1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Small issue with laptop gpu when EGPU is connected on: August 19, 2022, 09:23:42 AM
Hello, have you checked your virtual memory (and try ton increase it) if you are mining with Windows. I often had the issue when trying to mine with several cards
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Question about Pool fees and payout on: August 10, 2021, 07:17:53 AM
Hello everyone, I am mining Eth since late 2017 and after EIP 1559 I have a question I can't find an answer (even with google help Smiley).

For a long time I thought that I was paying my transaction fee when I was getting a payout from my pool but with the last change from EIP 1559 I know now that it was not the case and that until EIP the pool were paying it.

Until EIP 1559 Pool minimum payout was pretty high (0.05 for nanopool, 0.1 for HiveOn etc...) and many miners made the choice of a pool depending of the minimum payout settings.

Now things have changed and many pool have lowered their minimum payout (but make miners pay their transactions fees).

If I understand correctly how Gwei and GAS works, even if I pay up to 500 Gwei its like 0.15 $ so it is very cheap.

If it is the case my question is, why do not pool Don't have even lower payout settings and why did they previously set their minimum payout so high ?

For example my RIGS make like 70 $ a day, I Don't care to pay 0.15$ a day to cash my Eth, its like 0.2% of the total amount.

For little miners reaching the minimal payout could take weeks or even months, so if you know the Reason why or if I am missing a point please tell me Wink

Hello All,

Agree with jgonzi  for the cards ranking, Sapphire is the best brand (easy replacable fan, very high quality build and impressive cooling, with NITRO+>Pulse>Pulse BE

If someone can give us information about flashing the bios I would be interrested. I saw a couple of video about rx 5700 biosmod but until now noone of rx 5600 biosmod

Agree it is a very strange big jump in difficulty, there must be an explanation, hopefully its not asics....

Hi Everyone, on one of my Rig after powerloss I get the same problem. I usually just have to clear CMOS and everything get back to normal
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nitro RX 480 Fans Not Working on: July 06, 2020, 06:37:48 AM
Sapphire fan are very easy to change. There is only one screw and a nice mechanism. It should take you 3 minutes to change it. (With Gigabyte changing a fan was a much more complex operation which took me half an hour)

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: gtx 1060 3GB vs gtx 1060 6GB on: September 12, 2019, 09:16:17 AM
3 Go Cards are not a good option any more for Etash as you need at least 4 Go for Ethereum and Ethereum Classic...
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TeamRedMiner 0.5.7 - Cryptonight Thread - High hashrate, Low Power on: September 05, 2019, 11:40:04 AM
And how about RVN hashrate ?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI X570 Gaming Plus, Sapphire RX580 Freeze. on: September 04, 2019, 02:07:33 PM
You should try TeamRedMiner and set core clock speed to 1250 and mem speed to 2000. With this you should hit 1000k/h

Hello ComX,

With the latest drivers you don't need anymore to active this mode (the driver detect and set the mining mode automaticaly). This is the reason why you don't find the option.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Is this really cooling ? 120mm extra fans attached to the rig frame on: August 06, 2019, 11:15:02 AM
I have seen many Rigs on the internet with 120 fans attached to the frame of the rig but i have not found any review about their efficiency.

Has any of your tried this setup and is this really Worth it ? I already attached one extra fan to one graphic card but I didn't notice any drop in temperature.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus B250 Mining Expert boot issue 1207 on: August 06, 2019, 06:31:30 AM
Thank you Johny101010 for your advises. I was able to solve it by putting an old Radeon 6850 on the 16 slot and then all my cards where detected.

At first after this my load average (LA) rised a lot but after a couple of restarts it seems to run much better...

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Asus B250 Mining Expert boot issue 1207 on: August 01, 2019, 06:42:03 AM

Hello everyone, I am having a big problem with my Asus B250 Mining Expert MotherBoard.

I used to have it running with 8 RX 570 and Hiveos and it worked pretty well except when I wanted to change algo

Then the load of the motherboard (LA) rised and the cards were hashing very low (or the rig was not responding at all and was going offline). Same issue happened sometime when I was changing my overclocking profil.

I decided to flash my Bios with the latest version (1207 instead of 1001) to solve this problem and instead....ended with a much bigger problem.

