Even honest devs would be crazy to not stay anonymous. Every single new coin is accused of being a scam and one little thing goes wrong and the entire community calls for your head on a stake.
Well i remember this: PS1: Mishax1, "We", The Icebergcoin Team are experienced and succesful coin developers, designers and traders. We have a well thinked long time project, you can stay with us, mining or getting cheap coins or wait if you are not interested in the project right now, even you are free to ignore this coin, there are lot of cryptos and maybe some others fit better with you. Asking who we are is like asking who is Satoshi Nakamoto, does it
So how can things go wrong with a team om 15 experienced and succesful coin developers, designers and traders... It's crypto dude, something will always go wrong. The second there's a dump and the price drops 50% people will be posting your name, pic, address, and telephone # telling everyone "this scammer has our money!" It's not just stupid, it's dangerous for devs and their families to not remain anonymous.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] The Definitive List of Mac Altcoin Wallets

Thanks for all the great Mac Wallets! Anyone planning to build a Tor Coin wallet too? Seems to be very popular If anyone has any tips for compiling a Mac wallet that implements Tor please help me out. I know I need libevent2, which I have installed but it's still not working. I'm guessing I need to edit the makefile to point to the dependencies but I haven't been able to figure it out.

I finally got Abe working 98% with Techcoin so we now have a mostly working BLOCK EXPLORER here for now: http://techblocks.chainworks.info:8324/ I need to find some hosting for it, has to be some kind of VPS, not just a webhost since you gotta compile & run the wallet. As far as changing the wallet to fix things, I think if the PoW is restarted until block 6000 (when PoS was originally supposed to start) with 0 reward (+ transaction fees) and we cut back on the block count for maturity and stake some more, by block 6000 the PoS should have had some time to get going and PoW can really end. I've only got a couple hours a night to dedicate to this stuff, that's why progress is so frustratingly slow. I am working on things to prepare this, but I am basically learning all the development process as I go, so things are not progressing quickly. I haven't yet got linux GUI or windows wallet compiled, that's my next thing to learn unless someone can volunteer to do that... that's where I'm at. I can compile Windows and Mac wallets if you upload the edited source to github. I can also help you with compiling your Linux GUI, I have a working Techcoin wallet in Ubuntu. Do you know how to setup a new DNS seed? Not completely necessary because we can publish nodes for conf files but would be nice.

The StealthCoin team would like to introduce to you The StealthCoin Great Stake Challenge!
Here are the rules:- The person at the end of each 24 hour period with the closest value to 1 new staking transaction per minute will be determined to be the winner. Yes, we're shooting for lots of PoS transactions!
- Contest will begin 7/14 4pm pdt and will run for 72 hours (starting block # will be added at this time)
- Each evening at 8pm pdt the winner from the previous day will be determined (3 winners total)
- Each winner will receive 5,000 XST!!
- To enter you must post the link to your address in this thread at the end of each of the 3 days AFTER 4pm pdt but BEFORE 4pm pdt the following day (ex. http://explorer.argakiig.us/address/S8knUucS6iFwAt1S8BmRpiTykqQfRLcape)
- Each user account and address may only win 1 day (max 5,000 XST)
- Please note that the spacing will be factored in. It is not enough just to make all of the transactions at the beginning of the 24 hour period. They must be well spaced, with a 1 minute target.
- Payout will be to the staking address.

We'll still need a block explorer to get Allcoin to update the wallet... My issue is currently that the wallet won't compile in linux for me... Tried fresh install of Ubuntu 10, 12, 14... no difference. I am able to compile a wallet, I successfully got HYP compiled and synced, so I know it's something to do with the way this co(i)n is configured... I get the same error with Firecoin, no real shock there. I'm sure it's an obvious solution that experienced devs would know, but so far all the solutions I've tried do not work. Help! sudo chmod 755 src/leveldb/build_detect_platform then make

Curious, so if the min stake age was set to an hour in the latest version of the wallet, the blockchain measures time in blocks, not actual time correct? So these coins I withdrew would need not be eligible for 60 blocks, not literally an hour? If thats the case, then yeah, we need a fork and community takeover because we won't ever get that far.
That's correct, we need to fork and reduce nTargetSpacing to increase the rate at which blocks are generated. Reducing the stake age won't help with moving the blockchain. What about stake difficulty? Isn't that the reason it's taking so long to get the next block, kind of like PoW after big hash power leaves? The target time is 60 seconds, do we really want to reduce it to get things moving, then increase it later to correct the block rate? If we lower the initial difficulty that should get block time closer to 60s target, right? I think if we are determined to keep the coin as PoS only there are a bunch of numbers needing to change, but let's gather some more opinions on what numbers to change... I am new at this, so any info you have about other coins n stuff would help. I am also open to (and in favour of) re-starting PoW, mostly as a way to generate blocks and get transactions moving, using a very low block reward so that it's still primarily a PoS coin. The POS difficulty is 0.00024414. It doesn't really get much lower than that. I've been looking over the code and comparing it to other coins and I'm starting to think that this is a problem that isn't going to be fixed by coding, but by fixing the network. The first thing we need to do is identify nodes that are updated and consistently online. The only one I've found so far is 24.85.126.229:57697. We should also contact Bittrex and make sure they have the updated wallet. We also need to get a block explorer up and running so we can take a look at what's happening on the blockchain.
