201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Project Initiators and Team need KYC more than Investors on: January 25, 2019, 10:37:44 PM
Rather project initiators or developers should be made to do KYC, in order to gain the trust of investors, who want to invest in their projects.
You are probably right it would be nice to have a system where you can trust the devs up front. But I don't think the devs and project members are going to do KYC willingly. They may force the investors and bounty hunters to do KYC because they are in such a position to ask for whatever they want. My advice is to just avoid any and all campaigns where KYC is needed and you will be fine.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You see it or you don't on: January 25, 2019, 07:57:15 PM
Reveal the secret, which coin you are talking about.
Yes, the OP should reveal the secret. It is easy to make a riddle like that without any substantiation. I also don't see any coin or token capable of surpassing bitcoin in marketcap, or in any other metrics for that matter. I will stay tuned for sure, but don't expect to see any significant change at the top with regards to market cap. OP, just let us know how long we should wait, cause it may be a long indefinite wait for your prediction to come true.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good news from Japan on: January 24, 2019, 07:26:26 PM
It is overall a good news, and it could be that the much needed push for a bullish run comes from Japan. But the post doesn't say much about the details of retail payments. For example it says that payments in BTC will be one of the option, but it is not clear if other crypto currencies will be supported. It is also not clear how they will deal with the volatility, because so far the volatility has been the major obstacle for merchant payments.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Grin coin. Opportunity awaits you on: January 23, 2019, 08:22:27 PM
I was thinking about Grin, either to invest or to try to mine. And I still have it on my list of alts with a lot of potential. The fact that it is accepted as a way of payment on this forum proves this. But what I don't like is the fact that it has unlimited supply. The price used to oscillate a lot in the past, which was also something that made me hold back. If only it had a cap from above, it would be easier to decide.
205  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading with 1 simple but very accurate trading tool, bollinger bands!!! on: January 23, 2019, 01:33:06 PM
Bollinger bands are good if you trade the 3m, 5m, or 15m time frames. Not so good if you go to the higher time frames. The only thing you should be careful about is the sudden pumps and dumps. If a pump or dump catches you off guard, you will be in a lot of trouble. It may ruin your entire profit from the previous trades. I speak this from personal experience. Be very careful and I think you must use stop losses. A pump and dump can be so big that the price can go really deep and never return. There is no recovery from huge pumps.  I agree with the others that you can not be profitable all the time. There must be some loses. If you have more wins than loses, you will be fine.
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hyperledger is different from the rest on: January 23, 2019, 10:27:57 AM
It looks interesting because it is run by the Linux foundation. On the other side I think a blockchain like this is missing the point because they don't have a crypto currency. They seem to want to stay clear of any payments on the hyperledger. But if you do not have an incentive to keep the system decentralized what is the point of the ledger? Yes big companies may use it for their purposes. But there will always be the danger that the ledger can be manipulated by some of the players and their projects.
207  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Margin Trading - Winning guides for 100x BTC/USD leverage. on: January 23, 2019, 08:39:13 AM
When I try Crypto margin trading, I was use 3x leverage first but in many trade the price touched stop loss.
I agree about 100x leverage being like gambling. But where was your stop loss placed when you did 3x? Close to the liquidation price, or further away? I can imagine to get a margin call with 100x leverage it is very easy, but it is more difficult to get a margin called if you go only 3x.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cloud mining still profitable? on: January 22, 2019, 08:06:23 PM
I don't use cloud mining and I don't know about bitdeer.com, but they all operate the same so I would suppose that this site is like the others of this type. And no they are not profitable, if you ask if you can make profit with them. The owners of such sites can be profitable, but the users certainly not. If you decide to try cloud mining, read the terms of their service very carefully.
209  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is stoploss worth it ? on: January 22, 2019, 07:12:36 PM
I am achieving the target but as the recent dip was a big one, it took away all the profit I made.
With this sentence above you have identified the main reason why a stop loss is worth it: "To save you from big dips." Depending on the platform you trade on, it may or it may not get triggered. But most of the time it will prevent you from losing all the profit you have made. The other side of the story is that stop losses are visible on the platform you trade on. The big players know where the majority of stop losses are. They may move the price toward the stop losses to pick them up and provide enough liquidity before moving in the other direction. This is a real danger for most of the retail traders. All things considered, I think it is better to trade with stop losses, always.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning network capacity of Litecoin up by 116% on: January 21, 2019, 04:37:15 PM
Lol who said the Lightning network is dead.
