1  Economy / Economics / Re: Google is ending its sweeping ban on cryptocurrency-related advertising. on: Today at 06:22:23 PM
I guess, google has to make money too. They have obligations to their share holders, and why cut of a perfectly good source of income. Not to mention that many of the higher ranked google employees understand bitcoin and probably hold some themselves.

Once they bring back the ads, what they need though, is more educated staff members to prevent ads that may harm their users, like malware ads and scam schemes.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is mining? My understanding! on: Today at 04:44:18 PM
As far as I understood, it is basically a process through which blocks (that contains information about transactions) are verified.

Not quite. Every node in the system, not just a mining node, can verify a bock. To verify a block is not computationally expensive. However, mining is needed for creation of new blocks, to extend the blockchain.

For that miners has to perform simple calculations Nodes (Computers) does that for miners. The one who performs it the first gets the reward .
Each individual calculation is indeed relatively simple, but it takes an incredibly huge number of them to find the right solution. The miner who finds it first, gets the right to write the new block and collect the reward.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you guys think about "Singapore may be come first country to fully embra on: Today at 04:35:02 PM
They will have competition in other countries, like Malta, but if they indeed start treating crypto payments as any other form of payment they will be one step ahead of everyone else.

I didn't quite get this part:

...Singapore consequently became the destination where the first cryptocurrency debit cards will be issued...

because, as far as I know, bitcoin debit cards are already available in other countries.
4  Other / Meta / Re: My account was hacked on: September 24, 2018, 08:51:21 PM
Wrote an e-mail to Cyrus, but I no longer have any of my old bitcoin wallets. The only proof I've got is a post with my e-mail address (The one I registered my account with).

I'm afraid your e-mail address cannot be used to prove ownership. What is required is a signed message like it is explained in this post:

Even then, you would have to wait, and the chances of your account being restored promptly are not so good.

Once I found out, I clicked a link to lock account and I can see that there are no new posts from that moment.

That's pretty much all you can do right now to lock the account so no more damage is produced.

Why do people want to use some old unused for years account?

I suspect the reason is your merit count (10) and higher rank (member). With that, they can participate in bounties and earn some rewards.
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best cryptocurrency to invest in 2018 on: September 24, 2018, 08:42:45 PM
Don't you guys think that binance coin is too much risky?

Yes, you are absolutely right. It's centralized and risky and it is not a crypto-currency in the real sense of the word. It may disappear without a trace if the company who created it decides to do so. However, what I like about binance coin is its relative stability. For example, during the last 6 months or so, BNB has lost much less than most of the other alts. So traders on Binance may use it as a temporary store of value. Other than that (and trading fee reduction on Binance if you trade frequently), I wouldn't take it for a serious competitor among the other coins.
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best cryptocurrency to invest in 2018 on: September 24, 2018, 02:11:03 PM
Long term or short term investment? It's not the same.

Given the choice of coins, my personal favorite long term list would be:

1.) Bitcoin
2.) Cardano
3.) Monero
4.) NEO
5.) Litecoin
6.) Binance Coin
7.) Ethereum
8.) EOS

Also, acc to him, even if he mentioned a quote or something from article ,he did give a link to it.
Why isn't he here to fight his own case? He is allowed to post in the meta section to speak for himself.

Although, if it is indeed plagiarism, there is nothing he can do. Plagiarism brings a permanent ban for life.
8  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: The Delta Summit in Malta is approaching! Who is coming? on: September 24, 2018, 10:22:39 AM
It is an impressive list of speakers and some very well known crypto personalities are on it. All in all, I am amazed at the way Malta has embraced crypto and become a focal point of many crypto projects, companies and investors. It appears from your website that the medium-priced tickets are sold out. The basic price is very reasonable though. There are many good things I've heard about Malta as a tourist destination, and I would like to visit it some day, but not this time. I wish you a great and successful conference.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XRP / USD] - Speculators Remains Bullish - Ripple back to 1$ ? on: September 24, 2018, 09:41:11 AM
For XRP,  my prediction the price will going up again to the highest price about $3 in the end of this year,
Well, IMO $3 would be a little bit too much, because that would mean a 6 times increase from the current price. That would also mean that XRP will approach BTC by market cap, which is practically impossible, unless BTC too is going to be worth $40,000 by the end of the year.

That said, XRP may experience some growth and can be a good short to medium term investment. Especially, as you said, in light of the announced new payment service Xrapid.
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best way to profit in cryptocurrency on: September 24, 2018, 09:28:35 AM
Here's what I think:

Airdrops in general are a total waste of time and energy.
ICOs can give you some profit, even a very good one, but you would have to be able to sift through a huge number of worthless ICOs to find a couple of good ones.
Trading is a difficult and stressful way of making money. This is especially true in the crypto domain, where strange things happen all the time. Depending on your initial investment, you can earn a great deal of money. But if you don't know what you are doing, you can lose it all.
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Descending Triangle or Falling Wedge? on: September 24, 2018, 07:26:56 AM
It may swing either way, but I voted for a Bullish trend. That's what I think will happen, even though some other indicators, like Ichimoku, predict a short term bearish run on the daily chart.

