Donating a little amount of our wealth won't make us poor. So,  just donate right away.
And if I have to give first priority to help,  I would help children  who are malnutrition, homeless,  and those who don't get education.

If you're asking about which one to invest in 2018, bitcoin or ethereum, I simply say just invest in both of them. How come? Because I do so. I invest in both bitcoin and Ethereum although it's just a little amount. I believe that both of them have a good potential to grow very  highly in this year. We can see in the market cap that two of them are on the first and second list. Besides the users of them are getting bigger. For sure, it's better to invest in both of them instead of one. There are two things in investment ; lost and profit. I guess everyone will always be ready of getting profit, and won't be ready of getting lost. Just ask yourself whether you have enough courage to take any risks that may happen if you invest in bitcoin. As I  believe, if you decide to make investment in bitcoin, don’t question such thing because it will make you to think negative. Investing just needs one thing that is courage.
