21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini overclocked on: September 04, 2018, 02:48:25 PM
It’s just a mini, but Maybe it’s because I’m using nano pool, they just added support for the Z9 so maybe there’s less people over there. Not sure, but you may want to try them out. I have use them for ETH and XMR for quite a while and been very happy with them.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini overclocked on: September 04, 2018, 02:17:20 PM
Running at 650 MHz, over the past 23 hours, 46,505 accepted shares, 54 rejected (0.116%) over on Nanopool.

Rejects can have lots of variables, I used to get lots of rejects on my Vegas when I ran XMR-Stak, but after switching to SRBMiner I get almost none.  Same thing goes for pools.  When I mine ETH on my 1070 rig at nicehash I get lots of rejects, none at Nanopool.

So I tried adding a 2nd fan to my Mini (Delta QFR1212GHE) yesterday, but man it was way to loud.  I found that moving the fan about 1 inch away from the backplate reduced the noise a lot, which I think means most of the noise is turbulence.  Even with that, the point of creating a push/pull fan setup is to either cool better at the same noise level or cool the same with reduced noise level.  I'm not really seeing that with these industrial fans.  Removing the backplate completely should help but not sure I want to void my warranty yet.  Also need a way to mount it if the backplate is removed.  Anyone else try this?

4.5 means two of the boards dropped out, hence you get a third of the hash rate.

Interesting, on the Ant Miner web console, it says all 3 are online, just hashing at 1.5k each...  Most folks were reporting they would see HW errors or the 3rd card going to 0 when their overclock was too high, so I was assuming this was slightly different.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini overclocked on: September 03, 2018, 02:10:04 PM
Just got my batch 2 Mini yesterday.  Ran it at 650 Mhz all night and had no HW errors and minimal pool rejects (using nanopool).  Getting around 14.8Ksol/s.  What's odd is I changed the cgminer.conf to set the speed to something higher but anything higher than 650 just gives me a really low hash rate, around 4.5Ksol/s, even 655 Mhz.  No HW errors, just slow hashing.  Anyone else experience this?

wondering the same thing...
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Ryzen hashrate? on: August 25, 2018, 01:12:12 PM
So bits be trippin Carter ran 2990x @stock settings and got around   2 500h/s

Kind of disappointing actually.  I get 1450 h/s on my 1950x, and Ryzen 2nd gen has a better caching scheme (about 10% faster) than first gen Ryzen.

Thank you for the information... I checked and you were right... pretty sure it was only running on 4 threads instead of 8 using NiceHash2. So I think I did the config file correctly, which did same to make a jump. I played with the clock a bit too 3.8 @ 1.28750v stable running average 67c. However the hashrate is now averaging 378 - 390... somtimes hits 400 the drops? Any more suggestions on what I could be editing next? Do you think its because I am using nicehash and not mining XMR directly myself? Also yes it is using CryptoKnightV7 I doubled checked for sure.

No, mining via Nicehash vs and XML pool shouldn't affect the hashrate.  In Nicehash what miner software is it using for mining XMR. XMR-stak or XMRig?

I have a few Ryzen rigs mining with XMR-stak/Nicehash and they are around 600 h/s with 8 threads.

Just $0.02 here...

Avoid the Gigabyte X399 boards, I have one and hate it.  It has tons of issues, and Gigabyte support for this platform is horrible.  Shop around on the 1950x, you can find some good deals on them now that Threadripper 2 has been announced, or go with a Ryzen2 platform.  Ryzen2 can mine monero well and is a fraction of the cost of Threadripper (I have a Ryzen 2600 that mines 600+ h/s with no overclock).

33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's your Crytonight V7 hash rate? on: June 25, 2018, 03:54:32 PM
results from the pool for 24hrs
Fx 8350 324hs
I7 4770k 180hs
both using xmrstak

Hmm, My 4770k gives me 290-310 h/s with XMR-stak.  Running a mild OC (3.9Ghz) with stock voltage.  How many threads are you using?  4 is optimal due to the 8 MB L3 cache.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's your Crytonight V7 hash rate? on: June 22, 2018, 01:08:41 PM
I recently switch from XMR-stak to SRBminer for my GPUs because I was getting a lot of rejected shares on Nicehash. Rejected shares dropped from 5-6% to 0.1%, and I got a nice bump in hashrate. My Vega56 went from 1980 to 2050 h/s and 1/2 my RX570s went from 900 to 950 (the othe half are a different brand/memory and stayed at 900).
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore crash at startup - GPU Z no OpenCL on: June 21, 2018, 03:54:02 PM
What GPU are you using for your Primary Display?  A couple months back I was using my CPU's iGPU for the primary display and everything worked great.  Recently, I can't get any mining software to load any AMD OpenCL devices unless I use one of them as my primary display.  It's almost like Windows is not loading the AMD drivers properly unless an AMD card is the primary display.  I had the same behavior from at least 4 different miners, so my issue had nothing to do with Claymore.

Still on 2.3.0, running on MacOS X 10.9.

Look cool, already downloaded it.  Do I need to do anything to migrate from 2.3?  Should I delete my existing Dashboards?

thanks for all your hard work!
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX580 vs 1070 - same performance / big price difference on: June 16, 2018, 07:01:26 PM
I have 2 ETH rigs, one with 6x1070s, one with 6xRx570s.  All my 1070s are Nvidia branded FE and set to power target = 65% with NvidiaInspector. All hash at 32.5-33 Mh/s and consume 99-100 watts.  My Rx570s are a mix of Asus and MSI cards, all are bios modded.  The Asus cards consume 92-94 watts, MSI cards range from 95-105 watts and all 6 hash at 29.0 Mh/s.  So for me Nvidia cards are more efficient hash/watt, but cost a lot more (now) than AMD cards.  Nvidia cards are very easy to tune, AMD cards CAN be easy (find a good bios online and flash it) or a pain (roll your own bios mod and spend hours tweaking).  For my ASUS cards, I found a great BIOS on Anorak, flashed it and I was off and running.  My MSI cards didn't like any of the straps I tried, so spent a lot of time trying to find an optimal setting.  Also have 3 of the exact same MSI cards with the exact same bios, same memory, etc, and they use 95w, 99w, 105w.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.6.0 on: June 16, 2018, 04:37:30 PM
Ha anyone else had problems with Hynix memory GPUs with this miner? We have some Samsung and Micron Rx 580 8GB GPUs that have both responded quite well to tweaking. However, the lone Hynix model that we have does not respond to any overclocking/underclocking, or it responds negatively. Thankfully it does undervolt well in order to reduce power, but I'd like to get that extra ~200+ hashrate out of it to match the other GPUs.  If anyone has succeeded in tweaking a Hynix model with this miner I'd love to see what your settings are. Smiley

*All of the above GPUs are on stock bios.

i have 3 RX570s with Hynix memory and have to use slower straps to get the best hash rate out of them.  Thinking they have 1750 straps or maybe even higher...  They hash about 900 H/s with intensity 58.  My 3 Elpida memory 570s run more aggressive straps (1500 i think) and hash about 950 h/s with intensity 58.  All 6 run memory at 2020 Mhz.  On XMR-stak all 6 hash around 880-890, but they react the same way to strap timings.
