3  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Is 1000W enough for 4 5830s? on: August 15, 2011, 02:02:46 PM
I have two 4x5830 rigs, both on Corair 750w PSUs, they each pull about 750w with a Kill-a-watt meter.  I've been running them like this for about a month, no issues.

-4x5830 (1000/300)
-USB Drive
-CPU Fan
4  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What the hell did I just buy? (MSI R5870) on: July 16, 2011, 04:31:20 PM
You bought these:

Still a good deal at $150!
5  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: what did you start mining with? on: July 16, 2011, 03:50:03 PM
Started with my 6870 in my main PC, which I was wanting to upgrade anyway.  So i got two 6950s.  Then picked up 4x5830s when they came in stock.  And about two weeks ago, picked up another 4x5830 setup.

So, I started with about 300mhash, now am at about 3200 mhash Smiley

Same, I deposited 1btc, it has 10 confirmations now and it does not show up on the site.
7  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Poclbm sees my GPUs, but wont start [SOLVED] on: July 11, 2011, 06:34:14 AM
Fresh Ubuntu 11.04 install, using the Stream 2.1 drivers and Poclbm. I followed the guide in the hardware forums on installing all the software on Ubuntu Natty.

.poclbm.py returns:
Code:
No device specified or device not found, use -d to specify one of the following

[0]     AMD Sempron(tm) 140 Processor
[1]     Cypress
[2]     Cypress
[3]     Cypress
[4]     Cypress

When I try to start poclbm and connect to my pool, I get this:
Code:
root@sethmonix2:/home/nix2/poclbm# ./poclbm.py -d1 --host=arsbitcoin.com --port=
8344 --user=user --pass=pass --worksize=128 --vectors
Usage: poclbm.py [OPTION]... SERVER[#tag]...
SERVER is one or more [http[s]://]user:pass@host:port          (required)
[#tag] is a per SERVER user friendly name displayed in stats   (optional)

This is the same line I use on my other machines, what gives?

[Edit]
Solved.
This fixed it:
Code:
./poclbm.py -d1 --worksize=128 --vectors http://sethmo38.nix6:Fdswer3422@arsbitcoin.com:8344

Was the line I was using for an older version of poclbm?
8  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 2x6950 running hot (88 C) on: July 11, 2011, 05:18:33 AM
Running my unlocked shader 6950s right now at core 900/mem 500 in an open case at 61C and 64C @ ~66% fan speed.  Only additional cooling is two 120mm fans sitting on top of the two cards.

Both of my cards are the MSI reference 6950s

Also, what do you have your fan speeds set to?

Anyone know the script/prog running at the bottom that shows combined hashrates and what not?
10  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5830's, what mh/s are you getting? on: July 08, 2011, 03:14:19 PM
All 4 of my Sapphire 5830s do 307-310mhash in Ubuntu

Flashed with RBE:
Core: 1000
Mem: 344
Voltage: Stock
Fans: 85-100%
Temp:58-72C(depending on when my AC runs)
11  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: your power draw @ the wall with 4x? on: July 07, 2011, 03:36:16 AM
4 x 5850 on Sempron = 620W at wall / 1400 Mh/s
Cool, I will have two setups of 4 5830s on Corsair 750psu, was worried that I would be getting close to the limit of my psu.  Should be good Smiley

I would have if I didn't already buy 4 5830s yesterday!
13  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: a good alternative to this chassis on: July 06, 2011, 02:58:10 PM
You can make one like mine out of 80/20 Aluminum for probably under $200 pretty easily, which compared to the one the OP linked, would be a deal as mine can hold two systems.  I am going to modify it tonight to have the cards spaced and mounted off the motherboard.

You can by 80/20 extrusion off of eBay or Amazon(seller 80/20 Inc).

I made two deposits today and they both showed up after 1 confirmation, the third time I made a deposit, I got nothing in my account.  The deposit now has 4 confirmations.  Any help?

Of course, but you'll have to give me a whole lot more detail... by PM if you wish... let me know your username and/or deposit address.

Thanks.  "Issue" resolved Smiley

Just made a bench case out of some spare parts from this and some plexi.  Going to order a some more 80/20 so I can make the legs taller and make some sort of brackets so I can use the pci riser cables and run 4 5830s per motherboard.

I was going to order the MyOpenPC Domo PCI stackable cases, but they are out of stock until July.  You can get this 80/20 aluminum extrusion on eBay and Amazon, but with all the brackets and bolts, it isn't the cheapest.

19  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: any ideas to reach 300+Mhash/sec on a 6870 using Phoenix? on: July 02, 2011, 09:56:04 PM
Don't you mean 6950 running 6970 bios?  Those numbers you posted can't be from a 6850 ...
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie restrictions on: July 01, 2011, 08:26:43 PM
Somewhat annoying restrictions, although I'll play along because I want access to the rest of the boards. Might there be a better way? I'm not sure.
If you really are in a hurry to get unrestricted, you can try your luck here:
