601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hash Rate hits 100 000 000 GH/s! on: June 03, 2014, 08:46:49 PM
When will sell all of Neptune Knc. Will be at 200,000.

This is already consuming so much electricity, and there will be used more every day.
Isnt there a better option to make bitcoin more eco friendly?
Like make a miner that mines with solarpanels something like that would awesome.
602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: And now a bank realizes bitcoin's potential finally!(citibank) on: June 03, 2014, 08:39:10 PM
Well some people believe we can't live without banks.
So I think banks will always have some kind of business.
Maybe it can be storing bitcoins or lending bitcoins.
They will probably find something to do like that, or someone has to make them really hated.

I bought half a million today , that should speak for itself  Wink
I bought 7 million the last few days and keep mining it Smiley

How can you still mine mintcoin?
Are you mining it at one of those multipools or somewhere else.
Can you get alot of mintcoins doing that?
604  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: June 03, 2014, 08:19:51 PM
I think they are both really good investments.
But at the moment I think that I pick Bitcoin.
Because it hasn't shown us his true potential.
The price will probably rise much higher then gold I believe.
But thats just my opinion.
605  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM BYUING! on: June 03, 2014, 08:16:26 PM
This is the last chance we will ever have to purchase a sub-$700 bitcoin.  Mainstream adoption will be achieved within 2 years.

There are alot of predictions in other topics its going down and below 500 again.
But I think your right about this, there is a point where we just leave the 500$ range.
And 1000$ will be the standard then or maybe even more.
606  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Truth About Bitcoin!! on: June 03, 2014, 08:11:08 PM
And how do you suggest that we can be free of all this? Cheesy

This forum needs a conspiracy sub-section.

Haha yes we could use a conspiracy section.
I read alot of interesting topics on this forum about this subject.

Well about the Aliens that was a interesting read, especially about the hive mind.
That would be cool all humans, that  can think togheter in one mind.
I never tought of that, it would be hard to achieve I think maybe the 3d printer can help someday with that.
607  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Re: Watch Dogs on: June 03, 2014, 07:19:53 PM

608  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No news on CNN about air bombing on Lugansk. on: June 03, 2014, 06:45:07 PM
I havent seen anything today about this in the newspapers.
Or on the Western online news websites, ofcourse Russia today is also from Putin
So if we can trust them is a different story to.
But I like them because they touch subjects most newstations dont dare to cover.
609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The problem with Bitcoin is on: June 03, 2014, 06:42:06 PM
I dont think theres any problem with bitcoin at all. Thats what makes it so great.
The current problem might be that it's directly associated to drug/weapon trade in the eyes of the Common Joe.

Well the Common Joe have loads of reasons to move away from bitcoins.
Mostly with information they got from the newspapers and newsstations.
Drugs and weapons
Criminals
Hackers
Nerds

that's what most common people relate to when they hear bitcoins
So we should solve the problems ahead of us.
610  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: June 03, 2014, 06:28:20 PM
Of course it depends on at what age you'd be retiring.
Say you'd be 50 and hoping to live another 30 years. 100.000 would make for a very comfortable living (with no boats tho), so 100.000x30=3.000.000$

In many places of this forum bitcoin's target value was set at 300.000$, so you should be fine with 10btc.

However, I'd try to buy more and spend them along the way, it's better to enjoy the ride and you never know the future, maybe btc will do fine for a long time, maybe it won't...

100000 is probably enough if you have no house yet, but if you still need to buy a house.
You probably need to make alot more then 100k, or do you mean 100k per year to spend?
I would that's a little much but really nice to live with, but you should also think about your family.
Do you want them to work a shitty job, or maybe you can get them some riches to.
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LOL] LeagueCoin | X11 | PoW + PoS on: June 03, 2014, 05:19:14 PM
1.5 Million for a tip coin with 27 Million player, come on guys, think a lot before lauch your coins,

so I will tip 0.1 ?

I m a diamond 1 Player, trust me its a really good idea and can help inmprove the community with reward,

(maybe you read my post on dogecoin about this who knows)

EDIT :  You should throw a give away for every LoL account for BTC talk members, do not miss the opportunity with this coin, he can have a great succes, the community is huge, and the behaviour of the players can be improved, maybe Riot could be interested by something "official".

What about the legal status with Riot Staff? they know about bot?

Yes 1,5 million coins for such a huge playerbase is not alot of coins.
Do you think it will interest Lol players, that never heard of cryptocurrencies to buy some leaguecoins?
Only people who already crypto's will buy this but, it has some positive things to.

I really like that you can bet with your coins on the League of Legends pro matches.
And buy some sick skins, but there are just to little coins for everyone.
612  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: June 03, 2014, 11:18:48 AM
yesterday i saw the series crossbones, its about pirate's with john malcovich.
Its about: The golden age of piracy in the 1700s and centers on legendary pirate Blackbeard
First episode was good, malcovich plays a really good pirate, and the special effect are not to bad.
If you love pirate's this is your serie!

Is this on netflix/hulu/amazon or where are you watching it from?

I just downloaded it man, but I looked it up and it's on Nbc.
Btw did you see the new game of thrones episode guys?
It was sick, the fight between the mountain and The red viper was very good to.
I didnt like the outcome however, and I want to see where this is going but have to wait till monday Undecided
613  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: June 03, 2014, 11:05:11 AM
I think we will see a suprise, everyone says Brazil, Germany or Spain but I think someone unexpected can win.

Maybe like The Netherlands, we have a crazy good coach Louis van Gaal.
And we also have some good players, like Sneijder, robben and van Persie.
Those 3 players are probably playing there last WK and there last change on the cup.
So maybe we could suprise, lets see what we bring against Spain.

