4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trading paused? on: July 05, 2011, 09:15:04 PM
this message was on the left side all day long.
i don't think it is paused as i am still able to buy and sell.
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: CRASH! on: July 05, 2011, 07:28:35 PM
i think i will tottally sell in a few hours. already lost 25%...

until you did not sell you lost nothing at all.
i'm using the chance to buy in again. which lowers my avarage btc price.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I the only newbie just buying bitcoins? on: June 13, 2011, 09:16:01 PM
Do you think the significant volume in Bitcoin Trading (e.g. at Mt. Gox) is just speculators or people really using it as a currency?

--E

imho most of the volume i held by speculators. some volume by people just want to own some coins. some others mining and not selling. some belivers. and of course some few that are buying or mining bitcoins to pay something with it different than euros or dollars.

Am I the only newbie right now JUST buying bitcoins and not jumping on the mining bandwagon?

i'm doing both, as i like the sound of fans in my room.  Cheesy
no, but if you want to build up serious volume it's probably too late to start mining, only.
as i've said i'm doing both but in a relationship of 1:100 (mining/buying-selling).

10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: facebook approach to increase btc value on: June 12, 2011, 01:31:24 PM
Being a FB marketer, I can tell you that setting up an event is not the way to do it.  Your best bet would be to setup a fanpage with a application tab with some interactive stuff for people to like the fanpage and invite friends to it.

that sounds like a valid argument. i'm not that familiar with FB. may i take your comment and post it to the event/user as a proposal?

13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ding Ding Ding! There we go 16$/bitcon. on: June 12, 2011, 11:30:02 AM
Anyone who bought at 10$ is sitting on a 60% gain in about 2-3 hours. Not too bad Cheesy

i did. but unf only small amount of $ was left in my mtgox and so the amount of btc is bought this morning was rather limited.  Sad
but at least we are back at 17.  Grin
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New policy working! 15 Dollars! on: June 12, 2011, 10:45:04 AM
Don't get overexcited, probably it's a bull trap.
Bitcoin is still hugely overpriced if you compare it with the amount of real goods you can buy with it.
Economy based solely on miners and speculators won't go anywhere far.

that's a really good point and i agree for most other goods or currencies. but i think with btcs it's a little different as its' popularity peak is by far not yet reached. so even more peaople will come and buy to equip themselves with some bitcoins. just for fun or with professional intention makes no big difference. an the fact that up to now there are not many real goods you buy with them is not that important, as most buyers currently are not buying for that purpose. the current main reasons for buying are more idealistic ones.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New policy working! 15 Dollars! on: June 12, 2011, 10:25:26 AM
At this rate we will hit 1000$/bitcoin by the end of the month! BUY BUBYBUBYBY

yeah,  Cheesy  Cheesy
100 would be a great start ... and as he says:

...as soon as we manage to reach the target, follow ups will follow aiming at higher goals.

it's all a matter of the right concept and proper propaganda to show the outside that we are having the same idealistic visions ...  Wink  Grin

19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: facebook approach to increase btc value on: June 12, 2011, 04:53:00 AM
I'm sceptical that it will work, but I'd love to see $100/BTC.

same for me ...  Wink - so i'll join.
let's assume 10k or 100k people join. imho that would be quite good propaganda, wouldn't it?
20  Other / Beginners & Help / facebook approach to increase btc value on: June 12, 2011, 04:38:21 AM
what do you think about this approach?

.
i think this is a good idea, as it could become a good signal to "outsiders", providing an idea of what might be possible.
