241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin-FINAL BETA LAUNCHED! *ENCRYPTION, MARKETPLACE, BTC INTEGRATION* on: March 08, 2016, 04:54:05 PM
Smiley Thanks for the update!

Yes I believe, that this coin is still underpriced.

Is there any other coin, like ethereum where there can be a dapp that could do the same thing??
Or is this something unique, because that will make a big difference.
In the meantime I will be buying some cheap Syscoin, till the price will blow up!!

Nothing as of my research when writing this blog http://syscoin.org/in-depth-look-at-the-syscoins-decentralized-marketplace-and-comparing-it-to-the-competition/

and Eth had a dapp with a small team but it got postphoned and no work was being done, Vitalik Buterin actually wanted us to work on ethereum to do a marketplace and was willing to part-fund it however I feel we need a workign prototype with requirements flushed out first before we move into the dapp world(yes its a possibility aslong as it benefits holders of sys). No other marketplace I believe really comes close, OpenBazaar is p2p and I feel its goign to have a hard time scaling and becoming usable. Bitbay is really only other one but it is severly under manned and developer is swamped with work, especially with the features he wants to do, we will really be alone in this category of what we are trying to achieve. One of our competitors actually have reached out to us to see if there was a way to have them work for sys and we are currently still working out details on if and how this may be possible.

Ethermarket was the dapp i'm talking about, I researched it in september 2015 and even left messages for their developers on their gitter chat, and as you can see my last messages from sept 1 still stand as the last messages so I assume it has been abandoned.

Ok See that is what I am talking about no other coin, has the possibility's of a decentralized market place like Syscoin.
Then I really see this going big, It is just up to the creators to really create a good wallet/marketplace.
And There probably will be a market like this as a Ethereum Dapp then, but that will probably take a long time.
I think when the official release is done, and people will start to make use of the market place we will see a big price increase then.
Especially if the drugsmarket moves to Sys, I will be buying some more!
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: March 08, 2016, 04:44:42 PM
I know Bitcoin was the first and is still the best cryptocurrency out there, But ethereum is and will stay number 2 for a long time!

If this is true than please answer these 2 questions.

What DAPPs do you see as having a practical use case and why wouldn't I use fuels given to me on a more secure PoS clone? Why spend 3 pennies or higher on DAPP cpu cycles when I am given fuel for free and than when I run out new fuel is a fraction of the cost of ethereum with its clone?

Other many concerns :

1) Vitalik organization is running out of money as he admitted himself and he will need to start dumping his large bag to pay expenses
2) You think Bitcoin has scaling problems , Ethereum's blocksize is already over 10GB and no one is using it. Even if they "sharded up" and pruned the blocksize they are going to have much larger problems because there currency isn't a currency but fuel for cpu cycles, thus a popular DAPP would both drive up the cost of cpu cycles and clog the network
3) 12 sec blocktimes is absurdly small and leads to too many orphans or forks. This is why Monero devs are increasing from 1 minute block times to 2 or more

Ok 1 practical Dapp I would see useful is a Dapp that would Hold all the elections of a country.
A way for the people to really vote in a democratic way, where you are sure you can't be cheated.
You can vote for everything, and then we would eventually not need politics.
And I could think of so many more good examples.

And why would I go for a clone, when Ethereum has the most money to build something good?
The only thing I see coming close to Ethereum is Lisk and We just have to see how that goes.

But you have a lot of concerns, and I am more positive about it.
I agree the blockchain is pretty big, I am downloading it right now and it is about 80% right now.
And it is already taking 6 hours, So that is indeed big and will only get bigger.
And they also say it is really easy for the normal people, But you still need some computer experience for this.

243  Other / Off-topic / Re: Question About 2FA and Privacy on: March 08, 2016, 04:29:29 PM
Because 2-factor methods are not limited to phones or apps. You can use your pgp key which is likely what most of the darknet markets use.

Gotcha...thanks for the clarification.  I'm just kind of getting started in terms of browsing deep web sites, etc. and TOR, so I'm coming across a few things I don't quite understand.  Another thing I'd seen was people who had their personal pages on .onion domains....but were still using their full names, etc.  I just don't understand why one would want a .onion site and *not* be anonymous.

