It was a laborious work.Congratulations.
This is a really creative work of art.  Should be on a billboard for millions to see.  Great job 1Dq, you have a special talent.  Cool Cool

The Dolphin

Thank you!

Im tellin you! Hit up Kialara and get this into a Signature Series bar. This would be an insane collaboration.
Wow would love that image on a cold key Cheesy

Not a bad 💡

Yogg take note Wink

I'm up for all kinds of ideas and I'm sure many of these suggestions will eventually come to fruition (as some already have, like Yogg's history coldkeys)

I made a thread where I expose and explain different details of my artwork 10 Years of Constructing the Future.

It's located in Collectibles, where I usually post most of my pieces:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5205089.0

Feel free to comment and suggest ideas as there is still room for improvement and because it's digital I could eventually make alterations for custom prints! We might figure something out together.

Cheers!

As I mentioned, I wanted to expose Collectibles the most as it's been my hangout place for a year. The two robots have initials of two big Collectibles personas and there are several collectibles exposed as well.

Let me guess  Y and K....Yogg and KrogothManhattan?  Wink

Of course!  Cool

Hello guys!

Since this latest artwork grew also with the help of this section of Bitcointalk, I felt the need to present it in detail right here!

Let's start with the complete artwork titled 10 Years of Constructing the Future:

I did it because this month we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of this forum and there was a big contest organized that went along with the festivities.

The man that organized the contest is the legendary member theymos (check out the "T" on the shoulder):

I was choosing between several fun options of what part of the forum would be displayed on his tablet and went with Satoshi's "Welcome to new Bitcoin forum" thread.

You can't miss the big BTC symbol on the side of the construction, that I wanted to make a bit different, more technological/futuristic than we are used to:

As I mentioned, I wanted to expose Collectibles the most as it's been my hangout place for a year. The two robots have initials of two big Collectibles personas and there are several collectibles exposed as well.

But I also exposed other parts and important activities on this forum like Project development:

Mining:

Trading:

and News:

And we all know it's all about the merit, right?  Grin

...and sometimes some shady/scam/shitcoin business...

Still, there's good taste with, off course, The Pizza:

And your random Doge:

I'm 1Dq and it's been a pleasure:

If you are interested, you can vote until December 3rd for artists that will receive very special badges here:

Thank you all very much and as always
Cheers!

I want to thank everyone participating in making this contest such an awesome hit - all the other participants, the spectators, the merit-givers, everybody doing scientific research in the end and of course theymos for starting it all. Sorry if I left you out  Cheesy

As a crypto artist I need to say that giving art this much exposure is just plain great and important for healthy development of our community. I also hope there will be many similar occasions in the future.

I'm not sure this is the best place to write all this, but I didn't want to spam with a new thread...

Cheers everybody!

I'm proud of my post/merit ratio!

67  Other / Meta / Re: Stats of artists who received at least 1 merit from the 10th art contest on: November 23, 2019, 02:34:24 PM
My first contribution (Cryptoglyphs) wasn't meant as part of the contest, that's why I didn't post my BTC address in that post.

It was a post about a piece that I created a year ago, that was connected to the forum, and I wanted to share it for the fun of it.

Happy 10th anniversary everybody!

Cheers!
69  Economy / Collectibles / Re: My latest artwork made for the 10th Anniversary art contest on: November 22, 2019, 07:10:32 AM
That's fucking awesome dude. I just watched an old movie, called American Pop from like 1980 - This is EXACTLY what your background images reminded me of, which is fucking awesome, because I love that movie, and the art/comics etc. Grin

I can see the connection, though I never saw the movie. I also love some of the aesthetics of that era, it must show in this illustration!

Thinking of how I'd want to hang this on my wall or have as a collectible.. my favorite choice would be as a Signature Series Kialara. Wonder how well it would scale down though.

Hard to say, maybe not the entire thing but portions of it. It'd definitely worth playing around with a bit.

There's even shitcoin scavengers! Love it.
Please post the gif in your OP. Really neat to see the progress.