On the other hand, I personally would like the price to stay at the current level because I'd like to accumulate more BTC before a new bullish run.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Developer Vlad Zamfir Codes Sharding Proof-of-Concept on: September 24, 2018, 06:30:13 AM
These are good news that they are on track but waiting for years for an upgrade is long time.
That is  also reflected in ETH price  and it will struggle until some concrete results.

Exactly. They have to make a decision and go through the next phase of development if they want to be taken seriously.

Although, IMO the only sound consensus mechanism is PoW, as it is now. PoS and the other proposals are questionable, to say the least. They are certainly aware of this and they want to make sure there will be no screw ups.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: new 🔴🔵 THE TABLE OF NEW SIGNATURES 🔵🔴 on: September 23, 2018, 08:16:07 PM
I just wanted to drop by and tell you how much I appreciate the effort you put in maintaining this table. It is a useful resource for anyone who would like to have a quick overview of the current (and past) campaigns.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be to update the table, day in day out. So, thank you and keep up the good work!
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fighting your own FOMO on: September 23, 2018, 08:08:40 PM
Meditation can help you calm yourself in general, but when you are trading at your computer it is of little help. Because it is hard to trade efficiently and maintain a meditative state of mind.

What sort of psychological tricks do you use on yourself to combat your own FOMO?

I just think of a good tennis player. After the point is over, a good tennis player is immediately focused on the next point. They forget what was a point ago, and what may come two points in the future. They are focused on the present.

I try to be like that. Not to think about past mistakes or lost trading opportunities. Just focused on the next move. If I miss it fine. If I get it right fine. Keep going.

16  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Largest Brazilian Brokerage to Launch Exchange for Bitcoin and Ethereum on: September 23, 2018, 04:26:07 PM
Well let's give this news a link if we are going to start a thread about that:

Chief Executive Officer of Grupo XP Guilherme Benchimol told Bloomberg that the company will launch an exchange called XDEX in the coming months, with around forty employees. Grupo XP is the biggest financial group in Brazil, comprising companies with various business models.

XP has reportedly set a goal to have $1 trillion reais ($245 billion) under custody by 2020, which is four times what the company expects to raise by the end of this year. In addition, XP will launch a bank in the next few months.
17  Other / Meta / Re: Project manager Newbies. on: September 23, 2018, 04:11:52 PM
I don't really understand what you are trying to say. Even if we neglect the non-English part, what's your point?

Are you complaining about newbies being bounty managers?

As far as I know, the forum rules say nothing against it. Sure, the newbie manager won't be able to post images, and will have other restrictions. That's why a newbie can purchase Copper Membership, so that these restrictions can be lifted.

I would never recommend someone participating in a bounty manged by a newbie. But a Copper member can run a legitimate campaign. This may happen, for example, if they are not willing to hire a more experienced higher rank member. Still, a higher rank member as bounty manager is always a good thing to have.

18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How is ROI on calculated? on: September 23, 2018, 03:43:07 PM
I don't know if I can be of any help but here is how the chart appears to me:

I'd have thought they calculate % monthly ROI on starting price 1 month ago compared to current price, and then show the % gain during that period as the ROI.
I also think that''s the case. It seems to me that the current price of BTC is about 4 percent higher than the price from a month ago, hence ROI~=104%.

you'll also see all the other coins with those high figures, which I completely don't get.
Well the other coins have higher ROI's because a month ago they have been dumped much more than bitcoin. That's why their relative growth seems higher.

It's like that, when the market is in its bearish phase, only bitcoin manages to hold, all the others go down considerably more.
19  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 🔴🔴Bitcoin//USD price Analysis✅✅ on: September 23, 2018, 02:11:57 PM
I don't see much technical analysis on your blog. What do you base your price prediction on? RSI, MACD, anything else..? It would be helpful if you could put a paragraph with more info on your price predictions.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: French Football Club Paris Saint-Germain Creates Own Token For Fans on: September 23, 2018, 01:57:13 PM
This token won't mean much. The token holders are going to be able to vote on some meaningless features, like logos, colors, charity matches... Probably the die hard fans will be looking forward to it.

However, they will not run their own blockchain. This token is supposed to run on a relatively unknown platform (socios). Now, the platform's native coin, ChiliZ, is not even there yet, so I don't know what to think of this announcement.

If it ever goes through, this could be a good thing for the popularization of crypto currencies. That's it.
