It's hyped because it's near ATH again. It has increased in value by 100 times, and moreover, it uses a simple Proof of Work mechanism without anything special to make it a better project than Proof of Stake (POS) to achieve a market capitalization of 100 billion dollars is really challenging.
The fact that something has grown 100x already is a horrible selling point. And imho it has way overvalued marketcap for current market conditions. And if something is PoW doesn't make it automatically suprerior to some other cryptographic proof. Or are you saying most of the dead PoW projects with one pseudonymous developer that lasted maybe week and had handful of miners back in 2014 were better than ethereum 2.0 for example? Substance for Kaspa comes from development, not from the consensus mechanism. As i said it's about the future development. As we know many coins come and go. Devs leave or it just gets abandoned. Thats why i'm watching rather than investing heavily. I mined some earlier this year before the asics took over. I do see it as future gem "IF" development is maintained

I've been mining since 2014 and am currently switching between Neoxa and Ergo. These are not at the highest profitability but i'm not mining to dump. I'm holding them for the later bullrun. Kaspa is a waste of time unless you have the asics. Nothing else imo is worth the effort.

Last time ergo is nice for amd cards but, after eth pow gone, ergo floded x10 hashrate from miner desperately trying to recoup their investment on gpu side, with the fall of ergo price, began quickly unprofitable even you got free electricity isnt worth it at all
How can you say it's not worth it even with free electricity? Ergo imo is worth mining even at a loss right now as long as you can hold it for the next big bullrun. Thats the only way to make big money in crypto from now i think. IF you can afford to mine in todays situation then it's worth picking the coins that could fly and just hold them

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain 3.0 = DAG??

Couple of years ago there was a new Eth alternative called Helios Protocol. It was dag based and each and every wallet had it's own parellel blockchain all connected by DAG. It had massive scalability and even had the possibility for web sites to be hosted on the chain, making ddos impossible ect ect. No one was interested and the dev just lost interested and gave up. Real shame but imo new tech is viewed suspiciously and the eth fan boys would never be persuaded. How are those fan boys getting on now eh?? The code is public so maybe a dev can go look at the github and maybe take it on??

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The hidden gem
|
on: July 20, 2022, 09:44:40 AM

Be careful of so called hidden gems. I have been in crypto since early 2014. I have seen many great coins come and go. I got involved as a team member in a coin called Helios Protocol which was a direct competitor to Ethereum. I know many so called Eth killers have come and gone. Helios did actually solve many of Eths problems but No one was interested in trying it. The developer worked on it for over 2 years solid and gave up his career to create it, yet not one person built a Ddap on it because they were only interested in Eth. So that Dev was forced to give up and shut it all down. Crypto is very tribal. People will follow the crowds and investors will attack perceived threats to their investments. So what i'm saying is that you may well have found a hidden gem but that gem will face a huge battle to become established. You can and will likely lose if you invest. People have known about Eths problems for a long time yet it still remains by far the biggest coin after Bitcoin.

What to do in bear market???
Keep mining and HOLD. I have been mining since 2013 and always sold as i needed cash. If only i had held the coins i mined i would be a multi millionaire now. It's too late now to make a lot of money imo but you can still make good money but only if you hold for better prices in bull markets

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty is taking another direction
|
on: June 06, 2022, 11:30:33 AM

The term 'BOUNTY' refers to as a reward for some specific act, especially one given by an authority or a government. But this definition is taking another dimension because most of the project owner or BMs don't really care enough about bounty hunters reward(s). To participate in bounty now is good as wasting your time. How on earth can someone earn $1-2 for working at least five days each week in a month? Does that sound good to you? This is incredible! Something has to be done about this before bounty turn to scam in it entirety. What's your view, opinion and suggestions on this?
It is very different with different bounties. Yes, we have seen Bounties projects that have refused to distribute after the bounty ended, some that changed what ought to be distributed as specified before the bounty started, and those that did distribute as expected so we cannot rope all in one bundle. At the same time, some projects have all of a sudden gone down to the trash after they were distributed as planned like BP even after all the promotion. You win some you lose some and continue trucking As an ex team member on a few different projects i was involved with bounties/ airdrops ect that required a certain amount of activity or quality in the tasks required. I can say that around 70% of participants were from the poorer countries. So these bounties were obviouysly used as a means of income to people which was ok. However most participants were caught trying to cheat the system. Either not doing what was asked or writing a very poor article with really bad English. So we had to disqualify them or not pay as the quality was too poor. We then got screamed at for not paying. They wanted to know why their 30 minutes of work only paid 10 cents worth of coin/token. To me bounties or airdrops are a speculative activity. You do it to hold and hope it gains value. But most people wish to just dump the coins and crash the price, then cry that it's worthless. The days of bounties and airdrops are over imo as they only serve to destroy the value of the project over time with the constant dumping.
On this, we keep hearing this same narrative from the project team but wouldn't you think it better to pay the accounts that did what was required their full worth and of cause penalize the defaulter which we don't have a problem with as long as there is the evidence of their poor work instead of penalizing all including those that did it right? Cos we have seen where everyone are penalized bcos of the bad ones. I'm not saying we paid no one. We did pay the people who did the required tasks. But the people who were just in it for income and dumped as soon as they got paid slowly sunk the price. So their coin rewards were worth far less than they were if everyone held their coins. That is a well known problem in bounty/airdrop coins. We called them locusts. They stripped the coins of their worth and then just moved on

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can i earn a passive income with Altcoins?

