1  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LinuxCoin A lightweight Debian based OS with everything ready to go. on: June 28, 2011, 09:00:39 AM
Hey Guys, Quick question.

Is it possible to make a 32bit version? I have an idea on how to do it myself but learning is a time consuming thing that I haven't had time to do lately due to time constraints over the next month. Here's my problem, I need to move my mining boxes to the back of the house away from the network switches to put them in a cooler spot. But I can't run network wires due to where they will be located, I attempted to buy the cheapest wireless usb adapters I can buy (mistake!) ... turns out they need 32bit linux in order to work. Will it be worth it to make a 32bit version or pay a little bit more money for a wireless adapter that works out of the box? If so, Can anyone spare a link to a usb (preferred) adapter that's under $30/each that will work with 64bit linuxcoin with minimal changes (adding packages w/ persistence without having to compile drivers manually that work)?

Thanks!

P.S. Feature request ... Wireless support out of the box would be nice.

First, Thank you for a very well put together distro for mining! This saved me loads of time, and it was very helpful.

I now want to address the problem of the "FATAL kernel error: Failed to load OpenCL kernel!" message, I confirmed this as I was testing. Even if I accept the agreement and it says it registered it does NOT register. I have to manually register the agreement every time and its very annoying, I hope it can be fixed next update.

Other then that, I would like to suggest that you ask if you want to save the settings when starting a miner from your start_mining script.... with possible of a few setting slots (menu maybe?) ... being able to make the start scripts and access them easily would make it so easy to deploy miners, and easily editable for more advanced users.

This was addressed, but I wanted to reiterate ... Please disable the screen saver; Right now I am forced to use a USB stick as I want to install these on a hard drive, please make a guide.

Thanks again.

I'm having the exact same problem, It freezes even when a flash video comes up ... its very annoying! I just got two new cards and I'm using 11.5 and it freezes. I really hope they fix it soon.

P.S. I can't make a new topic/reply to the AMD forums ... so I hope people keep reporting the issue. =/
