121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich people don’t gamble. on: March 25, 2018, 09:21:54 PM
Well I'm not so sure that rich people gamble less than poor people, but saying that they use a smaller percentage for gambling than poor people is perfectly understandable in my opinion. They would have to gamble huge amounts of cash in order to reach the same % of poor people, simply because they have a lot of money. If a very rich guy spends $100 or $1000 in a game, that's nothing compared to what he has. And if someone poor spends as little as $1 or $10, that is way more in %, compared to the rich guy.

There is of course the appealing for poor people to have a chance to change their lives with gambling (specially those playing lotteries etc). I think that rich people simply don't play those kinds of games, because they don't see the appeal.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: looking for bitcoin horse racing betting on: March 24, 2018, 02:58:21 PM
Please explain to me how sportsbetting is like trading cause I am very dumb and don't understand? Are you sure you can beat chance in the long run? I am not  Grin

Hi Wendigo you receive already a reply to your question.
Check betfair.com and geektoys (software) just to understand how you can interpretate a betting game in a trading play!
Lot of people daily are just trading a bet and not playing it !!

This was exactly my "setup" when betfair had a license to operate in my country. Once they left I got left with no options. Although I enjoyed live trading, I actually got a decent profit from pre-live trading, and it was exactly on UK horse betting. Those markets were crazy, and those 10min or 5min before the race started where complete madness.

I don't really know any sports betting websites that have horse racing and that accept bitcoin. I would also like to get back in the game, but I'm sure that even if there are a few, I won't be able to trade there because I won't probably have access to trading software, and the liquidity will probably be bad.
123  Economy / Economics / Re: Why BTC is having a high price? on: March 24, 2018, 02:47:41 PM
It was below 1k last year beginning. But from the mid year prices started to explode! What's the reason behind these price rise?

Why do you even consider this to be a high price? I think the "problem" is exactly that, people don't really know how to value bitcoin. They can't objectively say that bitcoin at it's current state of development is worth X, and it has potencial to be worth Y in the future, because of it's roadmap. Since people can't do that, we have a lot of room for speculation, and since it's a free market, the price gets very volatile.

You say this is high, but we actually got to $20k already, and drop a lot from there. If bitcoin succeeds as a payment method or a currency, then it's price is quite low, at least comparing it to the market cap of gold and fiat. Don't forget bitcoin is scarce, so  if we have demand, the price can only go up.
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The way to win in gambling on: March 19, 2018, 11:48:03 AM
The way to win gambling are once you gamble and you are winning stop playing don't stay long. You can gamble again in another day i think that is the way to win gambling.
Winning in gambling is very unpredictable that is why we can't think of a way on how to win in gambling if we can't see it coming in the first place. The only way to win in gambling is never try it on the first place, because if you would, then you could assure that you would only lose on the majority of times you play gambling, it is all about thinking before make a move.

Are you serious, do you really think you can win in gamble with the power of your mind? It doesn't matter what you think, you will lose in the long term because that's how the game is designed. You can't beat math, or statistics, unless you cheat, so you will always lose in the long run, if you are playing on a casino. Nothing wrong with that, and I actually gamble to, but I don't do it to win money, and I don't fool myself when I'm gambling. So saying that you can win, if you believe in it, is fooling yourself.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much have you lost during this bloodbath? on: March 19, 2018, 11:41:43 AM
I wonder how much people have lost money during this bloodbath which never seems to end. Maybe it will continue until the overall market cap is under 100 billion.

I bought Ethereum for 5000 euro in January when the price was 770 euros, and then for another 10 000 euro when the price was something like 900€. I also bought few Litecoins as well. From original 15 000 euro I have only 5000 left now, so i've lost almost 70% for now. I haven't sold anything yet.

ETH supposed to be one of the most stable coins but I really have no idea what I should do anymore. Actually I don't even care anymore if the price of 1 ETH goes to zero and I lose that remaining 5k because I have already lost so freaking much. I even had to put my house on a rent and move back to my parents for the next 1.5 years to recover from these losses if the price does not rise again.

Sorry for opening up but I had to share my story so I can feel a bit better..

I'm not going to beat you up with the rule that people should only invest what they can afford to lose. It's true, but I guess that if you can keep your coins without selling them, then that means that you can still maintain your life with a few adjustments, but with no major losses (like going back to your parents). Since you are not really holding shitty coins, then I would say that you should just hold to them, like you are planning, and everything will probably be ok again. I'm also losing money, but I see my investment as a long term thing, so I'm not selling my coins, at least not in 2 or 3 years from now.
126  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Try to recover loss on: March 19, 2018, 11:37:38 AM
Gain and loss part of trade but we can recover the losses taking rational decisions. For me it is wrong decision to sell altcoins and start trade to recover loss,If you have affordability buy more because price is low and hold all with patience till find best moment to sell.If you can buy more then hold existing coins with patience dont panic yourself you will find best moment and good profit.

