We are waiting for the Verona - Milan match now. It is going to be important for Milan to beat their opponent as Inter have the lead in the standings now. Actually their drawing with Verona would be enough for taking the lead if I'm not wrong. But they wouldn't like to make do with it of course. The more they are away from Inter, the better for them. Verona might make some difficulties maybe in the first half but Milan would still do this.

I placed a bet on Betis' double chance really but my bet barely lost it. It was because of the goal scored by Alba in the last minute literally. I don't think that one of these teams deserved a victory more than the other. Because they both competed very well I mean. The best result for this match would have been a draw but here we are. Betis are now waiting for Atletico Madrid to play their match today. In case Atletico Madrid win, things will be even more difficult for Betis.

Manchester City are already 2-0 ahead now and it is halftime. I think that Liverpool must be very unhappy with the result they got against Tottenham. Because it looks like Manchester City are going to turn this into an advantage and get three points ahead of Liverpool in the standings. It was such an incredible performance by Granada against Mallorca as they won the match by 6-2 away. They were in the drop zone actually but now they are out of it. They made it by a great effort in this match. I would never expect such match between them honestly. We saw eight goals in total. There is a great competition among a few teams to maintain themselves in the La Liga. Let's see what teams will drop.

Napoli are more comfortable against Juventus now as they have opened the gap with them by three more points. Juventus got a really disappointing result against Genoa yesterday. It was totally unexpected. That 2-1 loss cost them this. Now Napoli are four points ahead as they defeated Torino away by 1-0 today. It was a very challenging match for them actually but they still made it.

I don't know how but Chelsea somehow lost two points in their match against Wolves today. Lukaku scored two goals in two minutes and he made his team get ahead 2-0. But somehow Wolves managed to steal the point they wanted. It was like the goal came in the last minute of the stoppage time. And I see this as a chance to close the gap more for Arsenal. But they need to beat Leeds to do so. And they should be able to do that.

There is still an incredible competition for the league title between many teams now. Even the team at the fifth position seem to have a chance for this title. It is going to be lovely to follow this competition on the coming two weeks. Schalke are two points ahead of Darmstadt and Bremen and keeping their lead. I think they will finish the season as the champion team. But it is too hard to make a prediction for the second and third positions.

Monaco are definitely going to be favoured in their match versus Lille away. Whether it is away or not, Monaco would be very close to winning it anyway. Lille are really aimless now and it wouldn't be easy for them to resist Monaco. Monaco need to continue winning matches to keep their chance for the second position. They mustn't lose their focus even a bit to continue doing this. They are already on a superb winning streak.

And now Real Madrid are officially Liverpool's opponent in final round of the CL. But the match last night was absolutely epic. Even Real Madrid must be very surprised after making that kind of a comeback. They literally saved themselves by the goals in the stoppage time. Benzema and Rodrygo were the heroes of this match certainly. If it weren't for them, Real Madrid would be eliminated. Now let's see if Real Madrid revenge on Liverpool.

If we are talking about the Betis - Barcelona match, I'd like to say that there is no clear favourite in this match. Barcelona might seem as one step ahead of Betis but I wouldn't believe in them to be the winner in this. They didn't seem to be playing strongly recently and Betis might hit them hard also. I'm considering to make a bet on Betis' double chance for this match. I don't think they would lose this match.

Liverpool - Tottenham seems to be the most watchable match now. We would enjoy a very competitive match here. Liverpool seem to be very determined about their championship chance in the Premier League. They are continuing to defeat their opponents one by one like they are nothing for them. But Tottenham is a big obstacle for them. Their last head-to-head match ended in a draw like 2-2. Liverpool need to play better this time to have a win. And I hope they will.

The series continued with an amazing game last night I think. Grizzlies succeeded in beating them by only five points but it wasn't the amazing part of course. It was Morant's unbelievable performance in this game by 47 pts, 8 reb and 8 ast. I think that nobody can complaint about his high level of performance for certain. If he continues to make this kind of an effort in the remaining games also, Grizzlies can make a surprise and eliminate Warriors also. It isn't impossible for them to achieve in the first place. They just need to focus on performing better than Warriors in each game.

Each one of the Rangers - Leipzig and Frankfurt - West Ham matches is going to be hell of a match I think. I expect more goals this time in the Rangers - Leipzig match. We would see at least one goal by each side and it would be a lovely competition then. And at the end, I think Leipzig will make it. But I don't want to watch a one-sided match as I said. And in the other match, I'm favouring West Ham to win and advance to next round. I know what Frankfurt did before but we can see the same thing from West Ham too. It is quite probable to me.

It makes me feel good to see Wolfsburg and Gladbach climbing the positions in the Bundesliga. They really haven't had a solid season that's for certain. They both were even under the danger of relegating some time ago. But now, there is no threat for them thankfully. The reason why I'm contented with this is that these are both good teams normally. We shouldn't be seeing them in the second league I think. They don't deserve that much low level. I hope they come back stronger next season.

Congratulations to Liverpool on their win by 3-2 over Villarreal and qualifying for the finale as well. But I'd like to appreciate Villarreal's performance in both matches also. They were very impressive especially in the rematch. I even doubted Liverpool's chance to make it to the finale for once. This is really promising for their future and maybe they can be more successful in the coming years if they continue to do better. And tonight, we have the Real Madrid - Manchester City match finally. I'll definitely watch it as well and will be favouring Real Madrid.

We are going to be able to watch another derby match this week: Besiktas - Fenerbahce. And the winning odds for these teams are nearly the same now. Besiktas seem to be the favourite club by a very slight gap. But in my opinion, Fenerbahce are the favourite club here. They would like to consolidate their position against Konyaspor. The point gap between them is already four now and there are three weeks to go. If Fenerbahce win and Konyaspor lose at least two points, then Fenerbahce will be very close to securing their position in the standings.

Such a bad performance by Leipzig it was. I don't know how they managed to concede another goal after their opponent got a red card too. This 3-1 loss must have been a big lesson for them. As they are out of top four zone now, their chance to qualify for the Champions League is in danger now. Because Freiburg have been wonderful for many weeks and they wouldn't lose their focus easily I think. However their remaining matches are very difficult against Union Berlin (H) and Leverkusen (A). Leipzig will hope them to lose as many points as possible.

The most absurd match of the week was Goztepe - Rizespor. Rizespor had such a great performance against Goztepe and destroyed them by 7-1. They both didn't have much goal left in this season and they played freely. It is really hard to understand how Çaykur Rizespor scored 7 goals in that match. Again, Gedson Fernandes played excellently, scoring 2 goals and 1 assist before he left the game. He has 3 goals and 3 assists in 11 games this season. He has already made it clear that he will blow like a storm in the league next year. Joel Pohjanpalo on loan from Bayer Leverkusen also scored 15 goals. They would never have loaned such a quality player in Leverkusen if it weren't for two excellent strikers like Patrik Schick and Moussa Diaby. Pohjanpalo could be transferred to a good team next year. He is definitely not the type to be the 3rd striker. The 27-year-old striker Joel Pohjanpalo has performed really great so far indeed. He has been a big help for his team during all of the season. They are still relegating from the Super League maybe but they must still be very contented with his performance. He has scored 15 goals in 30 league matches. And I wonder whether Leverkusen would be likely to loan him to Rizespor again. Maybe Pohjanpola won't be eager to play in the second league here. But this must have boosted his morale a lot as he wasn't having any chance at Leverkusen. |
