Good news, if GPU don't get a tremendous advantage over CPUs... Which, as far as discord discussions are concerned, shouldn't be the case, fewwww The number of pools is growing! Let's decentralize the power and take it off the main (and first ) pool! https://miningpoolstats.stream/uplexaI'm mining now on my Vernee X Android phone =)))) 100 h/s, not bad!! TOP for little miners: you'll want to mine on hashing.center pool or https://crypto9coin.cf/upx, as they have a much lower minimum payment. Rock on, uPlexa! Hello uPlexors Fruity Pool released a GPU miner for uPlexa. You can download it from here: https://github.com/FruityPool/FruityMiner/releasesIt works with both Nvidia and AMD GPUs. AMDs sometimes show minor errors, but mining continues. Good luck and happy hashing!

And again, for those who wonder why there are only miners for the usual power computer for now, while the project talks about IoT all over the place... well, first of all the network needs to have a steady and stable base, and as the project is in its infancy, there aren't gazillions of users empowering the blockchain. So it makes sense to prioritize the "usual" computers, as it's the easiest and faster to release, and the firstcomers are most always miners, with existing rigs. This provides a good stable securized network, which is now able to welcome the little machines (the so-called IoT devices ). That's why the Dev and community are already and very actively working on developing the mining apps on the little rockchip processors for instance, aiming Android TV boxes, and Android smartphones. And it's only the beginning

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2018 and CPU Mining Guides

Hi! Why bother making our CPUs overheat just to squeeze a few coins out of it, while we can just use 1-2% of our CPU power, and still use our computer for other tasks and even find some use for our ooooooold laptop that's taking dust? Staking (and masternodes) can be a very nice way to go, especially when a project is brand new and with some really great ideas to keep the coin's value as high as possible (this "defensive buy wall" idea is a must, their idea for increasing liquidity is awesome too...) check their discord, and get a glimpse at their whitepaper, their strategy is clearly explained https://discord.gg/XzZhtqEBonus points, ATM partnerships, Raspberry Pi... One of Masternodes biggest flaws is that investors can have no guarantee that the value of their investment will at least be maintained. This project's team has found a smart (and most probably efficient!) way to avoid this flaw. They're on pre-sale right now

That is true. The quality overall has not been the greatest. We kind of knew it wouldn't be the most valuable going in, which is why we're focused more-so on the developer & content related bounties. Our next megabounty later in 2019 will not include social bounties.
Awesome! Can't wait to see what you have for us in your drawers =) Note for people: the https://www.uplexamining.com website is on fire! Evolving every day... they now have much more benchmarks, including... Rockchip RK3328!! Yup, uPlexa mining rocks on Android TVs already! More to come for other procs and systems, the discussions on the discord channel are mouth-watering. The people who are getting in now are lucky...!

why one single pool has more then 90% hashrate?? Because this single pool https://uplexa.poolbux.com/#/home is the official one, the pool which was brought online by Uplexa devs to start up the process. Other pools are slowly coming online sinds then. As the project evolves, more pools will come, and the hashes will be spread out more. Just give it some time. It s funny that they write " The Cryptonight-UPX algorithm is specifically focused on mining any device's CPU, big or small, for a coin reward" but the main pool has 5000 upx minimum payments. I have a mid range cpu and I am discouraged from using the pool that the developers themselves have created. 5000 min is not for normal cpu. We started at a 10k payout threshold. 10k payouts were achievable within a few hours on a mobile phone running a web based browser miner (one of the slowest methods possible). We've since reduced our threshold to 5k. It came to our attention that we should not lower our payment threshold at this time. The idea behind this, is to incentivize miners to spread their hashes amongst other community pools. Each and every other uplexa pool offers a minimum payout range starting from 10-500 UPX. We highly recommend pools such as https://fruitypool.com or http://hashing.center. The administrators of these pools are very active members of our community. Cheers! PS: tybiboune - well said! Hi! Open communication (would I dare... "transparency"?) is mandatory in a sphere where so many projects are mostly aimed at making their core Team (and close friends) wealthy... Nowadays, words such as "pre-mine", "ICO" or even "masternodes" can sound appalling to many potential investors. In the case of uPlexa, once you dig deeper, you understand why that pre-mine exists and how it's totally justified and for a good and honest purpose, but given the myriad of projects launching every day, and the "flourishing" (errr) current market, people barely have more than a few seconds to consider for a new project, and then decide to dig or skip. I consider that announcing "loud and clear" some premine in a project Ann is actually a positive approach, and a first sign of honesty and transparency (we see many crypto projects announcing nothing about premine, and... you find out once you dig deeper =) ), but it can also be important to really highlight those points (x% premine -> what for exactly?) Investor should read "premine", they eventually start to frown, then they read "x% of this premine goes to y, ..." and they're more prone to dig further. Just my opinion

