2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT Ought to be Taken Seriously on: January 18, 2014, 04:28:59 AM
First of all I have a background in marketing and sales. NOT IT duh!

You do realised that most coins alts nxt peer etc anything you name it, are being put together by a bunch of IT guru.
In the real world IT guru's work is worthless without someone to market their product to sell. E.g. Earthcoin has a decent marketing team same goes got NXT, but they only provide information and marketing how great their coins are without some decent merchants wanting to adopt them as payment methods. Same idea as buying and owning a private jet in a no fly zone, whereas if NXT > BTC using the same example just mentioned BTC = a car but you can drive in around and get things done in a no fly zone. People just need to understand the value of a currency beyond speculation is where it can be spent. I personally think NXT is a great coin but the distribution of coin weren't professionally done, If NXT would have a relaunch and just about anyone that knows about it now can invest in the IPO I believe it will be so much popular. And if NXT marketing team stop posting how great NXT are and get some decent merchants to accept NXT would be so much more ideal. Why would people use BTC to buy NXT...and figure out to buy something with their cryptocurrency they have to transfer back their NXT to BTC to spent. Get the point people.... don't just look at the product itself...

Same as gold bars, way to high premine

6,000,000 bars at 3.5% premine is 210,000 bars premine.

0.01 bars per block.

1 block per minute.

1440 blocks per day.

525600 blocks per year.

5256 bars per year.

It will take 39.95 years for the public to mine as much as your premine.

LOL? 40 years !!! wow these dev... truly amazing.....

Big drops are good. Squeeze out all the speculators  Grin

Which leads to a more solid price.

Just got a couple of questions/thoughts here, feel free to reply and give your thoughts:

1. So i was wondering if the 1 Nxt transaction fee will be lowered if the coins did get picked up? Since forging will produce lower Nxt but the values will be higher.

2. Forging process is like earning interest from the bank? Yet at the same time Nxt will not inflate assuming the cap is always 1 billion coins.

3. Wouldn't it be more sensible for the big bitcoin holders to store their money here to gain interest (forging)? But than Nxt can become like a bank will people will just bank up to make interest and not spend. Therefore reducing the amount of coins in circulation.

4. I think the new QT with bitcoin trading in the Nxt client would be awesome. Nxt could act as a bank where as bitcoin the cash we carry around (hence we don't carry a tons of cash around, as most of our money is in the bank). Since bitcoin network is vulnerable to 51% attacks. So a future usage of both these cryptos can act as a bank and spending money?

15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Mining Still worth it? 2-3k budget on: December 23, 2013, 04:23:56 AM
I would strongly recommend going with scrypt mining rather than SHA256 mining.

Its easier to mine scrypt alt coins than exchange them for LTC or BTC. Works out to be better return than just mining BTC with asics.

E.g. Dogecoin or Earthcoin (now). Mining around millions of coins per day with a $3k GPU mining rig. Easily dump them for $hundreds when it hits exchange. No way you will get those types of return for mining BTC. Especially when 2 ~ 3 THash machines are going to start shipping soon. Your asic will simply get eliminated by the amount of difficulty it will bring.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dangerous to invest in new Altcoins? on: December 23, 2013, 04:07:06 AM
I'm a scrypt miner. Personally I just solo mine most new coins that has enough interests and will make it to an exchange for me to dump.

If your not a miner than I would suggest not buying straight into an altcoins.
