Now there is no staking, just  POW mining. For you to be in only one pool use the  pool long link and don't choose the pool from the drop-down table in consensus (webdollar.io). (check Telegram for full list of long links of pools)
When POS will be added, as it will be hybrid, you will have to stake your WEBDs in order to participate in the process. But in the same time for the POW blocks you will also be able to mine like you do now with CPUs.
The percentage of POS blocks was discussed to be 20 followed by 10 POW blocks, and so on.

Any infos on when the PoS will be implemented? More, will it be possible to leave the wallet open for PoS while avoiding to produce PoW?

Be being an open source project and community based, we no longer want to give deadlines for certain features. There are no deadlines in big projects like Bitcoin, Ethereum etc... Moreover, we didn't have any ICO. Indeed the Proof of Stake test net branch allows you to mine POS and POW separately. You can exclude one mining or another one. POS will work from browser directly.

"Anuntam in
social-media" spun membrii echipei. Care din ele? FB / Twitter / Telegram / Forum / ...? Bai baieti, stabiliti
odata un canal unic de comunicatie! Pentru ca informatiile reale de care avem nevoie practic le aflam unii de
la altii noi, minerii. Apropo de forumul webdollar.io, are bug-uri mari. Si echipa nici nu prea raspunde la
postari.

Sunt doar cateva din problemele care umbresc reusita webd...

We are one of a couple international projects which developed an entire blockchain technology from scratch. The entire source code was developed from scratch. Moreover, we developed everything with 0 funding. As Satoshi, we are holding our coins not selling them for the next XX years. PoW vs PoS. PoW is spending a lot of electricity to reward a random miner with the coins giving him the chance to mine the next block. That's all what PoW does. Nothing else. We didn't choose Proof of Work for security, but for marketing reasons. We aimed that if we do a CPU based mining coin, more and more miners will be interested to promote the project, but it looks like only a handful of people actually promoted the project for many reasons like trying to mine much for themselves and specifically not sharing with others because the competition would grow and not promoting it and many more like this.  I don't think Satoshi Nakamoto or Hal Finney (real Satoshi Nakamoto) did marketing, did talk etc. but rather the community. Even more, Bitcoin had many screw ups including an exploit that generated on main blockchain 91 billion coins read here https://www.coindesk.com/9-biggest-screwups-bitcoin-history/

TakeItEasy, WebRTC is to allow peer to peer connections directly in the browser, to enable a trustless coin, otherwise we wouldn't discuss on bitcointalk if we don't want trustless coins.

The blockchain is not recording any of that information, you are referring. In the blockchain, nobody records the IP, geoip location (which is not even precise it has an error of about 400 km), username, etc resolution. If you want to mine anonymously (because this is what you were referring, you can use a VPN). One of our devs, was also working on an anonymous VPN miner you can access at https://WebDollarVPN.io Moreover, if you mine in a mining pool, you are pretty much anonymous to the entire network.

The task is really difficult for web developers, because at the moment Web applications can not communicate with an Internet protocol that is not native to the browser or the HTTP layer.

Exactly, mostly because all other blockchain use sockets and their own TCP/IP protocol, while WebDollar is using HTTP/HTTPS as an internet protocol to communicate with browsers.  Moreover, WebDollar also has integrated WebRTC to allow the communication between two browsers directly.

I really like your website webdollar.io, but he's just working very slow, perhaps a problem with the hosting. It`s worth paying attention to it!

Thanks!  The website webdollar.io is fully consensus to in order to become consensus you download a lot of data and your CPU is using a lot of power to validate the proofs in order to become trust-less   Cool

Terminals are the safest way, but don't forget to encrypt your wallet! Also, Browser wallets are safe because they are stored on your computer, but don't forget to encrypt the wallet with a strong password that is stored in your brain. I personally didn't encrypt my wallet and somebody took it from my computer....  Roll Eyes

I am not so sure if you know, but our dev community has a trello where we follow our dev progress. You can check it out

Interesting! What consensus are you using? Any ICO? Any CPU or minimum computer requirements?

