Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you choose which altcoin will you buy?

My major parameters before I invest into a project is looking at the
1. Team: The team really have a great role to play towards any project development. Sometimes the use case does not always work. Its the seriousness of the team that will make the project and its use case great.
2. Another thing I look out for in any project is the roadmap and white paper. Bear it in mind that these are just paper works. And that even a quack project can come up with a mouth watering roadmap and white paper. Checking at the roadmap and white paper, one just need to technically review these before deciding.
3. Other things I can look out for is Funds. Does the project really have fund to backup? Often times I see a lot of projects without any meaningful funds to back it up and I wonder how they intend to cope with the project development and all that.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY DOES BOUNTY PROJECTS TAKE TIME TO ENTER A MARKET
|
on: November 10, 2019, 04:31:23 PM

I Notice that most projects that conducted bounty finds it difficult to enter the crypto market especially a quality market. i think most are afraid of been dump. what are the possible reasons why tokens takes too much time before getting listed on exchange.
The major reason is Finance. For me, once a project is adequately funded, they don't need to FUD. Aside from token dumping upon listing, I have seen couple of projects do Buy-back. The buy back program is to help the token regain its value back after a dump.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CMC and coingecko

CMC and coingecko both very useful for us, i used to use both however i am confused why many coins and tokens not listing in CMC but listing in coingecko, not only coins and tokens but also many exchanges, is this because coingecko become more popular than CMC, or for something else.
Am as confused as you. Although both seem useful, but I always think CMC is the best because CMC often have up to date information about a particular coin or token or exchange.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges Tokens
|
on: November 06, 2019, 04:54:21 AM

I have seen many exchanges have launched their own token like Binance with BNB, Idex with IDEX, Hotbit with HTB, Yobit with YO etc. where exchanges use their own tokens as another way to pay fees to support token. In addition to it, different strategies are used to create a hype like decrease in supply etc. But if an exchange goes through a hard period of time and shuts downs then ultimately that token will come to its end because there is no community other than that exchange supporting the token simply because it has no usage outside the exchange. According to me exchanges should promote the usage of their coins/tokens outside the exchange to build a community in support of it. If your community consists of huge individual entities who believe you then a great community can be formed. Otherwise lack of applications would lead these things to disaster.
My thoughts exactly. You have said it all. Why will you create a token only to be used on your exchange? Since there are uncertainties on Crypto, its only necessary and needed for an exchange to list its token on another exchange for good utility of the token. I currently hold some of these exchange tokens. Most of which are shut down. Holders are only left without option than to hold till infinity. Waste of funds.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best time for promoting bounty projects
|

The best time to promote bounties are on altcoins season ,if you are tired of one delay after the other just quit till altcoins season returns ,this is the reason why 2017 was the best year for bounty hunters
Hmmm. How do we exactly know when is this altcoins season? So far, we can't be 100% certain when is the good time to promote bounties. Because even the projects you do not expect to do well end up doing well. I just conclude that promoting bounties is just grace. The one to pay you will definitely pay you huge.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Libra Coin bring Down Bitcoin's dominance
|
on: November 05, 2019, 04:41:31 AM

I would like to play devil's advocate From this article I read “Unlike the volatility seen around other cryptocurrency’s in the past, we believe that Libra’s focus on creating a stable, low inflation currency backed by a reserve or real assets is a differentiator. Further, unlike other stablecoins, Libra will not be pegged to one currency but instead a basket of assets ranging from bank deposits to short-term government securities.” https://www.cnbc.com/2019/06/18/the-difference-between-bitcoin-and-facebooks-libra.htmlWill Libra Coin bring Down Bitcoin's dominance in the market, your thought? This is just like asking if "a cat can put down a lion". Libra can not and never near Bitcoin's dominance, adoption and acceptance. Bitcoin remains the #1 cryptocurrency. So please let's stop the comparisons between Bitcoin and Libra. You may compare Libra with some sort of alts but not with bitcoin.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to earn free altcoin ??
|
on: November 05, 2019, 04:37:42 AM

I have been in the crypto world since a long time but i have not been able to make my portfolio and never earned anything...i dont have much cash that i can buy many different coins....i have only 0.01 btc right now Please tell me ways if there are any to earn some different types of altcoins to slowly build up my portfolio with some valuable coins... The ways you can mine altcoins isn't lucrative. The commonest ways of earning these alts are through Mining either the paid mining or free mining through faucets. Mining alts can be time, energy and electricity consuming. Another way if earning alts is through bounties or airdrops. A lot of these alts often organize bounty programs and airdrops as a way of promoting their projects. Hence, if you want to earn some alts, look for potential projects holding bounties and key in. Sometimes its really profitable.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you involved with Crypto?
|
on: November 04, 2019, 05:10:04 PM
|
Aside from monetary incentives in crypto, I rarely come across discussions pertaining to why the average enthusiast in crypto is involved with crypto. While the answer may be pretty straightforward, there are some outliers.
Crypto means much more than just monetary incentives, it's essentially a technical revolution that has involved the masses, something you and I can be apart of. Ultimately, that's probably one of my greatest interests for blockchain and crypto. Another big intrigue for me is the evolution of blockchain tech in itself. I've been around for quite sometime and have witnessed the evolution of cryptos, businesses, behaviors and attitudes.
These 2 factors, along with several others, are the reasons I continue to be involved on a community and business level with crypto. It's become a hobby, passion and business for me.
Why am involved in Crypto is the idea of decentralization. The need for a decentralized currency is very necessary where there won't be any regulations backing how you store your money, spend etc. All these I believe are few of the underlying facts behind the creation of Crypto currency. I believe in Crypto.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A view on hunters and crypto currency
|
on: November 04, 2019, 05:06:23 PM

After the failures of ico and the short progress of ico; it brings a sigh of fear into crypto currency.
Investors are smarter; and do not rush into tokens while bounty hunters are increased thus providing poor contents which leads to no reward
If we consider previously where projects raise 10m$ for just launching app unlike now where Most Projects this year struggle to raise even 100$; and it looks like ieo/ico will die soon.
What will be the future of crypto currency? Does it need regulation as stock and forex ? Or the sequence of struggle continues ?
Now there are news about a possible increase in bitcoin supply; is it healthy for the space ?
For hunters; soon; I doubt we will find worthy projects to promote
As this is my first post in altcoins; I hope I get a lot of suggestions to improve my knowledge likewise
Well, for Crypto currency as a whole, I think there is need for more strict regulations to ward against scammy projects. And for hunters, I think we don't just need to dabble into projects. As a hunter, its always good to review and analyze critically projects before you dive in.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will crypto really go to zero?
|
on: October 10, 2019, 09:18:50 AM
|
Back in the day, Vitalik once said that crypto will be going to zero. There has been many concerns about the longevity of cryptocurrency as a serious form of money, given that it's relatively unstable within the mainstream world. It's been 10 years since Bitcoin was created where crypto has had its ups and downs. However, many are afraid that crypto will be going to zero as the blockchain hype ends and governments start rolling their own digital currencies. When we take a look at most cryptocurrencies on the market, most of them aren't even useful at all. Perhaps, the only one is Bitcoin but it's terrible as a currency for daily transactions. Which is why, I'm starting to wonder if crypto will really go to zero in the future? If this happens, then most of us will lose our hard-earned money as crypto becomes worthless. What are your thoughts? Well, this will be determined on whether block chain as a whole would gain mass adoption and acceptance in the future or not. Judging on the present popularity of block chain, there will be a more adoption of it in the future. Don't forget that block chain beget crypto.
