1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner R-Box Setup [HD] on: December 31, 2014, 11:13:47 PM
I have replaced my BFL 12GH/s by this R-Box at 32GH/s ... here is the setting to use it (you can update the first message with the picture if you want).

Picture are here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=885753.msg9848021#msg9848021

It's for solo mining ... replace "localhost:8332" with your pool if needed.
-u = username (on pool or RPC server)
-p = password (on pool or RPC server)

Thanks for this subject, it have guided me to choose a replacment device ...  Cheesy

PS: fan has been replaced by a less noisy ... that why the temperature is not 39-42°C ... but 61°C.  Grin no problem, and ... no noise !

No, icarus-* isn't a recognized option at all by BFGminer and is ignored silently.  It'd be properly done via --set-device icarus:
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to mine with gridseeds and a raspberry pi. on: December 30, 2014, 06:10:13 PM
I'm still new to using Raspbian, and am enjoying BFGminer. I have a problem and am wondering if anyone else has the same. Im trying to figure out how to dual mine with the gridseed in BFGminer. Both I have enabled in BFGminer, but can only get scrypt to run. Do I need to put anything special in the command line?

When you wrote this, NFW, BFGminer didn't support dualmining ANYTHING.  Since then (11/29, to be precise), it's POSSIBLE in software (there's a dualmining option in 5.0.0), but BFGminer's gridseed driver still won't recognize the SHA chips yet.  I think my gridseeds will remain on my desktop until that bit's resolved and I've seen it work a few days.  Reconfiguring via SSH session isn't fun.  Looks like it's scrypt or go home still :/
3  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 4.2.0: modular ASIC+FPGA, GBT+Strtm, RPC, Mac/Lnx/W64, RockMiner R-BOX on: June 29, 2014, 08:13:00 AM
Is there ever going to be a method for hotswapping kernels between SHA and Scrypt?  Kinda want to get a dualminer, but don't want to completely shut off the more-lucrative SHA mining completely to mine Doge

I'm not sure what you mean by "hotswapping kernels". Kernels are for GPU mining, not ASIC mining.

BFGMiner already supports Dual Mode mining with DualMiner ASICs, just not with the 5-chip GridSeed Orbs. I doubt that will ever be supported, as there is very little demand. Most controller software has already disabled or deprecated mining SHA with the Scrypt ASICs and newer Scrypt ASICs don't support the feature at all.

Okay, let me get to the deep problem, then we can come back and correct my crappy translation to shallow problem Smiley  I have a Radeon 4350 (what can I say, AGP board and not a lot of round tuit to gut it), and mined scrypt coins and bleeding-edge alts with it fine until Ubuntu trusty changed things so badly that the fglrx-legacy blew up and I couldn't mine anymore (they SAY that the rv710 will eventually get opencl in the radeon drivers, but I ain't holding my breath). I found I liked mining, so grabbed a cheap antminer to tide me over, knowing that I'd have to go SHA. Of course, when I fired up bfgminer right afterward, I had to move the old config file that had the --scrypt option within (which I now know was only to get the radeon to work with scrypt, and became mostly irrelevant when trusty ruined my rig's drivers) and all my scrypt pools because I was (understandably) getting all hwerrors.  This is fun, but I wanna get a dualminer and back to scrypt asap, and rotate through pools (and altcoins) like I used to, except use the antminer when I'm on a SHA pool and not have to do extra stuff when I rotate through a scrypt pool (ultimately, I'd like the radeon to follow the bouncy pools, but that can wait until the radeon actually plays opencl in the open-source driver).  TBH, I had thought that the dualminer wasn't even an option until I looked at the changelog the other day and realized that dualminers work natively under bfgminer (dualminer itself says you need a specially patched cgminer, which they haven't gotten the round tuit to get working in linux).  So how can I get bfgminer to happily realize the proper hardware to use when I point it at a given pool, or am I just spinning my wheels because of a mistaken belief (see radeon mess) that bfgminer needs assistance in doing the right thing?

