Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Increasing Supply Limit.

one of the reasons bitcoin is hard for Governments to meddle in btc,is its limited supply. When bitcoins get seized such in what has happened with BTC-E exchange the prices goes up. Forgetting the fact you would have to hard fork, you turn bitcoin into a fiat currency and it value would fall.

PS: The WHOIS is not the right one. MONIKER is a Domain Privacy-Service do secure your personal data at Whois-Searches.
Correct. But Whois services are not anonymous. If you write them an email informing them of interest of filing a lawsuit against the owner, most of the times they hand out the ownership information. I have done it many times successfully. Its hidden, but not anonymous by any means. That's useful to known. Nothing like this has ever gone to court in my knowledge. Not that I'm a lawyer.

I still have a small balance at 50BTC that I want refunding and I'm sure that I'm not the only one. Anybody interested in a group legal action against the owners as they must have some assets that can be seized ?
I feel sorry that they've been the victims of crime, although we only have their word for that, but they should have carried insurance to cover that eventuality.
Did anybody already found out who the owner of 50btc.com is? All I know is he transferred 45000 BTC from the 50btc cold wallet to some other address in March this year. I hope for him, he did not sell these in March, before the peak, but transferred it to another address also belonging to him. not a lot from "whois" Domain Name: 50BTC.COM Registrar: MONIKER Registrant [3652527]: Moniker Privacy Services 50BTC.COM@monikerprivacy.net Moniker Privacy Services 1800 SW 1st Avenue Suite 440 Portland OR 97201 US Administrative Contact [3652527]: Moniker Privacy Services 50BTC.COM@monikerprivacy.net Moniker Privacy Services 1800 SW 1st Avenue Suite 440 Portland OR 97201 US Phone: +1.5032070147 Fax: +1.9545859186 Billing Contact [3652527]: Moniker Privacy Services 50BTC.COM@monikerprivacy.net Moniker Privacy Services 1800 SW 1st Avenue Suite 440 Portland OR 97201 US Phone: +1.5032070147 Fax: +1.9545859186 Technical Contact [3652527]: Moniker Privacy Services 50BTC.COM@monikerprivacy.net Moniker Privacy Services 1800 SW 1st Avenue Suite 440 Portland OR 97201 US Phone: +1.5032070147 Fax: +1.9545859186 Domain servers in listed order: NS.50BTC.COM 176.9.91.111 NS2.50BTC.COM 78.46.41.166 Record created on: 2011-07-01 18:00:50.0 Database last updated on: 2013-05-22 05:50:44.757 Domain Expires on: 2014-07-01 18:00:51.0

They have a few options available. 1. closed down or just leave the site as seems to be the case. 2. start a fresh. 3. if they had a back up of balances give everyone a percentage share of what is left. hindsight is a wonderful thing i know but why on earth were back-up of balances ect not made on an hourly basis ? I feel for everyone. I was one of the ones who lost a lot of BTC's to mybitcoin.com & now this. I'm gutted. Now i will make multiple backup copies of my wallets and store them off line. Update: I'm now unable to login at all now. Upadte2: I'm able to login again but my payment is still processing since the 5th November.

Very interesting considering where it has gone.
Indeed, the OP's prediction did turn out to be more than correct, given the price troughed last autumn at $2,54 or so. This time next year it could be $254 per BTC on Mt Gox (probably not but you never say never in this game!) for all we know. If nobbynobbynoob has not edited his post since then, then he made a very good prediction! Yeah, quite an accurate prediction right there. All I can say is WOW ! Over 2 years on from this original post & look at bitcoin now ! Amazing we have all played our part in making bitcoin what it is today.

For me the maths don't add up, why sell something when in ten days of running you could make more money by keeping. Unless that's the plan wait for the difficulty to reach a certain level then sell them when they no longer make enough profit ??

Hi all, my problem is i cannot get my 5850 to run with the 7950 in the same rig. 5850 won't mine using catalyst 13.xx. if i downgrade to catalyst 11.xx then the 7950 won't mine. is the any way of install both catalyst 13.xx & catalyst 11.xx on the same windows PC.
could i run vmware and run another os as a work around ? Many thanks 7iain7

I am leaving because mybitcoin took all my btc from two accounts. One account had a embarrassingly large amount of BTC in it. I sold all my mining graphics cards on feebay. Live and learn.

surely if you except this pay out (49%) then you are agreeing to his/tom's terms ? and if the the other 51% turn up what would happen then ? This seem's a lillte little hasty to me.