The Blockchain was developed from scratch on our GitHub https://github.com/WebDollar/Node-WebDollar We have over 14 contribuitors. The conesnsus is 40 seconds, proof of work.

We didn't held any ICO or any pre-sale.

A modest computer, and for running a full node over 1.5 gb ram. We will fix this as we load the entire blockchain in RAM for the moment.

I know. Pools are in beta more than month.

Still no exchange or pool

We have experimental mining pools on the main network. https://webdollar.ddns.net:9094/pool/0/WebDollar%20Experimental%20Pool/0.02/WEBD$gDU+tP3@42@L9$Is463vDJi4IKrabPNNn$$/93ba881950314cca579d4f8699a6bc67695ec7292bceadb6f6709b70beba774a/https:$$webdollar.ddns.net/https:$$webdollar.ddns.net:80

We're working to finish pools this week for the official pools with referral release and bounty program and this month the first exchange should be here too.

And as you can see, one of your team member told that "finish pools this week for the official pools". And it was July 2. But today is July 22.

Probably it was me who said that we will finish the pools. Unfortunately, we can't predict the future. All the time, we try our BEST pushing ourselves to the limit, but always there are a few things to do before finishing them. Either we get troubles with the automatic payments from the pool or from the "person" who is flooding the network.

Regarding the status of the Pools. It looks we were able to finish the automatic payments. We are still improving it everyday.

@alexandru.b @AlexandruPanait

I really would like you to see to start your project as a serious business. As you want to become the money of the internet, there are other projects like DNotes that are on the way to do fully compliant Reg D 506 (c) crowdfunding followed by a Reg A+ Mini-IPO to legalize their entrepreneurship. But as you stated, 'WebDollar i[t']s an open source community-based technology project. There is no "company" or "devs"', I guess you see yourselves as miners of WB, even though in control of the code and the communication. So it seems that there will never be legal structures behind this "money of the internet", which let me doubt that this is more than a phrase.

Following your forum and project it is an outstanding example for how young people think/thought to raise money in the (ongoing?!) wild west of crypto. After just a few months of existing, you show mastery in using obvious marketing strategies and communications. If you are able to get WB listed on one exchange, I am sure that you and your followers will start to pump WB price - and as there was nothing before, you will get some BTC and so worthy US-Dollars.

Reading your posts I would like to correct one of your statements. ETC was not hacked (https://www.reddit.com/r/EthereumClassic/comments/8s5uh8/im_thinking_about_getting_into_etc_but/). Furthermore I do not understand why you complain about hackers and competitors. Be sure, there are hackers worldwide which will attack the WB blockchain and their users, especially if it becomes worth some money. Trying to suggest that these attacks were coordinated from one specific foundation or country is a smear campaign like you calling it FUD yourselves. If you like to compete only to BTC and ETH, wouldn't it be possible that a BTC group fears the WB or an ETH group fears your smart ideas? Or as you mention skypool, which is a pool in the hands of the Chinese: Could they have an interest in the attacks?

I would be glad and thankful, if you use your resources and document your experiences with hacks, ddos attacks etc and sharing them with the blockchain community. There are so many promising projects out there which could need your help.

Finally, if you want to build trust, do not mention that your project do not have any money. Make a business plan and convince investors. Not those on bitcointalk or reddit but the investors with real big money. And if this is an impossible endeavor, then ... I do not know.. possibly this whole project idea is not as good as you are saying.

Thanks for the information. A smart contract from the Ethereum which is known as Ethereum Classic, as the new fork was renamed to Ethereum solves the smart contract issue in which millions of ETH were stolen. WebDollar blockchain was safe and secured. The fault was human mistake that I didn't encrypt the wallet.