I now can't start my rig at all. I get from the motherboard a long bip and 3 short bips and nothing on the screen.

If I am right theses bips means that my motherboard doesn't detect any graphic cards.

From what I remember I had the same issue when I first bought the motherboard and I was able to solved it by plugging an oldschool RX 7950 (After that the motherboard dectected all my RX570)

Did you had a similar issue ? Or have you a solution ?

Here is what I have tested so far:

1) Unpluging all graphics cards, and Pluging only one card with riser on the x16 port

2) Unpluging my second power supply

3) Pluging one card directly on the motherboard (with bios mod and with original rom)

4) clear CMOS

I which I still had my Rx 7950 to do the test but I solded it...

Any advice are welcome
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help needed with Above 4G decoding and SMOS on: July 13, 2018, 05:09:30 PM
So Many answers already !!!😁 One of my Idea was to try using à harddrive formatted in uefi ans set smos on it.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Help needed with Above 4G decoding and SMOS on: July 13, 2018, 11:26:26 AM
Hello Guys,

I have built 2 RIGS with 4 RX 570 each and I am quite happy about them.

I tried  to run them using Windows 7 64 bit edition but I was having poor hashrate so I switch to SMOS and I love the way it work !!!

My only issue so far is that I can't make them work with more than 4 GPUS (both motherboards have a "mining option in the bios and are supposed to work with up to 6 cards )

First RIG use an MSI 270-A PRO motherboard (I read that many people were having trouble so I bought another motherboard with another chipset to set my second RIG)

Second RIG use a Gigabyte H110-D3A

Both Rigs have Celerons, 4 Go Crucial Balistix Memory and a 16 Go USB Stick to run SMOS.

My problem is as follow :

When I enable 4 G decoding, then my USB stick doesn't show as a booting device, so I can't boot SMOS, the MSI show me a black screen, the Gigabyte open directly the Bios in the booting section and show no device to boot.

I have read that it has to do with SMOS not being a UEFI disk but...there seems to be no way to make SMOS a UEFI drive

Does someone had a similar issue with it ?

I have already tried several things

1) Using Integrated graphics

2) Change the Gen to Gen 2

3) Enable Legacy boot

4) Update BIOS

5) Switch risers and video cards

6) I have read quite a lot using différents forums but no answer has helped me fixe this problem

I would be very gratefull if someone could find a minute to answer and possibly find a solution to my problem

Regards
Jean

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: May 15, 2018, 06:30:52 PM
Hello All, and thank you Tyanick for making such an easy to use plateform !!!

As Banman24 said there is a real issue with SMOS and 4g decoding.

I have 2 motherboards MSI Z270 A PRO and GIGABYTE H110-D3A  and when I enable 4G encoding the system don't boot. I bought the second motherboard (Gigabyte one)in order to get all 6 card running, I suspected my first motherboard to have an Issue but...same result.

I find SMOS to be a very good mining solution and for now I am building two rigs with 4 cards each (to bypass this problem) but as Banman24 said the best solution would be that Tyanick make SMOS UEFI

I have no clue if it is complicated but I am sure now that I am not the only one facing this pretty annoying problem and...if there was an easy solution we would all be very glad.

PS: I didn't knew about legacy option on the Gigabyte so maybe I could have my six cards running if I find the legacy option

PS to Tyanick: I didn't find any information on the SMOS website regarding the legacy option which must be set on most motherboard in order to start with more than 4 cards. This information was quite hard to find and I think it should be on the frontpage ....

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Will My One GPU Rig Cause Problems With its Heat This Summer? on: April 19, 2018, 09:19:00 PM
Your cards run at stock setting and that is the problem but also part of the solution.

I have a similar rig with 4 rx 570 in a 10 m2 room, the rig was really warm and the room temperature was about 30 degres and it was a pleasure in winter time but no more in spring.

I was looking for solutions like moving it to a shelve or building an outdoor frame but before that I started optimising its consomption.

I have been undervolting the cards and the rig temperate has been dropping a lot. The air in the room is now not really warm and everything works perfectly, I don't have to move it anymore.

Cryptonight algo is also better than ethereum temperature wise as it does'nt require as much watt as ethereum (one of my card is 71 degrees on ETH but only 64 degrees when mining XMR)

Hope this can help you
