1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is ethereum so slow? on: January 07, 2018, 04:07:46 PM
Bit confused here, the following link shows the ETH transaction pool filtered to a specific contract address

https://etherscan.io/txsPending?a=0xf9a3023b60e124070cae59165b5f8c6974b96ff8

This contract belongs to ETHlend, and I am seeing people creating transactions using 1-6 GWEI in real time.

When I use metamask to post my transaction against this smart contract for the life of me I cannot get it to go through.  I even tried 25 GWEI costing me $75USD, and it still failed on me.   So my question is how are these people getting away with 1-6 GWEI and getting successful transaction, and I am not able to post a single transaction?

Any help in clearing this up would be REALLY appreciated.

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AWS GPU Mining on: April 26, 2017, 09:01:18 AM
Using spot instances you can control your costs at like 20 cents an hour. I figure if you can't make more than 20 cents an hour why bother mining at all. So I think it comes down to difficulty, the less difficult the more attractive AWS GPU mining becomes. Just got to find the right combination of difficulty, coin value, mining software, and mining pool.

Thanks for the input above...

Instead of making fun at a newbie, please steer me in the right direction.

After trying for hours, I cannot get anything running on AWS GPU (g2.2xlarge) using spot instances.  Trying to mine ZClassic on zcl.suprnova.cc.  What mining software do you recommend that takes advantage of the GPU's?

Any help is appreciated.

No system is 100% safe when it's online.  So your best bet is to get your coins onto your wallet on your Mac. Encrypt your wallet and backup your entire wallet onto a USB drive.  Erase your wallet software VERY WELL, do a SECURE ERASE.  Store your USB in a safe, when you want to spend some Bitcoin, plus in your drive and run the wallet and move some funds to an ONLINE wallet, like blockchain.info.  Unplug your USB stick when your done, and store it.  Use your phone NOT your browser (JUST IN CASE YOU HAVE KEY LOGGERS), to move funds to another party.  Never store a lot of BTC on your online wallet.  This the probably the safest ways I can think of to using your Bitcoin.  If anybody has a better system, please share!

PS: Hit Eject when unplugging your USB drive.  Sometimes it can damage your USB drive if you do not do that.  Also make multiple copies onto multiple USB drives.  So in case one goes bad.

9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitmining directly into online wallet on: December 16, 2013, 09:34:26 AM
It's not recommended to deposit directly into an exchange.  Exchanges go down, for example CoinEX.pw was down for 72 hours last week. In addition coinex says "some mining pools generate uncommon transaction that do not include target address thus making the exchanges unable to identify which account to credit."
10  Other / Beginners & Help / BlockChain Development on: December 16, 2013, 09:28:08 AM
I hear it's possible (or soon to be) to develop scripts within the bitcoin block chain that execute fund transfers when certain conditions exists.  For example, if you have a will, you can put that will inside the blockchain (encrypted), then when that person dies, it will be put in some database on the web, the blockchain script will find it and then email the will to the beneficiaries and transfer X number of bitcoins to those parties at the same time.  Any information on how to get started on this type of development would be greatly appreciated.

TIA