Yes, I am using the 2 factor Authentication now, and it is really just the Google authenticator app which you download from the store.
And there you can have multiple websites or bitcoin wallets in there, So you will stay anonymous if you want.

I personally really like the 2 factor authentication, because I feel safer putting my Bitcoins in A wallet with 2 factor Authentication.
244  Other / Off-topic / Re: what do you think about live after dead....? believe it or not..? why..? on: March 08, 2016, 04:22:57 PM
This is a very interesting discussion, I think there is nothing if you are dead.
There is no real proof Ghosts or a afterlife so I don't believe it, till there is proof.

So I guess I will see it When I die,.
But I think its the same when you are asleep.
There is totally nothing when you are sleeping, so I you can compare it to that.
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Ether Mining Profitability Calculator on: March 08, 2016, 03:50:35 PM
The link is no longer available. I created a new one which includes power consumption along with the most popular graphic cards characteristics:

http://cryptowizzard.github.io/eth-mining-calculator

Ok I checked it out and I don't see my video card there.
I have a bad one though a Nvidia gt430.
Could you maybe add a bad video card like that to see what it does?
246  Other / Off-topic / Re: what pc game should i play on: March 08, 2016, 03:32:01 PM
I would try a free to play game, now a days the free to play games are good enough
Like:

League of Legends
Dota 2

If you like only pvp games,
But I got gta 5 for the pc the other day and it is really good as well.

And yes Cs:go is a really good game as well but it will get boring after a while.

248  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why voting for the liar? on: March 08, 2016, 02:46:00 PM
I stopped voting, just because of this reasons.

All politicians are liars, They all just shout some things they will do.
Just so they reach a fanbase of people who think yes he/she will fix everything.

Just so that the politician comes in place and he will continue the plans of the real people in control,
Politicians are just pawns and  they are being used for personal agenda's.

Also the current voting system is corrupt, how do we know that there is really no corruption with the votes as well.
I think we should get a real honest voting system with Ethereum!
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do ETH investors understand Ethereum? on: March 08, 2016, 02:34:43 PM
It is true that Ethereum is hard to understand, Just because it is not only a cryptocurrency.

But they are talking about totally new things, like Smart Contracts, Dapps And A blockchain where you can create your own currency, and Applications.
I must say I also don't know everything about about Ethereum there is to know, I didn't blindly invest tho.

I just watched a few video's about Ethereum and also read a few articles.
And finally this video explained a lot for me:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0X33lgMbvdI

But still I don't understand everything about ethereum, simple because I am not a Programmer.
But I do however see that this could be something great and it is no Joke!
250  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think about 9/11 mystery? on: March 08, 2016, 02:25:23 PM
Except a few part,  American people can't believe in contrary American media organs. America always needs an enemy for keeping society in way.
Sometimes enemy is Iraqi terrorists, sometimes Afghanistani,  sometimes aliens or zombies. Before 90's enemy was Soviet Russia.
Therefore 9/11 is a terrorist attack and it will never change even US Government would say "we did it"

Yes America is always trying to find a enemy, they use the scare/divide tactic with great success.
I think the official statement was done way to quickly and they didn't answer all questions.

I mean if it wasn't a inside job and, it was really the work of some simple terrorists.
Then why be so secret, and why wouldn't you investigate the whole situation properly, so that no one would have any questions.
Even the people who lost family members there have questions, and they aren't answered.

251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your gambling stats? (Profit/Loss) on: March 08, 2016, 02:19:09 PM
I don't really gamble, but I used to play poker a lot.
And made some nice profits with that, I started with a 25 Euro deposit on Pokerstars.

And I played the micro stakes cash money tables, and I played really tight.
When I got 100$, I started to play sit and goes up to 500+ dollar.

But then I lost my job and I needed the money so i Withdrawed the money.
And I never played serious poker since then.
252  Economy / Economics / Re: Sell Everything? on: March 08, 2016, 02:16:15 PM
No you shouldn't sell everything, you should try to get as much as possible.