Well I guess it depends on what coins he has in the first place. Bitcoin is not a bubble, but just like the .com bubble, where a lot of "fake" companies burst, because they had no value and only attracted investors because they used the .com hype in it's favour, we will have a lot of altcoins that have no value and will burst, because they just got money form investors because of the bitcoin and blockchain hype.

I think this is a time to really evaluate projects, and only keep the ones that have strong fundamentals behind them.
127  Economy / Economics / Re: Working smart vs working hard - an ultimate guide on: March 19, 2018, 11:27:22 AM
I think a lot of people work hard because they don't really know how to work smart. By this I mean that people must learn to do a little research first and then start working. Sometimes people spend a lot of time trying to solve a problem, that was already solved by someone else. Working hard is like needing a wheel and inventing it first, instead of using something that was already created. This way they would be able to do a much better job, if they worked smart. In terms of programming, I've always heard that a lazy programmer is a smart programmer, because he is ok in using what is already available to him, instead of trying to re-create every bit of code. Not talking about stealing here, you should always give credit to what you use.
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use your Bitcoin? on: March 19, 2018, 11:17:09 AM
I would like to use it, because I think that by showing it has usability it will promote it's value. The problem is that we still don't have to many merchants accepting bitcoin right now, so it's hard to use it. Even when we find a place that accepts bitcoin, and we decide to finally buy thing with it, there is always the problem of regretting that purchase in the future because the value increased. I want to use, but maybe it's to soon right now.
129  Other / Archival / Re: Is this the end for Altcoins? on: March 18, 2018, 04:13:56 PM
All Altcoins are in red. What causes this dump and does this mean that it's over for certain amount of Altcoins?

We are talking about more then -10% for a lot of coins: Charts

Just another day in the world of crypto currencies and there is nothing to fear. I wouldn't waste my money on a lot of altcoins though because most of them will eventually disappear, since some of them are just products designed to take advantage of the hype that surrounded crypto in the last bitcoin bull run.
Now that the hype is fading, only real projects will survive, so some of those alts will never recover from this correction. It's not the death of alts, but it will be to a lot of them.
130  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading pump and dump group on: March 18, 2018, 04:10:43 PM
Personaly i encounter this group they called there groups a crypto pumpers or anything they use to call there group. They are recruiting people to join there group and say they were pump that coins or tokens but saddenly you lose your money with this mudos. Do you guys think there are some group that truely helps our new trader to earn?

All pump and dump groups are scam for some people, because they need to trick people, otherwise they would not be able to get profit for themselves or to their premium groups. I would stay away from these groups, because even if you are part of the premium members, and this would give you profit, then you would be getting money out of the expenses of a lot of other users that will lose money with them. It's simply wrong, so you should not support them.
131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker: hands analysis, useful stuff and general discussions on: March 18, 2018, 04:08:28 PM
Cool compilation man. I actually gave my first steps using pokerstrategy. Never got that far, and only got the gold level there, but it was a nice place to learn poker and start playing with no risk. I actually get some decent profit on my short climb. I also used holdem manager, and the one provided by pokerstrategy itself, since I won the license there. TwoPlusTwo is a legendary forum like you said, so really nice compilation man. I definitely know your ways through poker.

I will be waiting for some hand analysis as well. Maybe this is what I was missing to get back on the game.
132  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the price of bitcoin rapidly going down??? on: March 18, 2018, 04:03:34 PM
Is it because of the large number of altcoins?

I has nothing to do with altcoins, as alts normally do what bitcoin does. Times like this proves that there is only one big name in crypto currencies and that is bitcoin. When things go south for bitcoin, the alts just follow and take even a bigger hit.

As for your question, the short answer is because most people are selling and not buying or holding. No reason to sell the coins though, so I can't actually tell you why bitcoin is going down. The news in term of development are actually decent, with LN getting closer to a release, so I think this is just temporary.
133  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you trade? on: March 05, 2018, 04:03:31 PM
How do you trade? Do you still follow the buy low and sell high? Are you still looking on the charts to predict the future value of the coin? Or Do you just use your instinct and trade base on the volume?  Some people are still panicking if their coins go dip and just sell it before they lose greater sum of money. People whose enemy is their own emotions. For me I am studying the charts of the coins which has a high potential to pump even though I'm not sure if it woll really pump. If not, I'm just holding it until it does. I am controlling my emotions and think calmly so that I can resuce the mistakes that I may done with my decisions. How about you?

I don't really do any of these things, and the only thing that kind of relates to what I do, is when you talked about volume. I do look at the charts, and I think that's mandatory if you want to trade, but I'm not trying to predict the future. I look at the charts, and define my entries based on what I already know from the previous market patterns. There are some things that are more likely to happen, so I make those things as my target, and I define a stop loss in case I'm wrong. In the long run, I should be ok, and so far I'm doing fine. But I'm not really trying to predict anything, I just calculate my odds of wining a trade, and try to make profitable decisions in the long run.
134  Economy / Economics / Re: Germany recognized the bitcoin on: March 05, 2018, 03:58:34 PM
The Ministry of Finance of Germany signed the Decree on recognition of bitcoin  legal tender.  The document specifies that purchases made for cryptocoins, are not taxed! What do you think about it?