Trading cryptocurrency is something that has become very popular over the last few years, and for many people it can be a way to earn passive income. This is because by trading on trusted exchanges like Binance with products such as SOL!!! The crypto market can be the best place to earn passive income, but remember that you need to work hard and pick the best cryptocurrency product!!! And do not rely on financial advice from others, you can always check the trusted exchanges and choose the product that suits your desires to make profits and always remember that the cryptocurrency market is risky so pay close attention to what you do.
Problem is that even the "trusted" exchanges can turn out to be a scam or get hacked. Look at Cryptsy back in the day or Gox or Mintpal. Do not EVER leave your coins on exchanges. That was the number one lesson i learned years ago. If you don't hold the keys to your coins then you don't own them. But that of course means you can't trade your coins. You have to decide how much trust to give to these exchanges. Sure the big ones are well known but you just can't ever know what can happen

This is just my insight. I have been around crypto since 2013 so like to think i've gained some knowledge. I started by mining LTC then went onto cloud mining and got scammed big time. I learned . I then got into airdrops and did well with Deeponion. I joined a couple of project teams and worked for those until one turned out to be a scam and the other one had just one Dev who gave up depsite it having huge potential. So i have seen many scams and the highs and lows of the whole crypto market. I used to spend all day every day on my pc searching out projects to mine or get involved with. But i have now lost interest mostly due to the crap that goes on.i've tried to warn people when i see a potential scam going on and i think i've built up a good truthful image in the crypto world in some Discord servers i've been in. I now only mine Eth and when i have enough i buy Gold coins paying with crypto. You can't go wrong with Gold and it doesn't lose massive amounts of value and cause devastating losses.

One of my rigs stopped and now won't restart. It's giving the “not recognized as an internal or external command". I've spent over an hour doing all the usual things but it still won't work. Does my .bat file look ok to you please? i can't see anything wrong with it. It has the full path in there
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0 setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0 setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 C:\Users\miner3\Downloads\PhoenixMiner_6.2c_Windows\PhoenixMiner_6.2c_Windows -pool eth-eu2.nanopool.org:9999 -wal **************/rig4 -pass x pause
This part looks wrong to me: -wal **************/rig4 See the bat file example in the miner's directory here: REM REM Example bat file for starting PhoenixMiner.exe to mine ETH REM
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0 setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
REM IMPORTANT: Replace the ETH address with your own ETH wallet address in the -wal option (Rig001 is the name of the rig) PhoenixMiner.exe -pool ssl://eu1.ethermine.org:5555 -pool2 ssl://us1.ethermine.org:5555 -wal 0x008c26f3a2Ca8bdC11e5891e0278c9436B6F5d1E.Rig001 pause
Thats just where i took out my wallet address. I restarted the rig yesterday to find one of the 6 cards was not showing. I stripped it down and changed one power cable to one card that looked slightly dicoloured and 6 cards showed. I've just been and done exactly what i spent 2 hours doing yesterday but now it's working. Maybe it just wanted a day off

Right now a RTX 3080Ti now makes 2$ per day, sigh! Mining profits keep going down and down, is this because BTC loses some value during the weekend? Looking at the chart it seems there is more trouble ahead because the market isn't bullish anymore, am I the only one seeing all this right now?
This is happening from quite some time now, profits going down day by day is not a new thing in mining,I used to make like 20 dollars daily with 300 Mhsh, then it got to 16,then 12 and now near 10 or just above it.I know this will come down even more but I don't care as I continue mining because I know in the long run all cryptos will become higher in price so I save the cryptos from mining when this time will hopefully come. You should be fine unless your daily survival financially is dependent on your mining rig which is a very bad idea, just continue mining the best coins and hold for the long term, in the end only miners that hold their coins will be the winner not those that sell instantly. Exactly this^^^ I have been mining since 2014 and i sold as i got the coins as we had financial problems back then. If i had held all the coins i've had from the beginning i would now be a multi millionaire. That is the truth

Never heard of Stake Cube. Suppose another honeycomb of swarming scams? Nope ur objective is not to be adopted by a platform short of reputation around these blocks, but to get on an exchange in the top ten platforms by volume. The money for listing will come from fees users pay by loaning the token on any swap hub such as sushi swap.
Stakecube has been a very nice exchange to use actually. Of course anything can be a scam and due diligence should always be used. But for me it is an ok exchange. I never leave funds on ANY exchange though.
