AUR ? Is the coin scam?
I dont know if its really a "scam" coin, but it has a 50% premine and a VERY questionable strategy of giving a coin to everybody in iceland (logistic, legal, and political problems will be a result). I personally think the dev is over his head and this will blow apart. But its an ambitious idea at least. Edit: Also the market cap is greatly overvalued because only about 100,000 coins are being traded, the rest is off the market. I understand that what is going on here may seem strange to North American cultures however, anyone who has spent any time with Nordic (Viking) cultures would understand that this may just work. Without the premine there would be no reason for anybody to adopt this coin. Distribution strategy has been discussed here many times do check the airdrop blue prints. http://auroracoin.org/blueprint.php So far the Dev has morals and lets hope he realizes that this can get to economics books if it works. Yes, i agree that a premine for a project like this makes sense. I really dont doubt the devs morals either. But the execution of the 2nd phase is what i am questioning. If it works it would be great for the whole crypto community, but it doesnt seem serious unless he has some more institutional backers involved (ie local buisness in Iceland) |

We don't know what will happen...
Maybe the airdrop pushes the price or it's just the other way round because many icelandish people will just sell their AUR for BTC..
Aur will be mass adopted on the first day of the airdrop, with shops refusing to take any payments other than AUR. The next day, Prime minister Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson will declare April "national aurora month" and parliament will pass a law forever abolishing the króna, anybody caught using it after June 2014 will be deported to Zimbabwe. Capitol controls will be lifted and the ICEX will rise by 50,000% in a single week. The economic production of Iceland will surpass that of the EU (excluding UK) with a new sector of crypto financial services leading the tremendous growth. Icelanders will be the new wealthy elite, and will start buying up huge chunks of key real estate all over the globe. Stefán Karl Stefánsson will lead a consortium of individuals buying up famous landmarks such as the Empire State building, Eiffel tower, and after lengthy negotiations the burj tower in Dubai. 40% of US farmland will be owned by Iceland individuals giving them near total control of the worldwide grain market. As the other world governments become alarmed at the seemingly unstoppable growing power of icelandic business people, they will start to impose trade sanctions. PM Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson reacts by buying BAE Systems, Boeing, and various other military contractors. The Icelandic Army surpasses the might of the US military within 6months. Iceland becomes the undisputed naval power of the world controlling shipping lanes and therefore world wide commerce. Bjork becomes the spiritual leader of the world and a new religion begins. Hákarl becomes the most consumed food in the world and some guy named Aðalgeir Bragason finds the cure for cancer and arthritis. By 2050 Iceland colonizes Mars and its 300,000 + citizens settle the planet in order to leave the "sub human" other races behind and start a new pure master race based on the AUR. utopia vision  No , just too much weed altering a coin holder thoughts. Not a coin holder. Sarcasm. But the idea is ambitious, ill give the dev that much. |

my apologies. English is not my 1st language. Sometimes I can be misinterpreted.
I' try again:
I believe that everything that is good for vtc should be done. We, the community, could drive things up. In my opinion, it doesn't matter that much if this convention its the major one, or not (to be honest I didnt knew there was a cryptocoin convention in first place).
You're pointing the right questions, and maybe I replied you thinking you were some kind of troll, raging against everyone/everything, so again, my apologies for that.

Could we have some details from the devs regarding their plan of action and specific goals with this convention. It hasn't been addressed. Indeed. Maybe its because its kind of obvious  being present at such convention is a big thing for a coin and we cant wait to dev's to all the funding. A coin succeed by his community, not just they dev.s Just my opinion, tho. Edit: Of course this is not the kind of thing that DnP's appreciate sigh. That was an unusually snide response mega. This conference doesnt seem to be a particularly premier one, my question is why focus on this one. Also the fees associated with it are higher than most. The quality of speakers is a mix bag, with some notable ones, but also questionable ones (titiecoin). So is the aim that the dev team just gets some convention experience (fine), network (fine), or something else. I would like to know how this fits into the general strategy which is reasonable to know in situations like this, whether is a donation to a charity, church, or the girl scouts. Also, there has been a lot of crowd founding in recent weeks which is great. But its getting to the point where things are getting spread thin among a number of products. Jballs and the media release was funded and we havent received an update, and the animation, water well stuff on reddit etc. Throwing silly money at everything is not a solution, it has to be done efficiently. So again, whats the general plan boris and crew? (I know you have a media strategy coming out soon so I can wait for details until then) Tldr; why are we focusing on this conference and not at some of the more notable ones |

Do we know if the government will just ban this from use in Iceland. Is there any communication at all with them to ensure this wont happen?
At current prices, each citizen of Iceland will receive $760 worth of Auroracoin. I suspect that if a politician tried to ban it, they would find themselves rather unpopular VERY quickly. so the coin is basically a "bailout" or "gift" or charity for icelands citizens courtesy of a collection of miners and speculators from every other country besides iceland? Interesting project though. I ll continue to follow it albeit from the sidelines. |

Ops about vertcoin What do you think about the VERTCOIN price until the end of the year how much BTC - 0.025 ohh. Thats a little harder to call. Obviously its speculation, but I feel 0.05-0.2 is certainly possible. There was a post a few weeks ago that calculated potential value of vert based on market cap. Actually let me find that post and ill edit this with that info. Edit: At equal market cap as Dogecoin, VTC is worth $37, or 0.04 BTC At equal market cap as Litecoin, VTC is worth $350, or 16.6 LTC, or 0.38 BTC At equal market cap as Bitcoin, VTC is worth $6826, or 7.4 BTC |

What do you think about the price until the end of the year how much BTC will become
Edit: Optimistically: btc=10,000/15,000 usd or reasonable expectation after q2: 1,000/1,500 or the world falls apart: 0-100usd 3rd one will happen if anonther USD/BTC exchange shuts down and steals BTC. Thats more or less what I meant, but I dont see it in the cards at the moment. Things will tighten up within the industry now with new players emerging with well oiled operations, and the existing ones proactively upgrading themselves. 2014 is the year when professionals move into the industry. |

I want to find out if there is any progress regarding zerocoin implementation, or if even any work has started on it.
The buzz regarding the different mining requirement provided the initial boost. It now needs some progress otherwise will end up on the heap.
If you look at a few pages back, the developers decided to move in a different direction. We had a healthy debate on here and reddit about this. Can you post the reddit link? I remember there were funds being collected for a well. Has it been built? Will do, im on my phone at the moment so give me until tmrw to find it. |