It is not dead, the opposite is true. The LN is the future, both for bitcoin and for litecoin. The number of channels are increasing, which is great. Let's see if the people behind litecoin succeed to educate and persuade more merchants to accept LTC payments.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mistake you should avoid when holding your Altcoins on: January 21, 2019, 01:36:30 PM
I think you have a point there, but only if you can get a decent equivalent in BTC for them. If not, I would rather wait for the bull run than sell my alts for peanuts. I know that some of them may die during the waiting period, but the other alts that survive the bear market, may be worth something after all.
212  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risk management on: January 21, 2019, 08:48:33 AM
I think that 1:1 or 1:2 or 1:4 risk reward ratios are all the same. They all limit your possible profit. You are limiting your potential reward by exiting too soon. There are runs that can make you a lot of money. In them, risk reward ratios are as large as 1:20 or 1:30. But you are exiting too soon. It is much better to take some profit, like exit half of your position at break even, and let the rest run as high as possible. These are real winners that many traders are missing because they exit too soon.
213  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bear markets survival on: January 21, 2019, 07:44:51 AM
My trading is currently on hold. The market is too crazy even if you trade short term. It is like gambling. Sudden jumps up or down make it very difficult to predict the market movements. I don't know if you can use any indicators for this kind of market. In my opinion it is better to hold what you already have and not lose your bitcoins. When the bulls come again, it would be a different story. You would be able to trade the various alts more easily and make profit. Patience is the key word now.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How we know scam altcoin project on: January 20, 2019, 06:25:59 PM
You guys that have a lot experience must be know the sign of scam project..
Are you asking how to avoid scam projects you want to invest in or how to avoid scam bounties to participate in? Anyhow both questions can be reduced to more or less the same requirements. Read the whitepaper, check the team members, inspect the website, beware of unrealistic promises or rewards. With bounties, ensure the bounty manager is not a newbie but a higher ranked member with earned merits and positive trust. If you follow these steps you can diminish the chance of being tricked, but you can never be one hundred percent sure.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Emerging Markets Trigger A Bitcoin Comeback in 2019? on: January 20, 2019, 03:34:22 PM
According to the post the main problems for bigger adoption in the emerging markets are of technical nature, like people not knowing how to install wallets, make transactions, and such. I think this is a general problem and not just in the case of emerging markets. The proposed solution in the post is to use SMS  for transactions. I think this is not the right solution. The right solution is to focus on more education. People need to learn to install a wallet and keep their coins safe. There is no shortcut here.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a future for.cryptocurrency with ETF? on: January 20, 2019, 01:55:39 PM
ETF and regulations have nothing to do with preventing hacks. Regulations may or may not help prevent scam, but people will always be attempting that sort of activity. You can also find a lot of scam and hacks in the traditional domain of fiat money. Hacks and scam is nothing special to crypto currencies. Regulations may help improve the condition somewhat, but the real future for crypto will come with more and more adoption and maturing of the technology. It takes time for that to happen, but it will eventually.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lisk (LSK) Price prediction? on: January 20, 2019, 01:27:30 PM
Lisk was one of the coins I was considering investing in last year. Luckily I didn't because this bearish market pulled everything down. Now as  these bearish conditions are prolonged it is not easy to give a good advice. Usually the saying goes one should buy the rumors and sell the news but I don't know how much this saying applies for Lisk regarding the Utrecht meetup. As usual you should decide and do your investments without listening to other peoples opinions. By doing that if you are wrong there is no one to blame but yourself. If you are right you have no one to praise but yourself.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unit-e, the next bitcoin killer? maybe not… on: January 19, 2019, 07:53:19 PM
These university professors can try but they will most certainly fail. Reading about the features of this new supposed bitcoin killer, I don't think they have any chances to succeed to make anything decent. Smart contracts, high speed, sharding and what not, everything packed in a new crypto called Unit-e. Like many other alts before this one, they also will try to solve some future problems like scaling but fail to address the most important feature a good crypto must have, which is security and robustness.
219  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin balance vs fiat debt? on: January 19, 2019, 04:01:26 PM
Debt is one of the worst things people can find themselves in. I would try to stay out of debt regardless of the reason I am in debt in the first place. If I have to sell my bitcoin stash just to be debt free, I would do that. Once out of debt, I would try to start saving money, and my savings would be in bitcoin. I think this is more sensible than going into debt just to hold bitcoin no matter how much you love holding it.
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction: Fiat-->blockchain-->fiat on: January 19, 2019, 03:14:24 PM
There are none projects like that if I understand what you are trying to say. You want to use fiat money to buy some cryptocurrency on the blockchain directly from the coin holders. And then to sell your coins for fiat money also directly to some other people. I can't imagine what it would take to make such a blockchain. There would have to be a bank or exchange involved in the entire picture for this to work.
