciate in price.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Binance too big to fail? on: August 13, 2021, 03:48:02 PM
Unless it's compromised, Binance would still be on top. The advantage using binance is that its early adoption upon taking No KYC rule for small traders. It invites more people in their platform which is probably the majority(small traders) and now produce their own blockchain with less fees compare to ETH. I like how they established everything in just a matter of 4 years and they really know what the general public wants. Fast transaction. Less fees and No KYC for small traders.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: you are interested low market cap coins that ? on: August 13, 2021, 03:31:50 PM
There are many. but what I really invested in was only a few.
The low market cap coin to i'm invest in this tokens.
Banana (ape swaap)
ClVA (Clever Defi)
SFound (seedify found
EOS

for now my portfolio is more dominated by big coins like bitcoin, ethereum and BNB. because nowadays it is safer to invest short term. daily trading is better at this time, although the profit earned is small but we can continue to monitor the market and minimize risk
I am looking for possible gems at lower cap space these past few months. I've stumbled upon looking that NFT's and Token generating games are a trend now so I have joined and invest in some. CiFi is probably one of the best out there having 5M market cap which is very low. They are creating a gamefi and launching in steam in end of Q3. They have a very big potential for skyrocketing.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Have you given up on airdrop? on: August 13, 2021, 03:28:22 PM
There isn’t anything on the space, nothing, except scam, have you given up or do you still cope and looking for airdrop?

Airdrop participated: 20
Airdrop received to this day: 0
Yes, you heard me, nothing at all, not even one airdrop, that’s how red pilled the space.
Yeah I did and tried to join bounties instead. Well, there are so many airdrop related Telegram groups right now in TG having almost hundred of thousands followers. Somehow I also saw this project called Aerdrop where holders were given airdrops by its platform. I also would like to acknowledge that there are legit airdrops in the market right now where out of 10 that I joined, I got 3 out of it which is not bad. I think its just a matter of luck.
189  Economy / Economics / Re: "Crypto is no longer in the early adoption stage" on: August 13, 2021, 02:58:23 PM
The cryptocurrency industry started with the launch of Bitcoin in 2009 and then flourished in the following years with various assets and blockchain-based solutions. According to Stephen Stonberg, CEO of Bittrex Global, this is no longer in its infancy.
“I think we’re already past the stage of crypto early adoption,” Stonberg told Cointelegraph adding:
“Crypto has now gone mainstream. We have double-digit percentage adoption in both developed and developing countries. We even have Bitcoin adopted as legal tender in a country and many other countries are considering adopting Bitcoin as legal tender.”
Bitcoin has also become a very common investment, as a number of large companies such as Microstrategy have invested in these assets.

I somehow disagree. With the current banning of cryptocurrency in other countries, we are still not even in the middle of its peak. Data's also shows that developing countries use cryptocurrency more than those with developed countries. USA is in fact almost at the bottom and Nigeria is the king in terms using and having even 1 crypto so I believe we are still early in this space.
190  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor and middle class as a mentality on: August 12, 2021, 04:29:36 PM
Some people are born rich or moderately rich, some are born middle class and some are born poor or extremely poor. All these conditions come along with a set of survival guides that the parents, relatives and even teachers will pass along as a map of life. For example, in a school of a country that does not give opportunity to its people, where most of the students are poor, it is unlikely that the teachers will induce them to think big or have big dreams...more likely they will aim to keep them apart from drugs, avoid problems with the government and try to imbue some basic skill for life. The ultra-poor do not even get that - which actually may be better.

In a preppy school, where most of the students are rich-born, the conversation is quite different. Culture, life, opportunity, spirit-de-corps and class mentality are imbued in the same manner, so the kids will somehow justify in their minds that they have the right to be rich even if they have not done anything for anyone in their lives - perhaps not even for themselves - because of some Darwinian property of cosmos.

As a result, the poor and even middle class have to jump over one real barrier, their lack of funds, and more importantly, like the Elephant that learns young that he cannot break the chains and never tries again, over their own state of mind, their own prison set by the terms of those who trying to help taught them to avoid anything but doing the same that keeps them poor.

