581  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I don't have Tether (USDT) wallet. Can I still use and trade it? on: April 27, 2018, 11:02:39 AM
Another fear keeps me from using desktop wallets is that I am skeptical that these apps may secretly spy on my activity and steal things on my pc. Maybe that's absurd, but who knows? Is electrum open source?
Yes it is an open source. The source code can be checked on Github, https://github.com/pooler/electrum-ltc You can find the windows version executable here: https://electrum-ltc.org/ Just make sure you download it from the correct URL
582  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I don't have Tether (USDT) wallet. Can I still use and trade it? on: April 27, 2018, 10:31:03 AM
I have little knowledge on desktop wallets but as far as I know if I have the private key of my wallet stored somewhere safe and if someday my hard disk blows up, I can still get my wallet  and full balance back with the private key, is that correct?
It is a little bit more complicated than that, but yes you are right. With electrum, rather than dealing directly with your private key, you have to memorise a seed. Your seed is a random sequence of words that correspond to your private key. And you can write them on a piece of paper and store them securely. In case your hard drive blows up, you can install a new installation of electrum wallet on a new disk and just import your memorised seed and all your balance is under your control again.

Also can I password protect the electrum software?
Not that you can, but you should. That brings another layer of protection to your wallet.
583  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: IF I wanted to buy 10 bitcoins on: April 27, 2018, 09:57:27 AM
Once the seller confirms receipt of the fiat, he will instruct the escrow to release the funds to you, at which point you should provide an address for him to send the bitcoin to.
Maybe I will go slightly off topic here, but I'm curious. What happens if you buyer sends fiat money to the seller, but the seller doesn't want to confirm that they got it? And even more now the seller wants their BTC back from the escrow. In what way is the buyer protected?
584  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I don't have Tether (USDT) wallet. Can I still use and trade it? on: April 27, 2018, 09:47:02 AM
- Deposit your LTC on any of the exchange address
While you probably don't need a Theter wallet, you certainly need a good LTC wallet. If you haven't figured that part out, I recommend using electrum for LTC. Keep most of your LTC locally in your electrum wallet.
585  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I don't have Tether (USDT) wallet. Can I still use and trade it? on: April 27, 2018, 09:01:00 AM
If you really need a tether wallet, you can use tether.to The registration is only currently suspended. However, tether is probably not a currency one should trust too much because it is completely controlled by one company. I personally think it is more or less the same as if you would keep your coins on an exchange. In both situations you are trusting a company.
586  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the best exchanges to trade. on: April 27, 2018, 08:44:30 AM
If you are looking for decentralized exchanges, you don't have much of a choice. The only two working are IDEX and Forkdelta and both are tragic. For example, IDEX is down from hours and you can't make a normal trade there. It's not the first time for them and I guess is not the last.
Crypto-bridge is a decentralized exchange I have only good experience with. It works great, and I can recommend it to a newbie. Here is the link:

Yep we are using real time data from Bitfinex. Orders are executing comparing to amount of trades on Bitfinex. So it can be filled partially if it is limit order. Or maybe it will not be filled at all. If there are no volumes  on Bitfinex. So it will be really very similar to real trading.
But what's the real advantage of your platform? I mean people can go directly to Bitfinex and learn how to trade with really small amounts of money. Without risking too much, they can learn the mechanics of trading. Do you offer some classes tutoring lectures strategies in addition to what people can experience at an exchange?
588  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to know the short term trend to trade on? on: April 27, 2018, 08:30:03 AM
You said it yourself. It is a sort of gamble. At least in my experience. I know there are experienced traders that make a lot of money. They claim to use indicators, but no indicator can protect you from some sudden changes. So, I don't think they make money consistently too.
589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum. Will we see stronger Bulls in May? on: April 27, 2018, 07:06:14 AM
When Ethereum was first introduced it was never meant to have any speculative value. It was meant to serve as a currency for using the underlying network on which other platforms can be run. As I see it now its future value will be greatly determined by the success or failure of the other tokens that use the infrastructure of Ethereum.

591  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How ethical is it? on: April 26, 2018, 06:36:24 PM
If you use an exchange it is an open market. Everybody has the right to buy and sell. Everybody has to do their due diligence and estimate the value of the coin they are buying. If you trade with a friend it is definitely unethical.
592  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Coinmarketcap - Manipulation? on: April 26, 2018, 06:28:30 PM
With coins which are traded only on one exchange, typically Etherdelta, and with non existent volume, single individuals can manipulate the price by selling little sums for absurd prices.
This is what I see some times. If the coin is listed on several small exchanges with small daily volume, the price can be manipulated easily. You can pick just one of the exchanges for that. And coinmarketcap will include that into the price estimation. Very soon it will come back to the previous value.
593  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is a Masternode? on: April 26, 2018, 06:19:28 PM
Thank you, it was interesting to read. I like projects with masternodes, passive pribile without any problems. But my computer is not powerful enough, I have to raise the node on the remote.
I think people should be careful with masternode coins. Too many of them are problematic to say the least. See this thread that resonates with my thinking:

594  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Complete Newbie to Trading - Need some guidance on: April 25, 2018, 08:54:22 AM
to increase your BTC holding and you will be able to do that using divergence on MACD, RSI, Volume and DMI indicator.
How reliable these indicators are? If most of the good traders a using them, then it has to be the inexperienced traders that are screwed.
Then with that, you can hold for a while and sell into FOMO or set sell orders based on past resistances and support and go through with the cycle again when the alts are in deep correction. Nevertheless, learn all you can and find the one that can work best for you.
I think all of this works until there is a large sudden change. Then two things are possible: either you are in a large plus, or large minus.

596  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 👓 Trading routine 👓 on: April 25, 2018, 08:31:34 AM
Today almost all coins that I was HODLing came back into profit zone, so I managed to close old trades.

I do not risk something, which I can't afford to lose. Crypto markets can wipe all your account away very fast.
And when you decide not to HODL any more what do you do? Convert to BTC, or USD? What is your stable currency. What do you convert your profit into.
597  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Guide for selling/buying on: April 24, 2018, 06:42:34 AM
No there is no fixed percentage. Every trader has his own rules. Some traders are more aggressive. Some traders play safe/have small margin.  I think it depends on the trader's character. Some are willing to take risk some not.
598  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Revolutionary Platform! — Makes money while you sleeping! on: April 23, 2018, 05:50:52 PM
I Present to you The Revolutionary Platform, which can make you thousands of profitable trades in crypto-exchanges Automatically!
Makes money while you sleeping!
If this is really true, the creators would be making money as we speak. And keep the platform private.

P.S – If you have 1.4BTC you can earn 0.2BTC per month.
If you mean you invest 1.4 BTC and end up with just 0.2 BTC, then I believe it.
599  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone else uses Capitalise's Bot to trade @Binance ? on: April 23, 2018, 05:29:13 PM

600  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: private trades on: April 23, 2018, 05:21:29 PM
Are there any subforums or forums that facilitate user->user transfers?  For instance if you want to trade one currency for another directly with the individual and bypass exchanges.  Completely private.
You can always use

https://localbitcoins.com/

to find people that live close to your location. You can arrange with them to trade face to face.

If you want to trade online, I recommend using escrow. Check this thread (Recommended bitcointalk escrow services):
