Here, I found this for you, this is setting up a Avalon miner from factory settings

Ok.

You are only changing your ipv4. The xxx means 3 random digits so say 192.268.0.123

Save and apply this

Then you need to go to your browser and type in the box ip which is now at factory default 192.168.0.100

You are not using a gateway as there is nothing between you and the avalon box. They are talking directly. What is important is that the box is on the same subnet mask as your pc so they can talk. I pad you my mobile if you need to alk.

Read my second post. You cannot connect via your router because the subnet mask has changed no scanner will see it. You can only connect via ether net direct from your pc.

You only need to change your ipv4 be case you are not connecting via a gateway.  As long as your ip is set to the same subnet mask you will be able to connect.

The machines ip is now 192.168.0.100

I have been through the exact same issue mate and fixed it. Follow these instructions exactly
2464  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Newbie miner : Please can anyone help with avalon 200ghs mining machine ?? on: January 15, 2014, 12:35:02 PM
Tried 192.168.0.100 but nothing

tried the original 192.168.1.139 which is what it came on and i could log in before but nothing now either.

Its plugged into the back of my home broadband router at the minute and ive just scanned with angry ip from 192.168.1.0 to 192.168.1.199 and it does findthe miner at all.

Im wondering if its bricked the wrt305?

What about if i connect it direct to my laptop by Ethernet would that work?

yes, you will need to connect direct via ethernet because 192.168.0.xxx is a different subnet mask to your router. You will also need to change your ethernet subnet mask IPv4 in network settings to the same subnet so assign your computer an IP address 192.168.0.xxx then connect directly via Ethernet

from there you can change the Avalon machine IP to the correct subnet mask in your routers range, don't worry you haven't bricked it, it has just gone back to factory default IP

@smoothrunnings

These machines are not made by Avalon but they are made using the Avalon 55nm 2nd generation chips. You can buy the chips direct from Avalon by the roll. There are loads of factories in China buying the chips, making PCBA and a control board then putting them inside a case.

factory default setting for Avalon machines in 192.168.0.100

you will need to change your IPV4 subnet mask on your PC / laptop to 192.168.0.xxx

before adjusting CGMiner settings you need to go into startup, scrill down to CGMiner and click stop

then adjust the CGMiner settings and save and apply.

As CGMiner starts running autonatically on boot up you need to stop it before it can save any config changes

It is totally normal to receive them premined. Every supplier does it.

Hope this helps

2466  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Avalon 200GH vs Antminer 180-200-ish on: January 14, 2014, 05:13:05 PM
There are several things to consider.

1. power use

2. hashing power

3. price

So you need to do the full sum.

BTC mined over useful life - cost of purchase - power use.

I have been running several of both of these types of boxes.

Antminer draws around 360W out of the wall and Avalon draws around 870W out of the wall.

Avalon runs at a steady 25GH/s faster than an Antminer

so over 3 months, which is probably the useful life of these machines I get the following working on BTC@900 USD

Antminer

Hardware break even   56 days
Net profit first time frame   1482.40 USD

Coins per 24h at these conditions   0.0517 BTC
Power cost per 24h   1.26 USD
Revenue per day   46.54 USD
Less power costs   45.28 USD
System efficiency   525.71 MH/s/W
Mining Factor 100 at the end of the time frame   0.02 USD/24h@100MHash/s
Average Mining Factor 100   0.02 USD/24h@100MHash/s
Power cost per time frame   115.05 USD
Revenue per time frame   3997.46 USD
Less power costs   3882.40 USD

Avalon

Hardware break even   44 days
Net profit first time frame   2116.41 USD

Coins per 24h at these conditions   0.0582 BTC
Power cost per 24h   3.07 USD
Revenue per day   52.36 USD
Less power costs   49.28 USD
System efficiency   242.39 MH/s/W
Mining Factor 100 at the end of the time frame   0.02 USD/24h@100MHash/s
Average Mining Factor 100   0.02 USD/24h@100MHash/s
Power cost per time frame   280.73 USD
Revenue per time frame   4497.14 USD
Less power costs   4216.41 USD

of course trying to predict the future is hard because of difficulty and prices but at present the maths suggests that Avalon is a better investment than Antminer

My mining expreience agrees

sooooo...... difficulty..

Can't see it dropping until the next block reward halving.
2468  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 3 TH Miner In Stock - anyone heard of this company WaWa Miner on: January 09, 2014, 04:18:13 PM
Those 200G machines are great, best vaule miners on the market at present, I am a big supporter of them, I also have a few of the 250G 3 module 60 chip machines en route too. I know you can get 3TH for not that much more in 3 months time but by then the difficulty will be so high they won't work much faster than a 200G will now. I have 10 hashing away at present and they are stable and solid. We built a few airflow wedges in them and the fans have slowed, we can keep them under 40C

However imagine 30 modules in a single machine. madness.
2469  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: For Individuals looking to get into the Mining Game in 2014, please read this! on: January 09, 2014, 04:10:17 PM
you can get 2 x 200 GH/s machines for 5K

they will mine 1BTC a week between them at current difficulty.

with increased difficulty you sould get ROI in 7 weeks.