OP?
In your original post here. Some people might not click onto the art contest thread to see it! It is amazing to see the process.

I was hoping that would make them click it and see it there. This discussion might help as well, so thanks.
I'll probably post the gif and some extra material here as soon as the contest is over.  Wink

Hello everyone!

It's been almost a month now since I started work on this illustration and have put over 100 hours into it.

I won't describe it from the get-go - I'll leave it to you to figure it out and where all the details are and what they mean.

In case you wish to reward me with merit, please follow the link (second post from top) and do it there! It'll help me out a lot!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5193860.1420

There, you'll also find a gif animation showing the entire work in progress.

Have fun and see you in the discussion!

I'm back with my contribution to the art contest titled:

10 Years of Constructing the Future

I wanted to capture how amazingly plural, creative and full of life this place is, while it's doing very important work for our future. Bitcoin got set tall and high up, both as symbol of progress and for motivation and I also went a step ahead of the usual BTC shape. I pondered a lot on what the monumental construction is all about and eventually settled on a spaceship in construction, that's meant for interstellar travel (yup, not just to the moon).

Users of this board are various types of robots doing different things in their fields of expertise and interest.

There are many details scattered around, related to the Bitcoin universe and this board in particular (the T on the shoulder pad of the front right robot stands for the patron of this contest - thanks again!).

This was a lot of fun for me, I hope you like it and PM me for printable large JPEGs

BTC Address: 1Dqt8AsKaRdaWNqruPmUkqseqLm9YXZaP

I also made a gif using most progress shots I made. You can see how some things changed shape, especially the huge structure which went from giant spaceship, to robot to tower to somewhere in between and is now open to interpretation.

First off, thank you theymos for doing this supporting artists is a rare and positive gesture and lots of influential people never get around to it.

I've been producing Crypto art for almost two years and am currently working on a piece of digital art specifically for this art contest. But before that, let me present a piece I made last year, that already has Bitcointalk rooted at its core!

Cryptoglyphs, 2018, Acrylics on Canvas, 145x190cm (57˝x75˝)

I want to keep this post short so I'll give it a TLDR summary of its content, followed by the link to its official Bitcointalk thread, where it is presented in detail.

Cryptoglyphs took me around 6 weeks to finish. It visualizes the internal structure of Bitcoin/Blockchain with miners, adresses, the merkle tree, hashing and block structure - it's all there! But most importantly the Bitcoin origins in four Egyptian gods - patrons of miners, law, writing, mathematics and wisdom representing Satoshi Nakamoto and early supporters and developers of Bitcoin. They made all this possible and Bitcointalk is the place this was orchestrated!

Here's the entire thing explained in detail: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5065782.0

I'll be back with my next piece as soon as it's finished.

Thanks for all the motivation guys, I'm thinking of starting working on it by the end of this week!

Until then, I'll check this thread for additional comments and ideas!

Cheers!
79  Economy / Collectibles / 10TH ANNIVERSARY ART CONTEST + Collectibles Artwork Project by 1Dq on: October 21, 2019, 01:25:30 PM
Hello everyone!

I want to discuss the option of merging our Collectibles artwork project with the 10th Anniversary Art Contest.

Because of various reasons I already posted, our communal project got frozen for a bit.

Two days ago however, I got several messages urging me to check it this contest out. After reading its main thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5193860.0) I made this a priority again.

What I want to ask those who have so far participated is, if you are ok with an idea I've got.
I want to participate with a single digital artwork, based on the sketch I made and shared before:

There was a lot of work put into it and this would be a great way to get me work on it and push it to its completion. I would finish it a bit differently and on my own accord, as it would need to serve a broader Bitcoin talk community.

However, there would be several  benefits for all of you too.

First off, this would be done in the following month.

Secondly, I would add a link to the Collectibles artwork thread and name all of you who have participated with ideas in the description of my entry.

And lastly, the digital piece I would work on might be altered later for better inclusion of detail collectibles! So that way, with a small twist we would have our project in the final phase.

Let me know what yout think. I want to start working on this asap, so I need to see if I have a green light from you.

Later.