In reaction to the online bank idea, I'd like to share my idea to fund the mintcoin fund:

A central place/website where you create an account, send mintcoins to an unique address an can withdraw anytime. The coins that are minted in the big hot shared wallet will be send and used for the mintcoin fund.

This way you don't have to donate in a way where you lose coins, but you lend some of your mint money as long as you want.

[account: John Doe]
You have contributed 34930 mint by keeping your mintcoins in The Stake House
(or something like that).

We can call it: The Stake House, GreenMinting, Mint4Mint, Mint4Life, ...

That is actually a cool idea, we could use the mintcoins to do some crazy stuff like make some famous girl promote mintcoin.
Or use them for a charity, or build something foor poor people just something to bring attention to mint.
I think alot of people would help out if it was something they believed in, and someone trustworthy is behind it.
Hit me up if you need any help.
615  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Truthseeker: US plans 'first strike' on Russia on: June 02, 2014, 10:40:01 PM
It's quite unlikely that the US would launch a first strike. They are in no position to. The only way this could happen is total insanity officially occurs in American's. That is a threat but the WORLD isn't allowing this to happen.

Whether this can or can't happen is a matter of power and the US is in the process of loosing its world dominating power, namely the number one spot in the world economy. How far will they go to avoid loosing that? This is the worlds most militarised nation and wars are vital to their economy. Imho that was a large part of the reason for wanting to attack Syria, the US economy is facing collapse and desperately needs another war and the public backlash over Syria has made that situation more even more desperate.

The internet has given the world a voice and a means of avoiding propaganda, the old tried and tested means of control aren't as effective any more. Even Bitcoin has seriously threatened that power, its a poxy little 10 billion cap but the genie's out of the bottle and central banking's days are numbered. The only way of putting those genie's back in the bottle is boarders on communications between nations and the most effective way of achieving that is turning nations into enemies. I really hope that's just the tinfoil hat doing the thinking but those that forget the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them and history has many examples of powers corruption.

Yes very well said,
I would like to add that The Usa has alot of weapon manufacturer's, and they have alot of money and lobbyists.
So there are alot of people and companies that will profit from war, Also the people that control the debt of America (fed) would like to see them at war.
Just because they are spending there dollars, they have to pay them back so that's profit for the people that control the fed again.
So the American soldiers and people are told they are fighting for there 'freeworld' but they are just the lowest pawns, in a war giving there life just for money, power and control.

I would like to believe America wouldn't start a war just out of nothing, but as history has proven they will just do a falseflag attack and invade any country they fucking want.
Just to force democracy on them, that is supposed to be freedom.

616  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Life after Silk Road: how the darknet drugs market is booming on: June 02, 2014, 08:49:35 PM
I just actually read this wich is very on topic:
http://www.coindesk.com/study-silk-road-may-have-reduced-drug-violence/

I wonder if we'll see the big cartels doing DOS on Silk road or denouncing their owners to the police (or doing worst) in order to end online competition.

Anonymity might be helpful not only against the police.

I don't think so

there's one advantage of getting drugs from dealers instead of online

you get the stuff right away instead of waiting for 30 days or so

there will always be people who want the stuff right away

dealers will remain

Yes there will probably will always be dealers, even with silkroad.
I mean I live in The Netherlands where I can buy weed at a coffeeshop, but I still buy at a dealer.
Just because I know them personal, and they are closer, faster and cheaper then the coffeshop
But I hope the really bad drugdealers (those prepared to kill for drugs/money) will die because of silkroad (probably not)
Because you have some really good and nice drugdealers, that also just want to make money and not harm anyone (mostly Marijuana dealers)
617  Economy / Economics / Re: Worst bitcoin decision you've ever made? on: June 02, 2014, 08:40:55 PM
Buying Butterfly labs there mining contract's
They are only 10 per contract and I bought 2, they said they would be activated within a few month's after purchasing.
And they haven't yet, I also tought I was able to mine scrypt with that contract but I was wrong  Grin
I even asked for advise on this forum, and they advised against buying anything from BFL, but I was stubborn.
Im lucky its only 20 dollar, and they should be activated so im still gonna mine some bitcoin with them, hopefully!
618  Economy / Economics / Re: What would happen if BTC was accepted for gasoline? on: June 02, 2014, 08:33:12 PM
Sorry for not specifying.

What I am asking is what would happen to Bitcoin's price, as well as its popularity and acceptance among merchants.
So;
1. What would happen to Bitcoin's price?
2. What would happen to Bitcoin's acceptance among merchants?
3. What would happen to Bitcoin's popularity?

These can all be answered in your opinion.

This is a really interesting question, because probably every human being stops at the gas station atleast once in their lifes.
So for a gas station to accept bitcoin would be a great step for bitcoin I would say.

1. Price will rise for sure!
2. I think more and more will accept bitcoin as a payment just to not lose customers.
3. Go trough the roof, especially when there is some kind of discount on your gasoline if you pay with bitcoin!

I even believe after reading this question, that we should get some gas stations to accept bitcoin as payment and see what happens.
619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 symptoms of having a partner obsessed with Bitcoin on: June 02, 2014, 08:27:40 PM
Haha this made me laugh, really nicely done.
I think everyone here can atleast relate to this picture, because they will have tried to tell people about bitcoin.
I will show this to my friends and ask if I do this to  Grin
Because every moment I can, I will talk about it and the possibilities it has.
And I think sometimes they could get tired because of that.
620  Economy / Speculation / Re: Beta version of new Bitcoin price prediction model! on: June 02, 2014, 08:22:22 PM
This is actually a nice idea, im gonna remember some predictions for the future.
And I will compare them to actual data from that day.
I see however in the 20 days prediction, Bitcoin is not doing good at all in those 20 days.
Ill screenshot that and will compare in 20 days!
