I kind of like the 5 minute report. Not necessarily for the hash rate, but to see if I’ve found any blocks. If you went to an hour for solo, I’d have to scroll up the window every time I wanted to check on miner.

It looks like once you find 10-12 blocks in solo mining, the periodic hash rate starts to even out. It’s hard with Minotaur because blocks don’t come that often, unlike pool mining where shares are 3-4 per minute.

This might have been said before, but I don't feel like going through all 82 pages. Is there a way to find the temperature of the mining chips on the newpac? I am currently running them at 450 freq with no issue, but I want to check to make sure the temperatures are ok. Just touching them the are cool, but I am wondering if there is a more in-depth way.
You don’t have to read 82 pages. Just go to the top of the page for this thread and enter “temp” in the search box and follow the linked results. Appears there are a few different numbers you can go buy. I find the best way to measure temp is with an infrared temperature gun. They are under $100 USD, but luckily I got one through work for my job. My opinion is if the heat sink on your NewPac is cool to the touch, you have nothing to worry about.

Don’t know if this helps or not, but Ring is built on BTC core 18 which changed getblocktemplate. This is from core website.
Notable changes
Mining
Calls to getblocktemplate will fail if the segwit rule is not specified. Calling getblocktemplate without segwit specified is almost certainly a misconfiguration since doing so results in lower rewards for the miner. Failed calls will produce an error message describing how to enable the segwit rule.
I found this for Litecoin: You need to explictly declare the segwit rule:
litecoin-cli getblocktemplate '{"rules":["segwit"]}'

Hey JayDDee,
Does solo mining work in Minotaur release? I keep getting rpc errors from miner. I know rplant said solo is broken in his version, but he’s not going to fix it because he wants people using his pool.

Am I correct in assuming a NewPac running at 400Mhz pulls around 10 watts? Any chance that will burn up a USB3 port on my PC? Thanks...

Any idea when Mac OS wallet will be available?

In theory, how many 606’s could you run off a 1600 watt 110v circuit?

Hm interesting, i am using srbminer now in combination with rplant pool, when i look at the stats i see the most ppl with a ryzen are using a optminer version i can't find on the www? Its about this version: cpuminer-opt/4.5.5L-ryzen. When u use the rplant miner my hashrate (in miner and on pool stats) decrease a lot, so i dont think this is the 4.5.5L-Ryzen Where can i get this? And have people already tested the Hive Mining part? How many rings do u guys use before starting with Hive Mining? The rplant miner link is on the rplant pool homepage. The miner contains several different versions depending on what cpu you have and the instruction set it uses. I.E. the Ryzen miner works best with Ryzen CPUs. The L simply means Linux version.

Doesn't seem to work... How is the exact syntax? Be careful with these links. Appears this user has posted viruses in the past. Never install an untested miner on a machine with personal or wallet information on it.

Its a scam . dont waste your time. Block chain is very big right after launch. Some features in the wallet didnt work. The block reward is set to 0.1 which is clearly made to artifically make it hard to mine. Meanwhile you can claim free rings from other coins , especially other coin of the same group who made LCC... So somenoe is trying to get rich quick here...
While you are entitled to your opinion, you should do some research before you start spreading FUD. 1. The blockchain is large at launch because it contains all the snapshot data for the 4 different claim coins. In fact, the first 34,000 blocks or so contain all the payout addresses. 2. Yes, there were some transaction issues with wallet at launch, but the dev team released updated wallet within 12 hours to correct. While a group of a dozen or so people ran testnet wallet for a month, there’s no way they could create the stress of having thousands of people run it simultaneously. 3. The block reward has absolutely nothing to do with mining difficulty. It’s hard to PoW mine because so many people are mining it. Nethash shot to 1ghs within hours of launch and as high as 5.6ghs, which for a cpu only coin is ridiculous. You can still hive mine and play the game to earn Ring. 4. Ring is from the same team that created LCC, which just had its 2 year anniversary. So if you think they are going to put their reputation on the line for a “get rich quick” scheme, then yes, you should probably focus your efforts elsewhere.

Are there any rules or strategies for the game? I don't understand at all.
Connect as many rooms together as you can to light the candles. Each candle is 10 points. Beat the target score and you win. Hint: tiles also rotate...

There have been 2 exchanges announced, but they aren’t trading yet. Give it a few days since mainnet just started.

Hi, is it even possible to obtain private keys from hardware wallet? wallet? Will the Ring wallet support importing from using the recovery phrase to get the seed?
I don’t think you can get private keys from a hardware wallet, but you may want to check with the manufacturer. You need the private key to use in Ring wallet. It does not support recovery phrases.

The snapshot occurred on 2/18, so you don’t need to deposit anything to claim. If you owned any of the 4 coins above on 2/18, you can claim in Ring wallet using your private keys from those coins.

Is there any ETA about the wallet official public release? I'm pretty interested in this coin's concept No ETA has been set. While a lot of people are anxiously waiting for the wallet, I think it’s better not to give an ETA. If the team set an ETA, then a problem crept up and ETA wasn’t met, the coin would get slammed as a sham. I can tell you the pre-release wallet is being THOROUGHLY tested before being posted. One of the holdups is with Hive mining. Every time a new version of the test wallet comes out, we have to wait for dwarves to mature and make sure the Hive difficulty is scaling correctly. Ideally, the wallet would have been released within a day or two of snapshot, but that didn’t happen. Please be patient. For up to date information, please join Discord server. Invite link is in post #1.

I'm on their telegram channel and this is probably one of the busiest telegram I'm in now, I'm also waiting for the release of their wallet and the miners so I'll know if my machine is compatible to mine this coin, which is going to be a promising coin in the market, I hope the hype and the wait are all worth it for those believers like me.
I hope my machine is also compatible later. It should be a promising coin, since people so crazy to talk about this and can't wait anymore to see the wallet release. 1 btc = 1 rng, happy for rich people that become more rich than before. Just about any machine should be able to run it. Anything from Core 2 Duo to 4xCPU servers have been tested. Linux, Windows, and Mac OS. Even been running on Raspberry Pi 4. I hope to have updated CPU hashrates posted in cpu-mining channel in the next hour.