Seems pretty good to me.
2470  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 3 TH Miner In Stock - anyone heard of this company WaWa Miner on: January 09, 2014, 03:46:48 PM
I am massively suspicious of this.

None of the manufacturers in China have managed to even get 3 modules of 90 chips hashing at a stable rate yet.

There are 2 modules on 90 chips hashing reliably and in the last week or two there are stable 3 modules of 60 chips running and available in the marketplace in China.

To say they can offer 1TH or even 3 TH (that would take 30 modules of 90 55nm chips) using 55nm Avalon chips is sketchy at best and I have seen no evidence of this running succesfully. Furthermore the amount of cooling needed would be immense, anyone who has seen and heard a 200G 55nm Avalon machine running will tell you about the noise and heat generated by these machines.

Add to that,

US based wrong voltage

Google Voice phone number

Their US address on Google maps appears to be a restaurant.

Not saying they are out and out scammers but I don't believe they have stable 1TH machines running and available for sale yet.
2471  Bitcoin / Mining support / Offering support for 2nd Gen 55nm Avalon on: January 09, 2014, 03:33:57 PM
I now have 10 of these 200 GH/s machines hashing away quite happily here and have been through most potential problems with them, from Chinese changing subnet masks, to faulty WiFi modules and heat issues.

If I can be of any help to anyone who has one and is having problems please feel free to ask in here or PM, would be happy to offer help if I can.
2472  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: problem with my Avalon Gen 2 on: January 09, 2014, 03:26:53 PM
Yeah, the problem was I couldn't find it with an IP scanner so was totally stuck

Naughty Chinese changed it for mining themselves without passing on the IP address, so they had changed the subnet mask from 192.168.0.xxx to 192.168.1.xxx

was only not mining for under an hour before I changed the scanner to check on the .1 instead of .0 subnet mask and was away
2473  Bitcoin / Mining support / problem with my Avalon Gen 2 on: January 02, 2014, 04:41:54 PM
Having trouble connecting to a 200GH/S Avalon Gen2

I change my my subnet mask to 192.168.0.xxx

I Plug in the lan cable to the box

I power up the box

I go to internet explorer

I go to http://192.168.0.100

I can't connect to the box

IP scanner cannot find anything on the subnet mask

help!!!!

edit found it, subnet mask had been changed.

It seems that once again, the news from China has been massively overblown and is not in fact as bad as rumours stated. Who woulda thunk it?

http://thecryptotimes.com/content/china-says-citizens-have-freedom-trade-bitcoins

Sure, but it worked. People never learn

sure did.

Interestingly BTChina, Stamp and BTC-E have all rallied but Gox has been totally indifferent to the clarification.

Which is annoying because I took a long position on BTC rising on a platform that bases its price index on Gox.

I get the impression that Bitcoin is becoming another player in the US versus China economic war that is bubbling under the surface. A lot of US institutions and organistions are talking up bitcoin and its potential future. As free market economists they see the potential for profit and revenue. On the flip side the Chinese state see it as a threat to their control and security and are trying to tie it up.

Hard to predict where the worlds relationship with BTC will develop over the coming year.

Of course bitcoin will hold its use and intrinsic value to those that understand its core value and purpose but that may not be reflected in its exchange against fiat currency.
2477  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is BTC-e scamming you? on: December 17, 2013, 11:15:56 AM
Posted this in another BTC-E thread but will post in here too

As someone brand new to this forum (but not BTC) my post well may be taken with a pinch of salt. I can accept that, however I need to get this out there and tell people. Shame I can only post in this section.

I had some BTC taken from my BTC-E account. Had been out walking my dogs, came back and checked my email to see a succesful authorisation notification. Also a few seconds later a transaction confirm / cancel email had come through. Logged in to try and cancel the transaction but was too late, it had already gone.

Looked at my BTC-E account and my funds held in USD had been converted to BTC and transferred out to an anonymous wallet. Checked the log in IP and it was in the US (I am in UK), although this means very little -- obviously they could have been anywhere.

Thankfully I only had around 0.2 BTC in there.

My money was transferred to the following wallet

Who, how or why this happened I have no idea. I have larger amounts of BTC in Stamp with no problem, I regularly scan my PC with Malware Bytes and Combofix.

Firmly believe I have no key logger or malware that could have compromised me locally.

I had only been signed up to BTC-E for around 3 days as I use Stamp. Did not have a key set up, as it was just a quick test of their services.

As I say, I fully expect this to be taken with a pinch of salt. It's my first post but I have nothing to gain from passing this info on, other than warning others about it.

oh.......

and don't even get me started on that troll box.