Hi! That's a constructive comment And actually there are a few things to reply : - first of all, for NOW the existing mining app is designed to work on PCs (windows or Linux, mostly Ubuntu). I'm not in the core team's deepest thoughts, but I'm assuming this is to incentivise the 'first comers' as they're supposed to become some kind of 'core' to the community. - concerning the 5000 minimum for payments, that used to be 10000 till very recently, once a again I'm assuming two main reasons first that : firstly the team calculated that given the type of miners coming first to the project, 10000 would be fair not to pull too much out of the pool, and not waste too many transaction fees. But actually the main dev recently acknowledged that given the evolution of the network, his calculation and way of thinking was not that accurate. - this first pool was the 'official' and has now been joined by a few others, who have a much lower minimum payment. You'll definitely get the best out of your little computer. Check http://www.uplexamining.com/pools/ they have a list of the existing mining pools. The 5000 minimum payment of the official pool will, actually, be a VERY good way to spread the hashing power and get really decentralized. By the way, this website I just mentioned has been done by one member of the community, and it has many interesting things about the project. Check it out! And... Welcome to this great project! why one single pool has more then 90% hashrate?? Because this single pool https://uplexa.poolbux.com/#/home is the official one, the pool which was brought online by Uplexa devs to start up the process. Cool! )) thank you so much for taking my suggestion into consideration... I'm also afraid that I those mass Twitter postings could be frowned upon as some kind of spam =( that wouldn't serve the purpose... @uPlexa, so what do you think about apps suggestions? To help devs get inspired, here the field is so large it can be a bit discouraging, don't you think? Like 'code whatever you want'.. 'Oh dear, where am I gonna start?!' Sorry for insisting, I juste dig this dev bounty idea, I'd really like to see some interesting things coming out of this Great idea. Shortly, I will update this thread with suggestions for Apps/software that would be eaten up by the community.

Thanks guys for the info concerning CPU power settings in the miner...
@DevTeam : do you have any approximative release date for the mobile wallet? And... are you going to make it mine too? =) That would be awesome! Not that smartphone mining could bring anybody millions of UPX, of course, but every little bit makes a difference, and that would be a good start to democratize the project, don't you think?
Concerning Cryptonote-based mining, we already have Tony Monero's Android app, it's working fine, but of course for now it doesn't include uPlexa specific algo... I was thinking, maybe some kind of "joint venture" with the Dev? Or you think you can make your own integrated miner?

Real ideas with a real usecase are becoming a rare thing in this sphere.
This one is definitely interesting, with a very nice market, not mentioning the dedication and kindness of the core Team.
Going international will be one of your greatest challenges with that, but I wish you the best of luck on this!
Good luck with the project, you guys really deserve to succeed (and I'll be very happy to be a part of it)

That's what makes the power of this project, besides the inspired, hard-working and dedicated Dev team : the community Thanks again @neqniox for this website, are you planning to add all the interesting articles and videos that are gonna be written withint the next months? And... I have a question concerning the miner: I see that most of you guys set the cpu load at 80/85%, but never 100%. Why is that? Is the hashing performance lesser if you set it 100%? As promised, http://www.uplexamining.com is now up! It's still early days, and I will work on it over the coming weeks. We aim to provide; - A database of user-submitted performance figures, specific to uPelxa - An overview of the project - Links and live stats of our public pools - Mining instructions for all supported mining applications (right now, that's just one) Please feel free to submit your performance data. It could help other miners determine what hardware to buy! are you part of the uplexa team? I am not a member of the core team, no. Just a technologist who loves the concept and is engaging with the project where required.

wow, thanks! Very nice initiative and work That's the kind of stuff we need to make the project the most user-friendly possible, especially for new miners who'll wonder what they can do and how. Rock on http://www.uplexamining.comHi Everyone! We've decided to set uPlexamining.com up to help newbies and experienced miners alike. On our site, you’ll find information about the uPlexa project, instructions on how to mine uPlexa, expected performance of CPU’s/GPU’s, and updates from our wonderful Pool Operators and uPlexa team! Check out our current list of confirmed CPU hashrates on our Hardware Benchmarks page, and help us develop a solid set of data by submitting your own figures! The site will be developed over the coming weeks, and any feedback/requests are welcome on here or via the official uPlexa Discord. Thanks!

As I mentioned, you did think thoroughly beforehand I was also thinking... why not add a few suggestions or examples, concerning the apps that can participate into the bounty? I know that, even if I'm not a Dev (at least not skilled enough to participate here ) but as a graphic designer, generally speaking when I'm in front a "white page" I can be just....stuck I like to have a few guidelines before starting the creation process. Maybe the same occurs to Devs? In that case, why not give, in the main post, a few examples of some apps that could be interesting for the project? Hi! If I'm allowed... Actually I'd have set the reward higher for the Dev bounty than for the content one. But it's only a matter of complaining about something I supposed you have been thinking about it, and weighed everything, to conclude that good quality articles would be worth as much as a nice real use-case app? Not quite. From top to bottom is based on how many people will participate in the bounties (least to most). Developers are more rare than content creators. Thus, less developers will participate in the dev bounty, meaning the developers who do, will receive a greater reward. And of course, everybody has a twitter these days, thus we anticipated that this is where the most users would flock to for "easy UPX". However, the "easy UPX" is more so on the development and content creation side, due to bounty participation stakes made by fewer people for greater rewards