I somehow agree with some of your statement. I was raised in a middle class family where studying is a priority. In school we are taught how to follow rules and regulations and for me its a preparation for us to become a good workers. We are taught and being mold to become workers and not to reach the highs. It is hard to fight back in this manipulation by governments, its like we are destined to work for others and not for our own selves. By this, it's just a matter of dedication and skills to set free to these chains and build your own legacy. It's up to us whether we work for others or we work for our own company.
191  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin doesn't care about Tesla and Amazon on: August 12, 2021, 04:21:38 PM
News that comes out definitely helps spread words about Cryptocurrency and eventually could help the existing price action. I know that many of us here really hates how Musk spread Fud about BTC that leads to sudden price declination but we have to remember that Elon spread the word in his 59M followers in Twitter. I doubt that this price action however was because of Tesla and Amazon itself. I believe it was due to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey talks with Elon and Ark Invest CEO Catherine Wood which leads to FOMO in newcomer investors.
192  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto vs Fiat on: August 12, 2021, 04:14:11 PM

If you understand this picture, congratulations, if you don’t , then you don’t understand money , no matter how much you have in the bank.
#Bitcoin  is down 4% today. But next few months BTC could pump 400%.  Pump or dump, storing your money in crypto beats saving up in the bank.
Bitcoin is indeed the digital gold. Aside from being a utility one, BTC is now becoming one of the best asset anyone could have. Many people are now seeing it as an store of value asset and likewise as an investment. Saving money in your piggy bank or typical banks will definitely lose its value and that's where BTC comes in. However, I doubt your 400% increase in value. Btc however pumps up for over 300% since last year and that's good enough.

195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Bitcoin and hold it: 180% annual yield on average since the first halving on: August 05, 2021, 11:16:52 AM
I just hope it was accurate. I believe we are in almost a heights of what BTC should be. 100K for me is the highest price that BTC could reach. I don't think it could hit a million within 10 years. It's just me considering the Market cap.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are MEME Coins A NEW Trend on: August 05, 2021, 10:53:48 AM
With the rise of Doge Coin, there have been countless MEME coins launch on different platform.
What are you thoughts on meme coins? Are they bad for the industry? Or Are they a gateway drug for newbies to enter the game?
Aside from DeFi and NFT's, many projects right now are derive from Doge which is a meme coin. Same vision and features. What makes me laugh with these meme coins is that they have this feature that the more you hold, the more you will earn. Most of them have taxed every transaction and distribute the collected tax. Elon Musk have created this phenomenon.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is NFT still hot??? on: August 05, 2021, 10:48:15 AM
I have been following NFT for a while and have noticed that the emergence of some animal coins has disrupted the market. Will the market be more stable in June?
Yeah it is. I believe there are many projects that is emerging to create NFT marketplace and more and more artists are into it now. Not just artist but even altcoins are creating for their ecosystem. Probably next year or so, it will fade.
198  Economy / Economics / Re: China - everything is fine! But everything is bad ... on: August 05, 2021, 06:58:00 AM
"... China, in order to become the first power in the world and the world financial center, had to deny the Communist Party (CCP) a monopoly on capital. This did not happen, from my point of view, China failed its civilizational choice. no, we'll see in fifty years.
The CCP, after decades of being a freeman named Deng Xiaoping, is tightening the screws on all of its entrepreneurs. It is still possible to earn money, it is already forbidden to receive a representation for this money. That is, you can earn a lot, but more than a certain amount or under certain conditions is no longer possible. "
I don't know if this could be related to Jack Ma's sudden disappearance. Being the richest man in China isn't even a guarantee that you have your freedom. I even saw this article (https://www.forbes.com/sites/jenniferwang/2021/01/07/disappearing-billionaires-jack-ma-and-other-chinese-moguls-who-have-mysteriously-dropped-off-the-radar/?sh=55488deb2187) where most of their Billionaires are disappearing without a trace and that includes the great Jack Ma himself.
199  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: August 05, 2021, 06:45:05 AM
A year after this pandemic: As a newly college graduate, it is very hard for us to find jobs. Many competitors and only few jobs are now being available. In my country, we have the longest lockdown which happened almost a year and it sucks. No board exams = no license. No license No proper job no money. I'm lossing the motivation to continue with what ive started. No amount of youtube motivational talks is enough to recover from this year of torment.

This is definitely an issue. My friends in India are claiming that many of the companies don't want to hire students who passed in 2021. The colleges and schools are close for almost one and half years and in many cases even the exams are being conducted online. Under these circumstances, obviously there will be some amount of fraud in exam valuation. But the companies are now collectively punishing all the students, rather than blacklisting those who are suspected of rigging their final exams.
A very sad batch year for graduates. I think government should step up and address this issue. What if this pandemic would still close schools and have virtual classes for a decade? More and more will suffer from this mindset of some companies.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wise to invest in nft art work? on: August 04, 2021, 02:44:47 PM
For now I believe it is but not to hold up until next year. NFT artworks is now a trend and as a trend, more and more people are into it now which makes the price overvalued. When it reached its peaked, it will slowly be fading away. So yeah, I believe its good to within a year but not more than.