Of course you can sell a little if you really need money, for important things like rent or food.
But you should think long-term if you sell now and in the future the price will be much higher you will cry.
If you are not in it for the long term investment you should at least wait till the halvening.
253  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: March 08, 2016, 01:51:43 PM
In the future all our paper money will be changed to digital money if you ask me, everything is gonna be digital these days.
Its just a matter of time before the paper money will disappear for good.

Yes I think so to, and it is already happening as well.

Think of it The money on your bank account is digitally already.
You already doing digital transactions with it as well.

The problem it is backed bye nothing, the bank doesn't even have the money in the bank to pay everyone their money!
If everyone chooses to withdraw money from the bank there would be a big problem.

That is why Bitcoin is the future!

255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: March 08, 2016, 12:32:46 PM
Guys When the homestead releases, there will also be a new wallet right?
Because At the moment I have my ethereum on a exhange, and I am going to wait until homestead.
Before I will send my coins to the wallet, because then I don't have to take care of the change right?

And I don't understand why ethereum is going down but there seems a strong resistance at 10 dollar so that is good!
You already can download a Homestead ready wallet from their github.
https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases

Homestead is 1.3.4. I downloaded a few days ago. It is working properly. I already used the new geth to send some funds.

Ok nice thank you man!, I downloaded the new wallet and I had a minor problem, but it is fixed because I only needed to sync my windows clock!
Also I downloaded the miner and I got a error Get qt 5.5 So I downloaded that, but haven't opened it yet.

Because I am downloading the Ethereum blockchain now!!
But when I have the miner ready will a Nvidia gt 260 still get some Ethereum or am I to late for that?
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 08, 2016, 12:29:41 PM
I opened new exchange like a week ago but i havent send any bitcoins to it. Is it to late now to send to that exchange or i have to make a new one and just ignore that one week old one?

Yes just to be safe you should make a new exchange!
I also still have a exchange open from the first day.

But I asked in the chat and they advised me to make a new exchange.
You will get 5% less bonus but you will have no problems for sure!

258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Pump & Dump Scam on: March 08, 2016, 12:21:44 PM
Agree! I sold my last Eth at $11.24. The air was getting to thin at this highs. The fair price is around $4 to $5 at the moment. I guess Eth will see at least $6 or $7 again before their is space to rise again.

You are kinda lucky then, I had a sell order out at 0.03.
But then it rises a lot and I removed the sell order because I thought it would even go higher.

My mistake because right after 0.03 it went down kinda hard.
And I even bought some more at 0.02900001, So I don't really care for the short term gains.

Im atleast going to hold Ethereum 1-2 years, minimum!

I am Downloading the blockchain as we speak, I had a little bit of problems.
But when I synct my clock it was all good!
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: March 08, 2016, 12:17:04 PM
ether is just a toy for big sharks. stay away Smiley

That made me laugh, I don't know did u even do some research about ethereum??
When I first heard about it the first thing what I did was find as much info about it as I could.

And I really think it is going to be something big, not bigger then Bitcoin, but at least a good number 2.
I mean come on Litecoin is almost the same as Bitcoin why would I use Litecoin over Bitcoins..

We needed a good number 2 and Ethereum is here to stay and grow.
Especially since they have good connections to the financial and political world!

Sounds like you are trying to create a problem to justify Ethereum as a solution to the problem.

The problem does not exist. We don't need a "good number 2".

Now if there is an actual problem Ethereum actually solves in a novel way, it may become a "good number 2" but becoming a "good number 2" is not itself a problem.

I flush "good number 2"s down the toilet every day.

Ok, I am not creating a problem, I think Bitcoin is great, But there will always be a new coin that will at least compete with Bitcoin.
I know Ethereum is not here to compete with Bitcoin, they said themselves: We see Bitcoin as the Gold, and Ethereum as Oil.

So I still think ethereum is a good number 2 in the crypto world!

And why don't we need a good number 2?
I mean there will always be a number 2 no matter what, the technology is still pretty new, so there is always room for improvement.
And then why not Ethereum, it bring's a lot of new innovation and, they are very smart bringing this to all the people of the world.

I know Bitcoin was the first and is still the best cryptocurrency out there, But ethereum is and will stay number 2 for a long time!
