As previously mentioned, btcrecover would be the way to go. But you have to remember at least something from your password. I want to add something very important which hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet: Do NOT give your wallet file or any other sensitive information to random people posting here / PMing you.For example, this one is spamming his 'recovery service' in every thread regarding lost passwords, even if those threads are 2 years old: A newbie, who 'offers to help' with retreiving passwords is not trustworthy at all: In the later case, let me know if you need help with this.
Those are 2 examples of untrustworthy 'offers'. 90%+ of PM's you will receive from people 'ready to help you are scam. Don't fall for them. Agree with the response provided here. Users here can provide feedback as to how to use BTCRecover if you need help with the steps - but never send your wallet to anyone. Technically he could try to use BTCRecover with no knowledge of his previous password but this is usually futile due to how many passwords exist.

Maybe provide some estimation as to how long your calculation will take. If there are 10 pages of comments to go through and it takes 10 seconds per comment, then provide the user with the feedback "hey this is going to take roughly 100 seconds". Also, the text doesn't line up quite right after it calculates - for some reason it still shows waiting even after finishing. I tested with "Light Green" trust.

Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Question about a very old wallet
|
on: February 12, 2018, 11:42:48 PM

When you say a genesis transaction do you actually mean the first block on the network? That would obviously point to an altcoin, but based on when your "friend" became interested in Bitcoin he may have simply found a block. When it comes to old wallets it never hurts to take a look and see - maybe your friend had some coins saved up that he forgot about.

Looking for hacking services.
Reliable and willing to work with Escrow.
It may help better describe what you are looking for - "hacking services" seems a little broad/vague. Depending on what you're looking for Escrow could be difficult.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Trying to send bitcoin to c-lightning. Getting "Invalid Bitcoin Address"
|
on: February 08, 2018, 04:31:16 PM

If you haven't sent any funds to the address, then isn't listreceivedbyaddress working correctly?
Fair point. Ok, so it's properly communicating directly with bitcoind then. In which case, my question then becomes, "How do I see a list of address that have been generated with newaddr and are under my control ?" Change the 1 to a 0? This would show a list of addresses in your wallet with 0 confirmations as opposed to 1.

First you need to transfer some funds to lightningd so that it can open a channel:
# Returns an address <address> cli/lightning-cli newaddr
# Returns a transaction id <txid> bitcoin-cli sendtoaddress <address> <amount>
-snip- When I do bitcoin-cli listreceivedbyaddress 1 true, I'm not seeing the "newaddr" showing up in bitcoind, and can't seem to find how lightning handles its generated addresses. -snip- If you haven't sent any funds to the address, then isn't listreceivedbyaddress working correctly?

You should flush out your ReadMe so that users who visit your repo will have a better idea of how to use your tool and what its purposes are. If you are not a native english speaker I'm sure someone here can help you do that. Is the file supposed to be a simple text file with different addresses? (This would be an example of information to include in your readme)

Economy / Lending / Re: [WANT] 2 BTC [PUTTING UP] 3.25 BTC Collateral [PAY] $500 USD [TERM] 30 DAYS
|
on: February 07, 2018, 11:16:14 PM

Why would I give you 2 BTC to go and purchase altcoins and then give me altcoins? If I want to buy altcoins, why wouldn't I just go purchase them myself and cut you out? Where is the value add? This makes no sense.
Because then you wouldn't have any collateral and therefore you'd have all the risk instead of the OP. As proposed, the OP would risk everything and also have all the benefits if it works (minus $500). It seems you didn't read OP or didn't understand it.
The only thing you need to say explicitly Ggddtt: if the collateral decreases in value and you fail to send more BTC to keep it at more than 120% then there must be a condition to liquidate the collateral while it's still above 100%. The lender and you need to agree on the thresholds (ex: 120% and 108%) and time limit to send more BTC. You can also make it a little more simple if the lender (if trusted, otherwise the escrow) directly buys the altcoins you say and keeps them, instead of sending the BTC to you. You're right, I misunderstood - that's what I get for browsing while at work. I agree wholeheartedly with your last statement, due to the volatility. Good luck.

I’m quite unsure as to what you mean. It all seems very complicated and I’m sure that you can explain this much better.
But what I do see is that you’re wanting the lender to not liquidate your altcoins which is pretty much not going to happen. If you were to take out a loan from anyone the lender will have to liquidate the collateral if it goes under a certain amount that is predetermined. If collateral slips below 100% and you don’t pay back then it’s a huge risk for the lender
PM me with a simplified version of this and I’ll get back to you.
-snip- The 2 Bitcoin will be used to immediately buy the same coins. These coins will be sent to the lender (or escrow) after purchase. Therefore, the lender will have lent out 2 Bitcoin but be holding ~3.25 Bitcoin worth of these altcoins as collateral (~182%). -snip- Why would I give you 2 BTC to go and purchase altcoins and then give me altcoins? If I want to buy altcoins, why wouldn't I just go purchase them myself and cut you out? Where is the value add? This makes no sense.

again i require the loan tied to USD not btc. repayment will be paid in btc according to the value at that time
Can you provide info on the use of the loan? It sounds like you could simply buy BTC, wait a month and then when the value is up make your repayment and pocket the difference in BTC. Can you acknowledge my inquiry? Thanks.

Try it with you way, with a new tokens.txt but nothing... I dont know what to do What exactly are you trying to recover here. The seed should store your entire wallet shouldn't it? What else are you missing? If the seed recovers the right addresses, then that means that any history should alos be accurate and the derivation path is accurate. If there is nothing in the wallet then you have nothing left in that wallet. Unless you have another wallet file, is there anything else in that folder that follows a name electrum would make (other than one you recently made for your wallet, like wallet_1 or wallet_2 etc...). I'm trying to recover my password from my wallet and to get again access to my wallet. The seed restore my wallet, but there is nothing on it (no balance, adresses, nothing) -snip- If you are using a seed to restore your wallet and it contains no information then I dont understand what the problem is. It's not hiding the address/balances behind a password, the wallet is just empty.

Are you sure it was a bitcoin wallet ? It could be of any alternate currencies wallet, so just try to remember. I had a look at your screen shots and it seems that the wallet is empty as there are high amount of debit transaction also. You can try your luck and be careful from the scammers who are just waiting for the people like you. All the best mate.
the most popular back then was probably litecoin, try that first It already been checked by LoyceV stating above : I checked the usual supects (Doge and LTC), but they both don't show anything on that address either.which these address isn't on litecoin also. This really put question on my mind since theres no single transaction been found on blockchain. Load the wallet.dat into the core wallets of Doge/LTC and it will generate an address for those coins using the pairs in your wallet.dat - so it will look like a valid wallet but will act similar to what we are seeing here. There may be a more direct way to convert between multiple wallet formats but I once loaded an altcoin wallet into my Dogecoin wallet and thought I had found 3-4M Doge, only to later realize it was a different altcoin. Worth a shot.

Will you be escrowing funds?
This question is important for your asking price. It may also help to list out some additional requirements, including whether you are expecting someone to host the site for you or simply develop it and hand it off.