Regarding the other claims, Bitcoin is in the control of the GitHub developers and they can do any forks they want as long as the miners accept.  Bitcoin is not in the control of Satoshi Nakamoto because Hal Finney died.

Deerhunter you are spreading FUD. Your account is 7 days old and your posts are only related to this!. I have caught you with lie as you are spreading FUD only against US You are a troller probably from nimiq. That's all. I have explained everything that the wallets were not encrypted with any password and stored on my personal computer and somebody exploited a vulnerability in my linux machines or the local network. There were no problem with the code and you can check the github repository. There were no issues with the code and nobody can steal money from an account with 51% attacks. They can only invalidate transactions usually to attack exchanges.   Somebody had got remote control of my computer and had stolen the wallet from my personal computer. Regarding Linux - have a lot of exploits. Checking this database https://www.exploit-db.com/platform/?p=linux different distribution of Linuxes had over 2777 exploits which were publicly published. The wallets were recovered entirely and it didn't affect the network in any way. and SUBJECT CLOSED.

Only FUD. I don't imagine who would lie and FUD against us. Every day we receive DDoS, attacks and moreover... now we got FUD. Probably all these comes from our competition.

Regarding our progress. We are moving along on releasing the Mining Pools which have been in public tests for more than 1 month. Regarding our activity, you can check out the GitHub evolution which will tell the truth. I don't use bitcoin talk because it is using an old forum platform and we use telegram more as it is easier for us to communicate. I even use QQ from time to time.

GitHub

My personal GitHub

As you can see, the devs and the community is working hard, even harder than before Definitely, we had been doing a lot of progress protecting the network from over 6 different attacks which all of them failed. Regarding the wallet that was stolen, everyday exchanges get hacked etc because of human fault. My computer got hacked via an exploit and somebody stole one of the 40 wallets which were in plain text as I thought nobody could hack a Linux based computer with no other software installed except WebStorm and GitHub. But I was wrong. But we wrote a script that had recovered the entire sum back to the team "canceling" transfers from more than 400 different addresses and transfers. If Ethereum lost 3.6 million Ethereum and they had to create a new fork called Ethereum (the classic is the hacked one), we were able to write a script that undue all those transactions unaffecting the rest of the network.

BTW: Don't forget Bitcoin had over 23 different exploits some minor, some more... over the time. https://www.cvedetails.com/vulnerability-list/vendor_id-12094/Bitcoin.html  Cool
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WEBD] 🌍 WebDollar - Currency of the Internet | Mining directly in browser on: July 13, 2018, 01:27:55 PM
A few days ago we encountered 2 types of attacks.

1. One out of 40 Genesis wallets was stolen - via a malware we believe now.
2. Botnet attack for increasing to ~ 1 GB/s the Global Difficulty blocking network for 2 hours. This had been done by somebody with a powerful Computation Power. After 60 hours of straight coding, we were able to finally solve all the attacks damages. We did an update on experimental pools and now in the main network too. The update contains two updates 1. Hard fork to "cancel" the effect of ALL transactions sent by the attacker using the Stolen Wallet. 2. Network optimizations for preventing other 50%+1 to change the Network Global Hashrate (difficulty). Right before doing the update, someone which was in our intranet did cut our internet connection and then after we connected directly to the internet our computers was attacked with DDoS.

The blockchain was secured and resisted all the above attacks. Everything works perfectly fine now and the script that "cancel" the effect of the transactions was in place during this fork. I want to add the fact that the transactions are still on the Blockchain because even we can not alter the Blockchain, but the new set of rules "cancel" the effect of those transactions and recover the entire sum.

He used over 300 addresses in order to wash the money
So the attack was very professional, exactly like on Ethereum with the DAO
But in our case, the attacker definitely underestimated our devs so we were able to create an automatic script which tracked all the transactions down in and out automatically directly on the blockchain when the hard fork happened.

