Not necessarily physical hunger, but the hunger of poverty, the hunger of never having what you need. Driving a broke down car, to a lousy job where they treat you no better than machine cog (replaceable, unimportant, and insignificant), and you arrive home to a house full of condiments and no food, snacking on mustard or mayo, laying down in a bed with springs that stab you. Knowing that the only way out is death or pain. You've never had a hard time in your fucking life. welcome to earth. ticket valid for 80 years.

Why is banning nsfw threads even considered a solution ? Its easier to add an "ignore" button . The answer when dealing with something in an anarchistic world is to use ostracism not authoritarianism or rule by morality.
Who's morality do you judge it by with people from all over the world here ? Dont presume to speak for anyone else or claim you "represent" other people.
Banning things that one "doesn't like" always seemed more than a bit myopic to me. Generally doesn't stop the activity... even if you put a big group of thugs together, call yourself a government, and go about "enforcing" your ban. I have yet to see anything other than, maybe prison, that's terribly effective at stopping people from doing what they want, and even then, only to a certain extent.
This a million times over. Been saying this for a while. And the whole "internet is a big place. go somewhere else" argument is false. There is only ONE bitcoin forum, and this is the best place for people to speak (free speech).

We wouldn't know the Black Ops Account contains *all* the funds available for Black Ops, but we could know the FBI did have at least X amount of weekly operating budget on hand at the start of the week.
You can't if they're generating a new address per person and a new address at regular intervals. You would only know the funds for one address that is shown to you, and assigned to you. Unless they choose to use one address for their entire account.

no. you can only see the coins held by a certain key.
you do not know all the keys a wallet holds.
and if they use a mixnet anonymiser then they can move funds between keys.

Other / Off-topic / 5 BTC- what power jack do I need for LG P300?
|
on: February 04, 2011, 07:53:35 PM

Can someone help me out with this?
The central pin in the power jack of my LG P300 laptop is loose and I'm going to solder a new one in.
It's a rare prototype with no manufacturers guide and a tiny manual. I couldn't find anywhere selling a spare power jack.
What part do I need? I heard it uses standardised parts.
Any ideas? Much appreciated (5 BTC) if somebody finds a link indicating where I can buy one in the UK or which other part I can use, or helping me find out how.

I'm not sure what to say really. Both arguments are reasonable.
Imagine if that wasn't 4 billion play money chips, but $10k of somebody's real-money.
While the other side of me says the internet is a game. If you don't like it, then don't play.
And once the amounts become too small, it becomes impossible to use the law. Would it be worth going after the person who stole your $5k? In that case then, it's a law for the corporations or rich only.

I think the whole point is to allow people to experiment and build their own societies. If you don't like how one place is run then you move to another. Anarcho-communism, libertarian, democratic, ... all of these could be tried on city-size scale. The internet and technology is a great enabler in today's world.
