Hi Orair, We have a coin swap that took place in January of this year. We announced the swap for 2 months all over Bitcoin Talk, Facebook, and Twitter and even extended the swap deadline for an additional week in case anyone was late. I realize that the name might not sit well with certain people and might come across as a little bit controversial. Perfect!
Sometimes a little bit of controversy can go a long way and can get people talking.
For the time being, I think it would be wise to shift our collaborative efforts towards a more important issue...
First of all, a big CONGRATULATIONS is in order.
DopeCoin has reached an all-time high and now holds a market cap of over $500,000. This could not have been achieved without the support of our development team and our dedicated supporters.
I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for participating in this adventure.
Since relaunching in January of this year we have continued to put one foot in front of the other and have successfully moved the project and valuation forward on a consistent basis.
We have online dispensary partnerships, an online seed shop (props to Goldie), a one-and-done online shop with backend product fulfillment available to new merchants, and big plans to expand during the next year.
Currently, we are working on our 3rd online dispensary partnership, integrating the payment API and reward system for frequent users, creating tutorial animations to explain the process and integrating an inventory plugin that will allow our shop owners to have up to date and accurate inventory totals for their customers.
These announcements and projects are real and will be backed up with action!

Rebranding the coin as something different would cause a lot of confusion and would make little sense as it would be better to just make a new coin...
Our dispensary partners love the coin and have no issues with the name. We are currently working on payment API integrations and educational videos as we work to bring new shop owners and users to the project.
Should be an interesting month, I will keep you updated with any new developments as they are taking place and completed.

Potcoin has never released fake news and never intends to. The "mysterious bigwig" you are referring to is well on board its been months. As for the army of photoshopped ATM's, Potcoin had actual Potcoin ATM's at River Rock Dispensaries back in the day, no photoshop there. You are also referring to the old dev team (back in 2014) as we have never worked on any ATM's.
Potcoin's tech and dev team is growing strong and more great news to be released shortly.
What an odd comment after just getting busted releasing fake news... Bitcoin Embassy just clearly gave you a rather harsh scolding after lying about establishing a partnership with them. Anyway, I'm not going to argue with this noobie account that is for some reason now representing Potcoin. The old school crypto fans that have been around for a while certainly know what I am referring to. What is the name and identity of the "big wig"? It's very strange that you made this announcement 6 months ago yet never followed up or revealed his identity or credentials... Better yet... What's your name and credentials? fake news comment coming from an operator of a competitive coin... not saying you're lying...just saying I am a little skeptical. I will need to do some research though because I have not been as actively involved in the Pot Coin community recently.
You have every right to be skeptical bud, I encourage you to do your own research and come to your own conclusions as the point that I am really trying to make is that you should be very careful about what information and people you trust in the crypto world. Hi, I’ve been asked to clarify where that last news could have originated.
About two weeks ago someone came in our business, Satoshi Counter, to talk about potcoin. I was interested in learning more, We looked at the potwallet/dispensary interface together and we created an account to test it out, he had written Bitcoin Embassy as the merchant name which I then changed to btcmbc, (possible source of confusion). I was asked if he could leave a sign in the store saying that we accept potcoin, I was clearly opposed to it for numerous reasons.
Satoshi Counter has been making Shapeshift available to it's customer for many months. A few weeks prior to this visit we helped two peoples who had been gifted Potcoin at an event to shift their potcoin into fiat.
I'm usually not a big fan of using the term "fake news" but there was a whole lot of wrong and false assumption in this “news”. As for defining the above as a partnership, I believe, is quite a stretch of the imagination. I also believe both parties in a "partnership" should be made aware of public announcement before-hand to avoid unfortunate confusion.
We go to great lengths to educate customers about the risk posed by the irreversibly of bitcoin transaction and warn them of any investment scheme funded through Bitcoins.
Despite what happened I am grateful to the people who took their time to talk to me about the potcoin. At this time I personally have not studied potcoin enough to have an opinions about it as a store of value.
Please correct / delete the any remaining mention of bitcoin embassy + potcoin where possible.

I am Francis Pouliot, the Director of Public Affairs at the Bitcoin Embassy, and in that respect I am the ultimate responsible for partnerships and agreements.
I confirm: there is no, have never been, and will never be any partnership or agreement between the Bitcoin Embassy and Potcoin leaders (nor any other "altcoin" representatives).
Thus, it should be clear that news article circulating that there is an agreement with the Bitcoin Embassy is entirely false. This is the definition of fake news