By this way we were able to recover all the funds

In order to wash the money, exactly like the Theft happened at Ethereum Classic (before it was called ETH) he used also the addresses of real miners who got over the night a lot of webd. The WebDollar team was able to recover the entire sum from the attacker

The first address you mentioned was one of the addresses of one of our main devs, the 2nd address is probably a miner. The devs were not paid for the last 9 months, as it was described in the topic the Phase 1 was paid to the developers and the GitHub contributors.

Regarding the Hash Rate. Yes, we had an increase of over 100% of browser miners. Most of the new miners are from China and from Germany as well. About two weeks ago the global hashrate was about 3.5 mh/s, now the global hash rate is about 16mh/s. Some miners mine with over 1500 different computers or over 100 powerful servers. Thus, these miners get rewards more often.

To make you a simple calculation, today on the Test Net Telegram group a Romanian user posted how he got about 500kh/s and he told us he rented 52 AWS servers with  c4 4x and he pays an average of 0,45 USD per server per hour.  That means for 500kh/s, our miner needs to pay about 16,848 USD per month for 500 kh/s. These miners are legit and they spend a lot of money for their servers and their computation to get this computation power, and still he mines only 100 blocks per day. because the global hash rate is 16 mh/s and he got only 500kh/s. Probably in China is a little bit more profitable, but still the costs are high for these mining farms that mine WebDollar  Smiley

We developed the entire blockchain from scratch with no money because we are a community-based project. We didn't fork or used any source code from GitHub. Software development is not like magic, you invoke a spell and boom you have your new blockchain technology. We develop the entire blockchain and it takes time to develop. We aim for pools that available in browsers for anyone to create their own pools. It takes time to develop all the features, and some code are not written as fast as they were anticipated. Three days ago, I had been 3 days at the European Parliament where I had presented WebDollar to the European Parliament and other European agencies. WebDollar is a community project, you if you want to make the pools faster available just push code, otherwise you are just fudding us. Please mind your words before posting anything.

The developers didn't mine WebDollars as we focus on finishing the last few things on the tech.

Second of all. We didn't raise any ICO money. We didn't do any presales, and we refused hundreds of presales to different international companies. Recently, we are in contact with Google and we will see what will happen next. Cheers

personally your opinion ... first, I have a limited Internet connection through a modem, on the Web-based Internet account the expense is very large ..
the second, every 10-15 minutes the slider with the number of cores goes to zero, I need to constantly monitor (located on this tab), the third one, constantly reload the page, I catch the block, I go to look at it in the explorer as a result I'm in the fork, I had enough for 2 hours for such a prey (2 blocks came out and they turned out to be false)
you have big defects on the site, where there is no possibility of stable production, while the number of coins produced is growing rapidly, so I have only one way-is it to buy coins on the exchange? but I am tormented by vague doubts that 90% are in the hands of the developers (because once you can work stably extraction)

They just change "pre-mine" to "9.9% (4.1568 Billion) reserved for WebDollar Genesis."
Genesis ?
It is "pre-mine". That's why you don't make ICO.

Total supply: 42,000,000,000 (42 Billion) WEBD
mining over a 100 year time span

It means that you took 10 years of mining to yourself. You have balance of 10 year of mining!
I'm out.
It's just another scam.

Bitcoin was mined/pre-mined by Satoshi. Many researchers believe that Satoshi mined between 1 million to 1.6 million Bitcoins that makes up to 8.4% in today's bitcoin circulation . According to your judgment, Bitcoin it is a scam too, isn't it? Then why you discuss on this forum?

https://eklitzke.org/how-many-bitcoins-did-satoshi-nakamoto-mine

More than half of the WebDollar Genesis will be given away to the WebDollar community to the most important contributors. We already have people who started partnerships with companies and promoted WebDollar online or built WebDollar blockchain explorers.

The other half of the WebDollar Genesis is vested for the next 4 years to new tech developments like: "anonymity, smart contracts, scalability, etc"

Moreover, WebDollar is a public Blockchain, so you can verify every transaction.