Really great for bitcoin, specially if we consider that Germany pays a very important role in the decisions made by the European Union, so if Germany made that decision, I'm sure many other will follow, so Bitcoin will probably have the doors open in Europe in terms of regulation. If we actually look at it, top world countries are accepting bitcoin well (Japan, Switzerland, now Germany), so things are going well. The United States are decent, but still have a long way to go, and need to change the way they are trying to tax BTC.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for thesis? on: March 05, 2018, 03:53:06 PM
Could it be possible for a bitcoin to become a thesis? I mean its a way of spreading awareness of btc. What do you think?

It's a great idea, and it could be done in many areas such at a technical level, related to blokchain development, but also in economics, regulation, or even at a social level. I've seen kids presenting small papers about bitcoin in their school, and I always find that great, but seeing it at a high college level it would be amazing. Perfectly possible, and if you can do it, I think you should.
136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: most trusted esports betting site? on: March 05, 2018, 03:44:48 PM
Well right now I would go for nitrogen, not just for e-sports but for all sports in general. They are the sports book I normally recur to place all my bets right now. My only concern with them is that the withdraws sometimes take a bit of time to complete, but I never had any problems with them, so besides that I have no complains. Their support system works well for me, and the odds are normal.
137  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what if faced with such a situation and what your backup plan is on: March 04, 2018, 10:00:25 PM
whether you have a backup plan if you are involved in trade issues, such as significant price reductions or down too far, and there are two options that exist in your view between holding or selling them, each having different risks, holding back and expecting prices to back to normal but I think it will take a long time or sell it and accept the loss and then buy it back with the sales you have generated.
maybe you some better advice you can give me.
i appreciate everyone's opinion.

I really think you need to enter a trade with a plan made. When I say a plan I mean that you must decide what you entry level is, what your stop loss is, and what is your exit plan as well (talking about profit here, and loss on the stop loss). Once you made these decisions, you should follow them, and commit to them during a month or something like that, to see if what you are doing works. It's very easy to make the mistake of changing your mind during a trade, specially when you are losing money, but if you keep changing you will never know if your plan is good for the long term.
138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbetting on: March 04, 2018, 09:54:18 PM
- Where do you win high amount of bitcoin in straight betting or in parlay?

 - Do you believe in hunch in terms of betting or still believe in prediction of the analyst?

 - Do you experience a sweet victory in parlay? How many team or sports you try to mixed?

 - Are you believe in lucky in terms of sports betting or you believe to the ability of the players?

As of now I was not yet win in any sportsbetting I do, do you have any strategies on how I know whose the teams/player were win in the game?

For me sports betting is mostly about skill and finding the right odds so you can have profit in the long run. You can just bet on your favourite teams, and go with hunches, but I guess few bettors do that these days. There are simply so many sites offering good statistics, that is easy to combine it, with the knowledge you have from the teams your are betting on. Some do it better than others, and of course you still need some luck to win, but it's far better than just betting on a hunch.

I do like to make some parlays, but I don't put those many teams, because I prefer to bet on a few games, after making decent analysis on them. Also it's very hard to find good odds like I said, so most of the time I can only make 2 or 4 bets in a week, so it's hard to make parlays. When I do make them, I hardly bet on more than 3 teams at the same time.
139  Economy / Gambling / Re: Poker sites? on: March 04, 2018, 09:49:20 PM
Nitrogen banned me from poker. Claiming multi accounting.   This is not true and I'm tired of them wrongfully banning.

What are some other poker sites?  Other than betcoin?

Thanks

Do you really need to play with crypto? I honestly think that poker doesn't work well on crypto, and I would advise you to move to fiat. Crypto is great for gambling in general, including sports betting, but it has many issues with poker. Houses have a lot of problems with collusion, because multi accounting is easy. Not saying you did it, but maybe they are getting paranoid, since it's very easy to cheat that way. With fiat, since you normal require ID verification, its usually harder. The software is way better, and you can even run poker HUD or software like that, that comes very handy when playing poker. The player base is way better than crypto poker as well.

I like crypto, but it just doesn't work with poker.
140  Economy / Economics / Re: Day trading vs swing trading! Which one is better for digital currencies? on: March 04, 2018, 09:44:37 PM
I am wondering, many people are doing great in crypto trading. Some of them are doing day trading and some others are doing swing trading. I want to learn which trading really works very good in cryptocurrency?

I would say it all depends on your style and you should try both and see what it works best for you. I tried day trading, and it was amazing when we had this huge volatility, where we could win 20% in a few minutes. Right now this is not the case, and I think that swing trading is now the best option. I don't need to keep checking the price, I don't spend so much time in front of the computer and I can still do some fine profit. When I was day trading, I kept waking in a few hours just to check the price. Now I can just have some alerts running, and place some pending orders, based on my analysis and let it run.

Crypto is less volatile as well, so I don't think it's profitable to do day trading. I mean you can of course have more profit than you would on swing trading, but it's not worth it in my opinion, because of all the time you need to spend in front of the computer.