Because I am horrified by the idea that the Bitcoin Embassy would be associated to Potcoin because of their press releases and media pumping, I'll share some thoughts.
How could they possibly think they could get away with this? Here is some context:
1. The Bitcoin Embassy is a non-profit organization founded in 2013. It is hosted on the third floor of a building which hosts numerous Bitcoin projects.
2. On the first floor of the building which hosts the Bitcoin Embassy, there is a physical Bitcoin Exchange called Satoshi Counter. Some traders there (myself included) often suggest our clients to use shapeshift to transform altcoins to bitcoins, after which we can buy the bitcoins off of them. In that case, the clients are transaction with Shapeshift, and not with us directly. One of the foudners of the Bitcoin Embassy is also a founder of Satoshi Counter.
3. Potcoin representatives were told by a trader at Satoshi Counter how they could use shapeshift to exchange their Potcoins, like any other altcoin, for Bitcoin, after which they could buy/sell bitcoins at Satoshi Counter, like any client does.
4. The Bitcoin Embassy was never consulted in anyway by Potcoin. I was notified of this news by a Google alert. There is no agreement, either verbal or in writing. There is certainly no partnership, nor contract of any kind. Myself and transisto are the only two people involved in both organizations, but there are many more different people involved with Satoshi Counter and many other involved with the Bitcoin Embassy, and both organizations are effectively completely separate.
5. There is no agreement, partnership of any kind between Potcoin and Satoshi Counter either. It's not a question of semantics here. As people, none of use would EVER engage in any partnership with the leaders of Potcoin.
Let's be 100% clear: this was an extremely unethical and deceptive use the Bitcoin Embassy logo, name and reputation without our consent.
It could have passed off as an honest mistake, but not only did they not comply to my requests to have them take down reddit post and tweets, they actually started negotiating and asking me to remove tweets and reddit posts criticizing them.
If it wasn't clear enough, and with all respect to this community, I personally am offended by the very idea that the Bitcoin Embassy could be associated to Potcoin. A more cynical person than myself would call Potcoin an obvious ponzi scheme which has no other purpose than speculation, and which is specifically crafted to create a sense of community to attract what traders will call "bagholders" which allow earlier investors to cash out.
Why would anybody merchant accept Potcoin instead of Bitcoin? What is the value proposition? It's like litecoin, but it's has a more limited market potential? And it's not even like litecoin, because the development team is inactive.
Potcoin is basically a gift card that only lets buy at VERY LIMITED number of stores. Who in his right mind would trade a liquid currency for that, unless you do it right away before a purchase because there is a discount?
It's a vastly inferior clone that is dramatically less secure, liquid or useful. I can probably do a Potcoin clone equivalent in a few minutes. Even the copyright information of Potcoin shows that it is a clone of Bitocin and Litecoin, just worse.
The Bitcoin Embassy has almost never endorsed any product or service. We would NEVER endorse any cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin. Nobody in their right mind would endorse Potcoin, unless it was out of ignorance or naivety at best, and greed and in the pursuit of personal profit at worse.
Anybody caught promoting Potcoin on the Bitcoin Embassy premises will be immediately expelled with a permanent ban.

But i was in the adventure since the beginning of 2014. I have mined most of my hard eaned Dopecoins- more than 240 K. I have followed Dopecoin throught the last 3 years. i have swapped my coins till V3. And since november 2016 i was busy on other subject. Then i came back in april 2017 to learn that i miss the V4 swap.  I keep hope that Dopey can help me out, but it's quite embarrasing to loose your entire wallet just because of few months without activity.....really. And i'm sure i'm not the only one who keep a "sleeping" wallet that just became a dead wallet. Wow! That´s a shitty deal. Pretty bullshit to piss on your community members like that. Give him his coins!!! We did not "take a piss" on our members as you put it. We conducted a relaunch of the coin in order to ensure that there was 0 chance for price manipulation or any sort of hoarding before the launch of DopeCoin Gold and my return to the project. It was important for me as I would be publicly taking responsibility for DopeCoin's success or failure and would be publicly exposing my real identity. There were millions of coins left over from the previous improperly executed swap that presented a risk to the infrastructure and integrity of this coin and needed to be eliminated. When we announced the swap we blasted it all over social media for over 2 months at least 20 times. We stickied posts on Twitter and Facebook and also continued posting about it on a regular basis. When the deadline came, we extended the deadline even further to allow anyone who was late the opportunity to get in a last minute swap. Once the deadline was reached we burned all remaining coins and released a public audit to the community which accounted for every single coin. Now, although it is unfortunate that some people did miss the swap date, it is important to note that DopeCoin is an investment and should be treated as such. You should be checking the status of your investments on a regular basis. We did not even receive this complaint until the month of May. This means that this investment was not checked for months. With that being said I still feel terrible about some people being left behind. And I did help this user out by sending him 75k coins from my personal stash. And yes, I hold around 5.3 million DopeCoins as the project's founder. Why did I not send him the full amount? Well, it is not my responsibility and I don't "control or own DopeCoin" I am simply an investor like everyone else and spent tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of work to accumulate my investment. With that being said he lost about 240 k coins. I gave him back 75 k from my personal wallet. And to put things into perspective, those coins were worth 20 satoshi before and are now worth 144. How will it work? Frequent customers will create a login to the site which will track their fiat purchases. Once the user purchases a certain amount of products, they will be rewarded with DopeCoin's which they can then use towards their next purchase or they will have the ability to withdraw the funds to their own personal wallet or an exchange of their choice. Let's look at a quick example. A frequent user buys $100 worth of product and is credited with $5 worth of DopeCoin's. The next time they make a purchase they have the ability to use those DopeCoin's as part of their payment. This simple system will allow the shop owners to provide their customers with a unique marijuana-related reward and will also force new users and interest into the coin on a massive scale. As this is operating online and not in a physical location, the opportunity for growth, exposure and user friendliness is through the roof! No longer will the user be forced to carry their coin's on a mobile app and then walk into a store and make a purchase, instead they can simply place orders online, manage their DopeCoin transactions online, and receive their medicine to their door without even having to leave the house.