We miners needn't exchange at the begining, not realy shortly after coin arrived, but nobody will mine coin about we never heared. Attract people.. make give away, some advertisement, nice logo, some colored pictures about coin and so on and miners will come... Else u will mine it along and nobody exept you will need it.

We were never apprised of the fact that the miners had a representative, nor would we recognize one if they did.  When you realize that you can only represent yourself, we'll talk.

I see pretty low promotion :/ , I think that post about it in objectivist sites will be in some way useful... like in Galt's Gulch or so

We've posted in Galt's Gulch Online already

If only there was a testnet to test on instead of using that as an excuse to premine

I don't think even lites used testnet.  It's a solution, but not one we had any particular desire to use when nobody else does.

Best dumbass reply ever. Coin's dead already. Move along

No, I think you got me beat  Roll Eyes

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]GaltCoin - Full Release on: January 31, 2014, 03:54:37 AM
why do devs continue to premine even though they know it will ruin the coin?

are people that greedy?

The DevTeam didn't.  All those blocks are the beta testers.  the Devteam mined 1000 blocks, or enough to A) ensure the anchor block wasn't going to lose a hardfork battle out of the gate and B)ensure that there were enough blocks to support our few test transactions.  We then went into open beta, and our hardware was quickly overwhelmed by the beta testers and the pools.  You had just as much chance to enter the open beta as they did.  Shoulda been watching better, kiddo.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]GaltCoin - Full Release on: January 31, 2014, 03:47:07 AM
yea and once it hits a exchange the "open beta testers" dump away the 10000 blocks.. no thankss  Smiley

So?  You're a fool if you do any amount of trading a new coin the first week it's on the exchanges, coins are either hugely overvalued or hugely undervalued.  Wait until the coin stabilizes before you trade is my advice.  My actual advice here is: why sell at all?  Trading galtcoin for bitcoin or fiat isn't really what we intend for the coin at all.  We'd rather see actual tangible goods being traded for it than other currencies

PREMINED!

Just like in life, your post was a day late and a dollar short, a mere minute after someone that wasn't part of the dev team posted a WTS.  You could have mined during the open beta, but didn't, not our problem you couldn't get off your ass.

The GLT p2pool is finding almost every block! Smiley
I'm luv'n them payouts!   Ca-chingggg! Smiley

While this is totally cool for the beta (no transactions to speak of, so no worries if someone's 51%ing), Starting next month, we'll need to keep an eye on this, as p2pool having most of the hashrate means they can arbitrarily choose blockforks and reverse transactions if they weren't the really cool people we know they really are Smiley

Those files in the source directory of the file section were put there by mistake, that section's for precompiled binaries, and while we have some, we really don't like them.  TBH they're up, but we're really rather you go into either of the sections marked CODE and compile for yourself.  The one on the far right is svn, the one in the middle is git, the svn commit has timestamps since 1/14, the git was an afterthought, so has a little later timestamps.  So, you still standing by the whole "just uploaded" thing, WHEN THERE ARE TIMESTAMPS THAT SAY 1/14 IN THE EVIDENCE THAT YOU'RE A MORON?

So those 4 files are the entire source?  If you're going to call me a moron, you should at least be sure you're able to put a file in its proper place.

Where the HELL did you get the idea that files placed by mistake in a random directory constituted the entirety of the source unless you really are a moron?  You were even told that those files weren't even intentionally there yet you still run with the idea that they're the entire source.  At this point, you're being disingenuous or a moron, I'm fully onboard with the latter, although both is entirely within the realm of probability.

no source . scamer

svn checkout svn://svn.code.sf.net/p/galtcoin/code-0/ galtcoin-code-0  Moron

Look, asshole, don't put your shit coin up without source code and then berate users for pointing it out.

The source files were NOT there until just recently.

One of the fun things about subversion is that it provides a history log to anyone that asks it right, via svn log.  Look it up, if you CBA to do it there, look on sourceforge's history.  Both say there source has been there all this time, and I stand by calling people that can't find it morons.  Except you, you're a liar and a moron.

From your OP:   GaltCoin is available at http://galtco.in and via git and subversion from https://sourceforge.net/projects/galtcoin/

I'll just leave those here....
