1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Co-workers talking about bitcoin.... so much misinformation still today on: March 11, 2014, 10:37:41 PM
and the problem with this and many other stories is:

I didn't feel like correcting them or anything so I just kept quite.

too many people don't want to poke the bear and correct people or even ask the right questions to get to the truth. they prefer to just let it ride, just to not cause a debate or evoke emotions that someone is wrong.

THIS is what dumbs down humanity and makes people retarded. It's the bullshit, propaganda, and misinformation in the media. People hear one story about something and it turns into a FACT that they start spreading like wildfire. Combine this with the fact that people don't stop to correct others anymore for some stupid reason and it's a recipe for inevitable frustration. People are too scared of their possible response or simply don't care. It makes for one shitty society when everybody is a misinformed dumbass. I seriously think people are getting more stupid by the day in the U.S. The only exception being the 1% who milk the lemmings, and the rest of us left frustrated with clueless, ignorant, misinformed peers.

I always stop people to correct them and let them know they're spreading B.S./misinformation. Everyone should always correct people if they know they're speaking rubbish.

5  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-26] BTC-E Statement regarding MtGox possible insolvency on: February 25, 2014, 06:09:17 PM
For as much flak as they've taken for being so mysterious, BTC-E sure seems to be one of the most legit exchanges out there with the fewest problems. I used to have some FUD about them but that's decreased significantly the past two weeks.
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which exchange?! on: February 18, 2014, 05:34:20 PM
Now I think I'll consider Kraken, I forgot about that one. Have they ever had any issues with anything? I thought I heard a few months ago they had issues or something.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which exchange?! on: February 18, 2014, 05:28:08 PM
I've never traded there, but Stamp seems to be the most legit to me...They had a major issue and fixed it very quickly in comparison to any other exchanges, which shows their customer service is legit. If you want to go higher risk, go Gox and get cheaper BTC but there are rumors they are becoming solvent. BTC-E hasn't had a problem yet and that's where I trade. I personally haven't had any issues but I've read their customer support is TERRIBAD. I read a few threads this morning myself and started wondering if I should switch to Stamp, heh.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you heard about the Bitcoin "Kill Switch"? It's a doozy! on: February 15, 2014, 05:58:01 PM
The U.S. government sees what's happening all over the world with protests and revolutions in various countries. They know, they are scared of their own citizens, and they are obviously preemptively putting systems in place to cut off public communication to make such protests and revolutions nearly impossible to organize here. None of that is even possible without mass communication. I've known this for some time, but see the mad max 2020 post in this forum for more info. Some people are so dang oblivious.

The Arab Uprising of 2011 and Occupy Wall Street really woke up the U.S. government and they saw how serious and resilient people can be, even against semi-advanced governments. They basically had to change laws to be able to kick people out of (Menlow?) park in NYC. That's eventually what ended Occupy. I guess what I'm trying to say is, this is much larger than just Bitcoin. It scares the shit out of me. Sad
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: how many coins went for 100 usd today on: February 11, 2014, 12:21:49 AM
I got 226 new BTC today, most at the 200-300 range and I LOVE IT!
Hey lucky fella i hope it will turn out a profitable for you  ...!

Thanks Rohnearner

I'll be donating a few coins in the weeks to come to help spread the good fortune. Smiley

I was an idiot and lost .3 BTC this morning of my 2.1 btc when I panic sold in the after-effects of the 102 sell, like an idiot. Though I did pretty well recovering from it, I'm feeling quite sad. Want to be a pal and help a fella out? I'd really appreciate it. Smiley

Around 4-5am EST the price dropped for an instant, i'd say around 5-530am EST it was closer to 450-500 USD and then slowly crept up to 600+

Is this what those day traders at BTC-E wait for? I guess I can see how it could be profitable but sitting at a computer waiting for something abnormal to happen seems pretty dull.

At BTC-E you can set buy-in orders at a predetermined price. Same for selling. Most of those people were sleeping and someone sold right into their buy order...I'm sure MANY people woke up very happy, lol. For me it was one of those nights last night..  Hm... I feel a big crash coming... But decided not to sell. Sad until I woke up, ran downstairs when it was 670, needed phone to log into BTCE, ran upstairs and by the time i was back down, started crashing from initial 670 to 640... god damn 2 factor auth screwed me over! From there I thought it may be bottoming out and just watched it fall and got more and more sad before I was an idiot! lol
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Enjoy? on: February 10, 2014, 11:08:17 PM

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Name something you've actually BOUGHT with bitcoin on: February 07, 2014, 08:57:10 PM
Woot for those of us who truly believe in and ACTUALLY spend it! I have tipped multiple people for good advice and replaced a fried 7950 with a 270x thanks to TD! Just before this past crash too, so I feel fortunate...its like I got 15% off...feels good. Tongue
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: February 05, 2014, 03:42:49 AM
Let me put it this way... What is up with this?? Why does it look like I'm getting no work/shares or whatever?

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: February 05, 2014, 02:54:17 AM
I was wondering if anybody could explain why the rate at which I've been mining blocks seems so slow? I switched to another pool for a bit that works the same way and was mining blocks 10 times faster. I used to mine blocks/work from middle coin much faster than I do now and just wondering what's up with that?

The network difficulty is changing every 2 seconds right now but I'm getting no work/shares...the difficulty just went from 21 to 51 without a single share or any work sent to my GPUs. I guess shares is the correct term? lol, kinda newbie. Smiley
14  Bitcoin / Press / [2014-01-16] The Feds Are Ready To Sell $25 Million of Bitcoin Seized From S.R. on: January 17, 2014, 01:18:04 AM
http://www.forbes.com/sites/kashmirhill/2014/01/16/the-feds-are-ready-to-sell-the-silk-road-bitcoin-kind-of/

Think they will be careful and sell to private bidders to keep the market stable, or somehow dump on the market with carelessness?

On the other hand, Kashmir may be a bit biased and against Bitcoin considering other articles I've read from her...Just my 2 cents.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin's popularity fading? on: January 15, 2014, 11:17:22 PM
If you're considering transaction volume and BTCs popularity as one-in-the-same, you're going about it wrong. Bitcoin is only increasing in popularity and it's obvious by the amount of press coverage today compared to October. Today all the major publications (WSJ, Forbes, CNBC, CNN, etc.) release multiple articles on a daily basis. As far as transaction volume...I think we're at a point where nobody knows what will happen next...Are we still in a bubble and will it collapse one day soon...? Or will it just slowly gain with random peaks and values as it seems to have been doing for 3 weeks now?

Or speak spanish ...  Roll Eyes

Oh yeah, I forgot Google Translate doesn't exist or automate itself within Chrome. Tongue

That's my 2 cents, anyway.
