ALL of crypto markets are down this year, plenty of projects lost 90% of their value especially altcoins, Price is NOT a good measure of success. If every project that has lost value this year made radical changes, the ENTIRE crypto community would have to reset and start again.

Anyway, I'm not interested in price arguments, but just to let you know that the same frustrations are felt all over crypto right now.

I've been using BTCJam for almost 2 months now, I'm in positive territory providing the loans get paid back. There are a LOT of scammers there, and the fact that BTCJam get paid upon loan opening is definitely a problem and a bad idea. I've also joined BitlendingClub but not invested there. BTCJam uses a scoring system which I don't think provides much of a guide, however others may find it useful. The fact is that ID can be easily bought on the darkweb as can social accounts so they are not really a very secure form of verification. I go on the previous history of the borrower if they have any, and the description that they have placed on the loan.  I would definitely recommend Jam to anyone interested in crypto, as it grows the legit borrowers will easily outweigh the scammers and with the crowd funding nature of the site if you do invest in a loan, you will need loads of other people not to realise it's a scam for the loan to get activated, in practice this is the best security measure of all. The comments sections are censored far too heavily for my liking and I think this coupled with the 'earning from scammers' factor will ultimately be the only reasons I would leave BTCJam.

I've had my LLoyds account recently closed, I can assure you it was because of dealings with Bitcoin, I had my account for 15 years, and had used it for a booming ebay account with up to 5k going through it per week, they never complained that I didnt have a business account, although they did suggest I open one, That was back in 2007 wayyyy before Bitcoin.

Recently I got a letter similar to this one but without a number to call, when visting the branch they told me to write a letter, which I will do and I will try to keep you posted on the outcomes. My situation is even more obvious than this one for reasons I can't really go into. I have a blog and trade frequently on Localbitcoins, so I'm not here to troll, just letting you all know that LLoyds are 100% Bitcoin hostile,

I'm trying to install the wallet into linux mint 16 (ubuntu) and for the life of me, I cannot get it to work. I usually use multibit with Bitcoin, does hyper have something similar, where I will not need the complete blockchain? Sorry I'm a total idiot!
